That version also had optional pink coins and other stuff by request (don't know how that makes sense for a race). Idea was for a kind of intro level where the first part doesn't make you go fast right away. Have thought it's a little weird especially without another checkpoint between the slow & p-switch runs.

So, you come out of the 3 invisible P blocks at the back on the plant train, using a high jump - with forward motion bounce once - then bounce a 2nd time and you'll miss the spikes. A single bounce doesn't get enough forward motion to clear that many spikes...unless there is some kind of perfect bounce.
I've wondered if routing a speed run to collect enough coins to rebuild the castle could be cool; however there's easily more interesting games to spend effort on, and the optimal route likely involves replaying the easiest levels to farm enough coins.
You know, I thought for a little while that possibly the waiting 100 seconds was just what we had to wait for to see you get softlocked like the thumbnail... because it just so happens that occurs right around 100 seconds in!

Couldn't Ryu simply let the spike balls keep re-spawning until all of the Pokeys are gone? It would take an extra 30 seconds, but it would've saved him at least 8 lives.
For the glitch level, go into the pipe as small Mario while holding the POW. There should be a ceiling above the exit, so hold down while you are already in the pipe to instantly go back in with the POW while also getting the mushroom. Then when you are returning, release the POW while you are over the flag pole.
the glitch level is pretty simple. enter the pipe when the timer is at 69 and quickly enter the konami code. as long as you get the timing right, aeris and general leo will appear

@@tetermc you dont need switch online to play; the levels are generally okay; there are assets available that level mode doesnt have; there's an end goal and a way to complete it.
If I had a nickel for each level Ryu played with a question mark in a dubious room, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.
I feel like I've seen the clear pipe trick in one of the Uno Mas videos of carl, but I'm not 100% what the trick was to get out of the pipe. Gonna see if I can't find the video on it, but it was a while back.
@@weirdwillie Found it faster because of this comment, dug through the DGR videos and found it, you go in while holding a pow, not sure if the cat suit is necessary, then throw the pow when you want to get out, e.g. when you're over the flag pole. Which a box would probably also work.
Can someone please make a "Mario Maker 1+2" with all the features of both, taking the better of the two when they overlap. Amiibo costumes, all the power ups, better spike hit boxes etc.
For the record, I don't think Story Mode sucks. But compared to everything else in this game it has zero replayability, which makes it all the more infuriating since it has a bunch of unique concepts that can't be found anywhere else in Mario Maker 2.

Spend the money to relicense all the non-Nintendo IP and spend the resources to port them into MM2 (someone still would have had to be paid to do this). Spend the resources to include 70% of the costumes and have people talk trash about it. Or spend none of the resources and have people talk trash about it. If you can't do it as good as before then don't do it half-assed. I don't envy the next Smash game...

Because SMM2 ISNT SUPPOSED TO BE SMM1. EG: SMM2 has Link and it's not just a costume. They are different games and SMM3 won't be a SMM2 DLC.
