The Nathan P2 is a pretty garbage horn, BUT it CAN sound good under certain circumstances. Dallas Area Rapid Transit uses a very nice combination of Nathan P bells 1 and 2 to create a very nice sounding horn. I encourage you to look it up and have a listen.
The raised letter K5HL is in the D teir imo. It's just a wall of disgusting-sounding harsh noise that has unfortunately American infected railroads like a disease.
Why are k3la and K3ha treated as different horns? They are the same bell combination- the only difference is the manifold and that doesn’t affect sound.
@@rantingrailfan316 they do not sound different because one is an L and one is an H. If I wanted to turn the K3HA sitting in my garage into a K3LA, all I would have to do is swap the high manifold for a low manifold. The horn would sound the eact same though since I am still using the same bells. Of course, some horns that should sound exactly the same end up sounding slightly different, but that's due to wear and tear and/or differences in the manufacturing process. In this case, the change is best noted by serial number and not model number. Just my two cents
I don't think K3L is a bad horn but in my opinion it's a b tier horn, and K5L needs a little more respect and in my opinion a A tier. but the rest of the horns are accurate.
nahh the K5LA is the king of horns. But the RS5T is the queen cuz it’s a leslie😏 by the way the P2 isn’t so bad until you lived next to caltrain your whole life. Y couldn’t they use a K5LA like everyone else😪
You have my respect now. Thank you for putting the K5LLA in S tier. I lov- appreciate you. 😊
It's also partially because I own one lol
@@rantingrailfan316 Please post a video of it! I would love to see it.
The RS3K is underrated, has a really unique sound
The M3 is one of my favorite horns ever, but I will agree, it is EARSPLITTINGLY loud.
K5L deserves atleast a little more respect tbh
agreed, the Canadians got their shit sorted when it comes to horns.
I.would put the K5L, K5H, and K5HLA into A tier. They are amazing sounding horns, and some of my favorite of all time.
@@TrainsAreReallyCoolsir wb the RS3L sir. Best horn ever
Mans did my RS3K dirty lmao, nice video and actually someone who understands the concept of opinions, nice work 👍
Tbh the Nathan P2 sounds similar to a European Train Horn
K5LLA in S tier? MASSIVE AGREEMENT! same goes for the rs5t!
My favorite horn is the K5HL, I usually hear it on CSX GEVOs

Caltrain uses the same combo with Nathan p bells 1 & 2 with their F40s, MP36, and most of their gallery and bombardier cabcars
My favorite horn its prohibited in Brazil!!! Leslie RS5TRRO.
Uh Leslie rs2m is personally my favs I'm not gonna fight you
Great video
Also just wondering, what are your opinions on single-chime horns like the Wabco E2 or the tyfon horns?
I totally agree with you on this tier list, if I were you, I would’ve gives a Metrolink and to a little more respect but overall
K5LA K5LLA P5 GOAT
1:53 Bro caught in 128K 💀💀💀
also the raised letter K5LA should have got it own category. Also Nathan P5 in S teir that's literally what I'm talking about, I might sub
K5LA is indeed the absolute 🐐
well made video amazing opinions a fully agree verty good
1:45 all m horns do honestly
You should have put a sample at the start of it cause now I'm searching all of these horns, also k3ha sounds more like a p series then a k
the 3rd character in K horns is just the manifold so it it's a K5L or a K5H or a K3LA or a K3HA theyre just the same lol ALSO that RS5T pic is an S5T
The raised letter K5HL is in the D teir imo. It's just a wall of disgusting-sounding harsh noise that has unfortunately American infected railroads like a disease.
This just confirms my belief that Metrolink puts the worst horns ever on all of their trains
What do you think of the K3LR3
the K5LLA is great so is the RS5T for Csx 1776 & 3194
CSX 1776 have a S5T not a RS5T
oh boye a new banger!!!!!!!!!!!
K5LLA'S ARE TOO LOUD AAAAA
I don't hate any horns but K5LA is indeed king
Wait this guy has an opinion.
I'm joking, great content.
Leslie S5A when
When one gets made lmao
Yeah I've seen people who have gotten videos of k5la horns that are sick sounding
You didn’t piss me off

That same logic would apply to the K5H and K5L as well. They sound slightly different.

@@rantingrailfan316 How do they sound slightly different if they use the same bells???
I love the k5llas respect!
How does K5HL get higher than D tier?
What about the Acela horn?
Acelas use Hybrid K5LA's.
man the K2 aint that bad especially on the Rotem Cabcar
I LOVE P5
*oOoOoOh yOu pUt tHe p2 In D yOu’Re CrInGe!!!1!1!1!1!1!*
Nah jk good video.
Pree much my list BUT to me as much as I love the K5LA, not S tier material in my opinion, I’d rank the M5 higher than the K5LA
👍👍👍❤❤❤🚂🚂🚂
Where's the K5HLB?
I don't think K3L is a bad horn but in my opinion it's a b tier horn, and K5L needs a little more respect and in my opinion a A tier. but the rest of the horns are accurate.
Sad K3HL Noises
I don't even know most of these locomotives @_@
Where’s the Nathan K3LP horn if you haven’t heard it I’ve gotten it a couple times ua-cam.com/video/rMXacEgWm88/v-deo.html
I was getting the more mainstream horns with this one, I excluded some of the ones that are much rarer, such as the K3LP, SU3L, S5A, horns like that.
Ah ok makes sense and I just subscribed to you
P5 is the best
😅I got higly offended for you putting the nathan p2 into d tier
M5 is ok, but the trainz m5 sounds awesome, cry about it
yu cute
UMMM you forgot amtrak......
Amtrak has used K5LA's since the late 70s. All their locomotives have sported one since.
@@rantingrailfan316 oh shoot wrong video lol I was talking about all the first video on this channel lol 😂
Worst list possible, D tier list
K5LLA IS BEST
rs3l is shit, but the rest im ok with
