Some tips for your overheating. drill a hole in your thermostat, put a larger pulley on your water pump, these techniques work by slowing the flow of water which means it spends more in time the rad and actually cools better than faster flowing coolant. If you use another engine for it down the line have the block caustic dipped to remove all rust from the block, especially in the water jackets and the outside of the bores. Also move your oil coolers away from the rad, as they will just be heatsoaking your radiatior. really enjoying your regular content too.
+m16a2m4 We're hoping some ducting and a vented hood should do the trick because really we're not seeing engine temps that are really high so those measures are more for preventative then anything else.
I was talking to some guys from Japan about my Fit, and one of them commented that (being an Alberta car) I don't have a front plate, and how much the front license plate restricts air flow to the radiator. Even to the point that most people who run a road car at the track will remove it. Sounds really simple, but if you're worried, it might be a free and easy solution to a little more cooling.
+Scott Ryman that's actually a great point and something we talked about after this track test. We'll remove it next time (going in a few days) and see if it helps any.
A lot of guys running a wing set the car up scary loose mechanically for quick rotation in slower corners and use the wing to bring the car back to neutral or a slight push to make it driveable through high speed corners.
Excellent. See you at gridlife. I do recommend you visit the Grattan racetrack if you are going to be in MIchigan. Fantastic track with elevation changes.
How about a setup video where you go through the basics off setting up suspension. Something like showing full soft compression and what happens. Then the same with rebound. Then dialing in your sway bar. What to expect, what to fix etc.
+Alberto Pettine There's ZERO lag, it feels like NA just with another almost 100whp. It builds boost as the engine revs out so you get a very linear power delivery.
+Speed Academy Would a low temp Thermostat help and maybe some AMSOIL Coolant Boost with just distilled water. www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/other-products/antifreeze/dominator-coolant-boost/ Car sounds freaking amazing love it.
They have oil coolers for the firs where the the bumper running lights go. You can have two on each hole and you can have the radiator unrestricted by those two oil coolers. Check it out. Nice job with the rest of the car.
+FAINTEN17 Yes but the Jackson racing kit places them behind the intercooler so we don't want to mess with the design. If there is infact an overheating issue then we may work on relocating them.
If you open up more holes for cooling at the front you will compromise your aerodynamics; ie. increased drag, as for downforce; cannards, and a splitter for the front and a diffuser for the back. The hood should totally have vents. Kudos guys!
is the reason for your under steering is because the anti-sway bar that was installed in the front is stiffer than the rear? Also thank you for your public service to frs/brz owners like me.
+aaguirre123 we're pretty sure the understeer is being caused by the giant rear wing as well as a bad rear alignment (it currently has 1/4'' toe-in and about 3.5-degrees of negative camber). We're getting the car aligned properly at NV Auto soon and will be sure to loosen up the rear with zero toe and less camber, plus adding a front splitter before our next track test should help balance out aero grip and make the car a lot more neutral than it was during this test.
the relief valve makes a good wooshing sound!! was this with the factory installed from jackson racing? thanks man! the SC kit performs well from the sounds, I think it will be my choice soon with mine!
+lutz gehtdichnichtsan The amount of custom work needed to move a radiator to the back is not worth the hassle. Some ducting has helped us tremendously.
Radiator fans do not move enough air while racing to make a difference in cooling. Fans are only there for slow driving like stop and go driving or standing still. Most Time Attack and full out racecars like Australian v8 Supercars do not run fans. If you had that much understeer from the wing, you should have put the wing on the lowest AOA or just removed it and you would have ran faster lap times.
are you allowed to removed the headlights and route ducting threw there. also id remove the front license plate and do some cutting to expose all of the coolers up front. this show is starting to grow on me now, keep up the awesome work guys
+name less You could but that wouldn't be street legal and we need the car to pass any inspection if it came up. We actually bought some ducts to install in the front bumper but ended up not needing them.
+jorges2000 Haha, its being traded in since we need a pickup truck. The MDX has been a great daily no issues with it, other than just some really minor stuff but nothing worth noting.
Hey guys, It wouldnt hurt to throw in a lower degree thermostat along with some Redline water wetter. Im surprised the kit didnt come with a new tstat.
+jdmcommute Truth be told, I don't find lower deg thermostats do all that much after the first 5-10 min of hard driving. Sure they opener sooner which in theory should keep the engine temps lower for longer but on engines that run this hot 210F+ I'm not so sure it'll help on hot days like we experienced.
+Speed Academy I love your videos but you guys are Canadian, last time I checked nobody under the age of 80 uses anything but Celsius. Keep up the good work otherwise.
This is true, maybe the radiator just isnt up to the task. Lol. My mishimoto 3 row was the best mod ive done on my STI. But I agree with your guys route of venting the hood first. It would not only help with cooling but aero as well by creating a low pressure area in the bay. Thumbs up my Canadian tuner bros! You guys can use Celsius and metric sytems all day in my opinon, thats what conversion charts are for. Cheers!
+Kevin Turabian Our gauge reads in Fahrenheit hence why we've continued to use it and have you been to America?! Everyone and their mom uses it there, haha. Plus Dave is over 80 so is used to Fahrenheit, and Peter lived in California for a few years so has been temperature-colonized lol.
+nox0underling We definitely did but we don't find they actually do much on the track when the car is operating at a higher engine temperature. This is a very good read: www.tuneruniversity.com/blog/2012/04/low-temp-thermostats-whats-the-advantage/

I don't want a track car, but more like daily driver yet very capable car. +Roman Ash you're 6'11'' 250 lbs? Damn, you play in the NBA? :P I think you're on the right track with a M3 (you thinking E46 or E90/92?). Those are spacious cars so should fit you pretty well and they're tons of fun, great sounding engines when you get on the gas, but cruise nice and quiet on the highway for daily driving. It's a great all-around enthusiast car. We really like the IS300 too, and with a single turbo setup it would be plenty fast. You'd certainly have a lot more budget to play with if you started with a IS300 vs a M3.
i was thinking e46m3 or 335i 07-09 or is300. but just wanted to make sure i didn't miss anything. friends keep mentioning g35/7. but i believe they are not as quite as the other options i mentioned.
great video guys! I have the same supercharger but I'm on e85! question for you guys I don't think I ever hard you say if you guys where running an oil cooler or not ?? where you ?
+ricardo juarez We are running the JR oil cooler. If you watch the install vid you can see us install it. How much power are you making on e85? We'd love to switch over to it but there are so few stations here.
You guys should be on Bridgestone re71r or BFG rival tires. I know it needs more setting up but I'm interested in times you can get this and the ass2000 down to. Right now his is 4 seconds faster then the ass2000?
+MNachtigal We like the Toyos but have heard very good things about both those tires. We're hoping we can get the car close to the lap time of the ASS2k! Unfortunately, we don't really have any times to go off of right now and wont until the car is dialed in.
Hey guys I'm looking into track days and was wondering if you had any good car recommendations that I could eventually turn into a full blown track car one day. I'm looking at a 8-10k budget for the car, I'm in Toronto as well. Thanks!!
+xxscope004xx Any Honda is a perfect car to begin with. They're light so won't wear parts and tires quickly. Very reliable so you can go beat on it and drive it home without issue. Plus, they're cheap! It won't cost you much to get into an already modded one that is ready to go have fun in! We love the Honda Civic EG & EK platforms. Hope that helps.
+xxscope004xx The RSX is a good car as well. A little heavier then the Civics but you get a comfortable daily driver and that awesome K motor for power!
Why no front splitter? You can change the thermostat to a lower temp unit, it should lower the temps a bit. Try BRZ style ducts, maybe it will help. Don't worry too much for aesthetics #becauseracecar :D
wheel specs please? and how much is the FRS lowered by? looking for a nice functional track setup for mine. what would you recommend for my 17x9 +35 wheels? wrapped in 245/40/17 RE71R. coilovers coming in a few days.
+Geronimo Reyes speed.academy/track-alignment-specs-scion-frs/ speed.academy/scion-frs-voltex-advan-racing-gt-toyo-r1r/ Those links should help you with what you need.
+Yuelin Fan no, we don't believe it does. Running the fan at higher speeds can actually reduce cooling efficiency. That said, because we have an intercooler and two oil coolers in front of the radiator now, the fans may actually help even at speeds over 45mph. We'll do some testing to find out.
That's good to hear. I don't wanna throw curve balls at ya or anything but I hear that there's a lot of hype right now for a new roots type supercharger by Edelbrock, and I hear it's great!! If you crave mid-range torque and want something new after you've tried the JR supercharger, I'd recommend giving that a look :)
+maximus9401 We saw the Edelbrock unit and where also very interested in it but havent seen a production ready piece yet but who knows, if they have one by next year we may give it a try :)
Speed Academy yeah buddy now that's exciting! Love how "in the know" you guys are, I can tell you guys really are passionate about what you do! People are preordering them now but I'll keep an eye out for when the mass produced units are delivered. I think a couple testers have their units but we'll wait for the real!
+maximus9401 We do love what we do, there's no mistaking that! And yeah, we're eager to see the results of that kit and the Cosworth one which we havent heard much of after it was previewed on the Speedhunters car.
+The Ultimate Racer add splitter, track test to see if understeer is sufficiently reduced. Plus we're getting an alignment at NV Auto because right now there's rear toe-in and too much rear camber, so that was contributing to the understeer too, I'm sure. We'll get it sorted once the splitter is on there. Would love to wind tunnel test it, of course, but we don't have the budget for that. That wind tunnel video we did with Sasha at UOIT's Speed Lab was a one-time special.
+TheOg Boosjukie WE'll build a car to do smokey burnouts in the near future but the track cars will just blow up axles or transmissions so we're trying to avoid that haha.
Thanks for the reply!!! Could you also say what jackson supercharger kit you got on it? Im 21 in the US Air Force and just bought a FR-S because of the way you guys made yours. They drive so nice but i want to make it faster than what it is. Thank you!
Read somewhere that you are making 262 whp on 91 octane pump gas You know how I can make you all jealous? In Germany, we have 102 octane pump gas... (ARAL stations)
could have sworn somewere that american/ canadian gas uses a different octane rating system so our 91 octane would be similar to your 93 octane, with 100 octane gas (103 octane in europe) being rare but available
BeastMode1210 yeah might be, I wasn't aware of the fact only such low octane gas is available regularly in CAN/USA. I'm curious what kinds of power this set up would manage on 102 octane with a new tune.
+Sounds of silence You're correct, a rad fan will actually reduce the flow of the air through the rad at high speeds but we still need to ensure it works for in the pits and the drives home.
+Zackary Lentz The engineering of something like that is way too much work for what we need to accomplish. Some ducting and hood vents are really all that it will take to get temps down.
You might try removing the front license plate. That's a big obstacle to air flow and you don't need it on the car at the track. Just a thought.
That blower noise is goals!
+JellyForSale straight up
Some tips for your overheating. drill a hole in your thermostat, put a larger pulley on your water pump, these techniques work by slowing the flow of water which means it spends more in time the rad and actually cools better than faster flowing coolant. Yeah this video freaked me out for a sec, my frs with only an e85 tune is petty much always at 215. Glad you gave that update at the end!
+David Allen It freaked us out too, thankfully we figured it out.
I was talking to some guys from Japan about my Fit, and one of them commented that (being an Alberta car) I don't have a front plate, and how much the front license plate restricts air flow to the radiator. Other than the heating issue the FRS looks stupid fast!! I love it!
The Ass also looked awesome! Keep doing your thing, fellas!!
+Kyle LaJoye Thank you! We're hoping to make time for an S2k vs FRS battle in October!
A lot of guys running a wing set the car up scary loose mechanically for quick rotation in slower corners and use the wing to bring the car back to neutral or a slight push to make it driveable through high speed corners.
The FR-S seemed nice !!! Really like your channel guys !!! Keep up !!! Greetings from Greece !!!
+Antonis Kapsalis Thank you!
Have you guys checked for air bubbles in the lines? This will cause sudden spikes and drops of temps as well.
Great work with the build folks. Nice lapping there.
You should think of making a USA track trip for next summer!
We're planning to turn up the boost and bring it to the #GridLife event at Gingerman Raceway in Michigan in June.
Excellent. See you at gridlife.
I do recommend you visit the Grattan racetrack if you are going to be in MIchigan. Fantastic track with elevation changes.
loved the video!! and cornering at 1.4 G. AMAZING!
+ravenstylea2 We're just getting started with this car! More to come!
hood off roadkill style... is that where you got the idea?
TheReidGuy hah, not really. Just seemed a quick and easy test to see if it helped with cooling. We do love Road Kill, though.
How about a setup video where you go through the basics off setting up suspension.
Something like showing full soft compression and what happens. Then the same with rebound. Then dialing in your sway bar. What to expect, what to fix etc.
Best sounding Supercharger ever!
+Alberto Pettine We love the new sound too!
Speed Academy Hey guys! The power with this supercharger it´s linear or a little laggy? Cheers!
+Alberto Pettine There's ZERO lag, it feels like NA just with another almost 100whp. It builds boost as the engine revs out so you get a very linear power delivery.
Nice!! Supercharger without the whine AND TURBO SOUND! You guys cant complain!
+Speed Academy Would a low temp Thermostat help and maybe some AMSOIL Coolant Boost with just distilled water. www.amsoil.com/shop/by-product/other-products/antifreeze/dominator-coolant-boost/ Car sounds freaking amazing love it.

+Dj Hazard You're right, we weren't going to go down that road unless we absolutely needed to. Hood vents though, they're on the list for next year!

great time ;)
hope to come up with a good solution .
Keep up the good work
that exhaust sounds great on it
+Reece Russell It certainly does but boy is it loud inside the cockpit.
good news for the overheating situation, this is one frs that i would enjoy driving!
+Rising Sun It's going to be super fun to drive once we sort it all out!
The frs looks very very quick! I hope you guys fix those cooling issues soon!
kabadi chak wal
+Luis Lujan they don't really have a cooling issue, he explains at the end
Very interesting video. Ruddy quick car -- should be ridiculously fast when it's fully sorted.
+TassieLorenzo Going fast seems to be easy, sorting the car is the hard part!
good work guys
How much money is in that build? Beautiful car. Also, where is this track?
the relief valve makes a good wooshing sound!! was this with the factory installed from jackson racing? thanks man! the SC kit performs well from the sounds, I think it will be my choice soon with mine!
Get some front air ducts where the turn signals are in the front. It replaces the fake vents.
+Sgod That's exactly what we thought of too. APR makes some too!
I'm a little bit late but u could try to put the radiator in the trunk and get some airflow from the sides and the roof to gett enough air.
+lutz gehtdichnichtsan The amount of custom work needed to move a radiator to the back is not worth the hassle. Some ducting has helped us tremendously.
awesome episode!
+Frany Thanks! Got a few more goodies on the way!

i love those home depot gloves.
are you allowed to removed the headlights and route ducting threw there.
also id remove the front license plate and do some cutting to expose all of the coolers up front.

+name less You could but that wouldn't be street legal and we need the car to pass any inspection if it came up. We actually bought some ducts to install in the front bumper but ended up not needing them.
The car looks good. Is the white MDX the team parts vehicle. Noticed it on a few of your videos.
+jorges2000 That is Dave's baby hauler/support vehicle now. Soon to be replaced with a Tundra!
+Speed Academy How many miles are on the MDX any issues? looking to get an 07 or 08 for my wife. Trade a 2007 civic si? : )
+jorges2000 Haha, its being traded in since we need a pickup truck. The MDX has been a great daily no issues with it, other than just some really minor stuff but nothing worth noting.
Great fucking vids guys!
+Nick Zak Thanks, glad you're liking them
+Speed Academy would be great if you guys came to mine and Eric Kauls track workshops. Contact me or Eric Kaul via FB. - Nicholas Zak.
Awesome stuff.
+select20 Thanks!
+jdmcommute lol!
Hey I saw Pete at import fest last weekend
+NHL Guru Shoulda said hi!! :)
Did you guys consider a lower temp thermostat? it's a trick I've picked up from fellow supercharged GM 3.8 owners. lower turn on temp helps a lot.
+nox0underling We definitely did but we don't find they actually do much on the track when the car is operating at a higher engine temperature. This is a very good read: www.tuneruniversity.com/blog/2012/04/low-temp-thermostats-whats-the-advantage/
Looking to get a new toy, and since I'm a follower of Speed Academy, I am checking to see whats my options and perhaps get some ideas by watching your videos. I don't want a track car, but more like daily driver yet very capable car.
(for example, i have a c63 but its auto only, and i had enough of it), so i was thinking maybe M3/335i or is300 (old school w/single turbo), any other options?
3 things are must: Manual (w/ clutch that is), Low dBA on highways, RWD.
+Roman Ash Opinions are appreciated but please exclude the American cars since I am short and they don't fit anyone under 6'11'' 250lbs. lol...
+Roman Ash you're 6'11'' 250 lbs? Damn, you play in the NBA? :P I think you're on the right track with a M3 (you thinking E46 or E90/92?). Noticed your CEL was on, was that just a result of the new ecu and ratio setup. did that eventualy fix itself for u?
You could try a rear rad mount
great video guys! I have the same supercharger but I'm on e85! question for you guys I don't think I ever hard you say if you guys where running an oil cooler or not ?? where you ?

I see, fair enough to each their own :) Cant wait to see more! Have fun and keep the rubber to the ground :p
interesting, as always!
you guys really focus on the most important things for a track day racer.
+081588101 Thanks! We're trying to go fast out there and show you guys how to do it.
Is that JR S/C the C30 blower and is that the "stock" JR diverted valve routing back to intake making that choo choo noise?
Yes and yes and yes :)
What aftermarket gauges did they have in the car? They looked pretty nice.
Auto Meter!
You should add some canards and a racing front splitter to counter balance the downforce
+Tristan Daoust Working on it! We have canards on the bumper but the splitter is on order.
Hey guys I'm looking into track days and was wondering if you had any good car recommendations that I could eventually turn into a full blown track car one day. I'm looking at a 8-10k budget for the car, I'm in Toronto as well. Thanks!!

+xxscope004xx The RSX is a good car as well. A little heavier then the Civics but you get a comfortable daily driver and that awesome K motor for power!
Did you guys ever figure out the over heating issue? If so what was the fix.
Why no front splitter? You can change the thermostat to a lower temp unit, it should lower the temps a bit. Try BRZ style ducts, maybe it will help. Don't worry too much for aesthetics #becauseracecar :D
+Veselin Georgiev Working on the front splitter, it didnt arrive in time before we went testing. We have some ducts coming too!
@6:50, sounds like a mclaren p1 ripping around the track
+Joseph Thompson There was a Mclaren at the track there, not a P1 though :)
wheel specs please? and how much is the FRS lowered by? looking for a nice functional track setup for mine. what would you recommend for my 17x9 +35 wheels? wrapped in 245/40/17 RE71R. coilovers coming in a few days.
+Geronimo Reyes speed.academy/track-alignment-specs-scion-frs/
speed.academy/scion-frs-voltex-advan-racing-gt-toyo-r1r/
Those links should help you with what you need.
+Speed Academy thanks alot! Keep up the good work guys. Loving the channel !
Do u guys have an issue or are. Concern of oil starvation at the 1.4 g ur claiming??
What brand of gauges do you use?
Burp the cooling system when refilled?
Race car with a front license plate?? Nice job blocking the intercooler!
Theres a fine line between a race car and heavily moddified production car. This is not a race car
Buy a thermostat for the engine that opens on a lower temp and change the thermoswitch in the radiator for a type that connects at a lower temp :)
+Martin Amlie We're going to start with some fresh air ducting and if that isnt enough then we'll swap the thermostat.
Those temps seem like the FD I had temps excepts I was getting up to 240 just driving on the freeway...
+coldvaper Haha, damn rotaries!
More front aero snd go tune it in that wind tunnel you guys featured in that one episode.
+Sean Henry That wind tunnel is $2000/hour so we wont be going there anytime soon but we can tune on the track. Less expensive and more fun :D
Fair enough.
someone tell me plz. does the cooling fan still work when you going over 45mph???????
+Yuelin Fan no, we don't believe it does. Running the fan at higher speeds can actually reduce cooling efficiency. That said, because we have an intercooler and two oil coolers in front of the radiator now, the fans may actually help even at speeds over 45mph. We'll do some testing to find out.
To be honest extra 100HP for the 86-frs -brz etc will actually bring the car to life.
did you upgrade your clutch after adding the supercharger?
+DRP0CKETS yessir, we're running a SPEC Stage 2+ clutch and flywheel combo. Works great and handles this power level flawlessly.
awesome.
if u jus buy the carbon fiber hoodscoop from Autozone itll get yall at least 50 more horsepower and decrease the engine temp by 60 degrees
+kidzero1943 Haha, we're going to buy 5 of them then!
or maybe your solution is a dual core mishimoto radiator !!!
and a front body kit?
maan sultan ya, it may well come to that. We're going to duct some fresh air to the Koyo rad we have already and see how much that helps.
InfuseDJ Varis Arising II kit is the dream! Maybe next year.
that would be my dream kit on my dream car! keep this up!
So the supercharger is holding up just fine right? No problems there?
+maximus9401 Yup, it seems to be working great and making good power so we're stoked on that!

You guys coming down to World Time Attack in October?
+Shakotannn We wish! Thats an event that's a bit too expensive and too far to attend for us at the moment.
it is the bumper
get rid of the "fancy" gauges. use the stock water temp gauge.
Why
Wind tunnel?
or just adjust and hope the understeer goes away?
+The Ultimate Racer add splitter, track test to see if understeer is sufficiently reduced. Plus we're getting an alignment at NV Auto because right now there's rear toe-in and too much rear camber, so that was contributing to the understeer too, I'm sure. We'll get it sorted once the splitter is on there. Would love to wind tunnel test it, of course, but we don't have the budget for that. That wind tunnel video we did with Sasha at UOIT's Speed Lab was a one-time special.
ah ok :)
i thought you already had a splitter on but the wing was just generating too much downforce
Maybe a front splitter to reduce understeer ?
Dédé LABINOUZE definitely! In the works, coming soon!
Your engine is pulling in hot air from inside the engine bay. You need to separate the intake air from the hot engine bay air.
Is there any front aero coming your way?
Ethanmeister yessir, front splitter in the works.
You know what this means right? Speed Academy FRS 2JZ swap!
115 was the time you guys did on TMP?
No, I think we ran a 1:19 or 20 on TMP full
Where can I find a mod list for this car? Curious what all was done..
Check out our website, it has a host of stories with the mods. Or you can watch the other video series on it.
You've got air trapped in the coolant system.
Thanks guys.. but can you go back to the KickASS2000.. much more interesting =)
Little less driver’s weight and might get more speed.
What radiator do you have on this car?
+Jadon Ghereben Koyo, its a good quality unit.
This show needs more tire smoke !
+TheOg Boosjukie WE'll build a car to do smokey burnouts in the near future but the track cars will just blow up axles or transmissions so we're trying to avoid that haha.
nice jorts pt;)
+Ryan Nimmert Haha, homemade! Perfect for shop tuning.
Did anyone else hear the Mclaren at 6:50?
+Strike my Soul There's always a ton of supercars ripping at these night events!
Get a dmax hood vent pleeease
+Jadon Ghereben We're thinking about it but we may just buy a vented hood already.
What exhaust is on that frs?
Avo Turboworld 3-inch
Thanks for the reply!!! Could you also say what jackson supercharger kit you got on it? Im 21 in the US Air Force and just bought a FR-S because of the way you guys made yours. They drive so nice but i want to make it faster than what it is. Thank you!
Is it better then the s2000 on track?
+mark perez Both are equally as fun. The FRS is more forgiving.
Bigger rad and ducted rad should see you right.
+setra23 Working on the ducting. Koyo is a great rad and should provide efficient cooling.
maybe because theres 2 oil coolers and an inter-cooler in front of the radiator...
+Mackel B Lewlis We thought the same thing but were assured that the radiator still gets fresh air and shouldn't be overheating...
what wheels are those?
+Gio Calma Advan GT 18x9.5
Seems like it needs a .75 rake or something but idk
Dylan Prasad we will likely play around with rake once we get a front splitter on the car and see how balanced it is. We may also corner balance it.
Alrighty
I hear a P1 in the background...
Read somewhere that you are making 262 whp on 91 octane pump gas
You know how I can make you all jealous?
In Germany, we have 102 octane pump gas... (ARAL stations)
Oh we know, we remember fueling up when we were driving to the Ring!
could have sworn somewere that american/ canadian gas uses a different octane rating system so our 91 octane would be similar to your 93 octane, with 100 octane gas (103 octane in europe) being rare but available
BeastMode1210 yeah might be, I wasn't aware of the fact only such low octane gas is available regularly in CAN/USA. I'm curious what kinds of power this set up would manage on 102 octane with a new tune.
should have done it like drifters and removed the front bumper.
+John Smith We thought about it but the car already had too much understeer. With the bumper off it would've been horrible.
wow 240*f
+Zadiel Vazquez In actuality its more like 225-230F so not that bad consider operating temp is 212F
dont need a rad fan on the track , just in the pits , lots of guys run no rad fan. rad fans dont do anything above 40
+Sounds of silence You're correct, a rad fan will actually reduce the flow of the air through the rad at high speeds but we still need to ensure it works for in the pits and the drives home.
You could try a rear rad mount
+Zackary Lentz The engineering of something like that is way too much work for what we need to accomplish. Some ducting and hood vents are really all that it will take to get temps down.
What tire size are you running
255/35R18
