This movie is very beloved and close to the heart of every youngsters here.. can't believe it's been 10 years of this.. it still looks so fresh..
Recently all the cast reunited to celebrate 10 years of YJHD.. it made me so sad and happy at the same time.. the magic this movie holds is incomparable.. I don't think there will be any Bollywood movie in the future that can depict the friendship and love in this manner 🥺🥺

You wondering why everyone at the brothel was so dressed up and wondering if it was a party or concert was hilarious. I really hope you figured what it was though... In case you didn't here are some other things you may have missed...
The woman in the first song from the brothel is Madhuri Dixit. She is a bit old for him. She was a really successful actress in hindi film industry from the late 80s to early 2000s. She took a break and has done a few films after that. She's famously known as an amazing dancer. That's why shes only in the movie for the one song. The last bit in the movie where he kisses her cheek was apparently reshot multiple times cuz Ranbir kept making mistakes so he could kiss her over and over again.
The train scene between Naina and Bunny, where he convinces her to get on the train is kind of a nod to a few very popular hindi films which heavily romanticize train journeys - notably Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Jab We Met.
Bunny's boss/ host of the show is the mom from popular Netflix show Never Have I Ever.
Avi doesnt attend the cocktail party cuz hes getting drunk by himself. He's drunk when Aditi and Bunny find by the pool and that also triggers the argument with Bunny. Also, the reason why Aditi says lets hang out like the old days with just the 3 of us, is cuz technically Naina wasn't in their group. The 3 of them were school friends, and they only interact with Naina for the 10-15 days of the trip. We know Aditi stayed in touch and got closer to Naina to get some space from Avi. But Naina wasn't a part of their group as such.
During the fight at Aditis wedding, when Bunny and Avi are throwing things and Aditi intervenes. She calls them Karan and Arjun. Again this is a callout to a very popular 90's hindi movie called Karan Arjun which was about 2 brothers who are re-incarnated but hate each other and eventually unite against the villains. Its a complicated movie plot but that's the reference.
The guy we see Naina having a beer with by the water is Rana Daggubati. He is a very popular south Indian actor primarily working in telugu film industry, but he's also done some Hindi and tamil movies.
After this movie, every Indian child went home and prayed for a father like Bunny's dad. Thats a hyperbole but we all fell in love with what a wonderful and loving father he was to his son. Its rare in India, because a lot of stories are about sacrificing your dreams for your parents happiness, and when you don't the parents are disappointed with the child. Its very few movies where the parents are supportive to this extent. Some movies where this theme has been explored through different lenses are taare zameen par, 3 idiots, wake up sid, and many more. There are many romances where this is pretty much the primary conflict of the entire movie - Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham is one of them. DDLJ which I mentioned above is another. Ishq and Welcome take a more comedic approach to this. Basically this is a very common plot point in India where the entire movie is about getting the parents to accept the child's pov.

They have a sort of dance competition between bride's family nd groom's family.. What starts off as a fun competition ends up being just everybody on the dance floor dancing nd enjoying!

Well about the whole "party with colours" thing.. We here have a religious festival called "Holi" where we basically play with a lot of colours and water guns and colour/water balloons and just have fun. There's a story behind this festival but I'm not gonna explain everything about it since I'm bad with explaining stories. Holi festival is actually kinda popular among other countries because of how colourfull and playfull it looks to them. It sure is one of my most fav festivals

This movie is literally the best indian movie cuz its shows freedom, friendship, love, travel, dreams, carefreeness, wanderlust literally the whole package another best movies are wake up sid, zindagi na milegi dobaara, jab we met ❤having some lovely time with friends and travelling with them is my dream but you can't always get everything you want i missed those days cuz of some problems but I'm still waiting for them to call me and say lets go on a trip together but i don't think they really care but still I'm waiting⏳ time passes so fast i hope one day I'm watching this movie and my friends will call me I've watched it already 27 times waiting for them i hope on day 😢🥺🥹🤧😭❤💜
