Great detailed video. You are correct this car is not a performance car but rather a great GT car to enjoy that V8
It's a 10 speed.
Magnificent piece of Japanese machinery. Brilliant!!
Does make a good noise. Is really good to see Lexus still has a heartbeat!
Love these rigs!!Love the green on tan option amd those 21" rims.Love the NA V8.
The LC500 WILL be a modern classic.
I wish my E300 convertible sounded like that. But I’m also happy that I’m not paying to fuel ⛽️ it. The problem with the Lexus is that the C300, E350, E400, 430i, 440i, 840i, C63S, M4 exist as convertibles/coupes. And mostly at a better price point and with more features and demonstrably more performance in most cases.
@@bens6674 lol - “all of them are garbage”. You’ve just labeled millions of cars sold around the world over the last ten years all garbage because Hoovie once bought a European car. 🤪😂. (He always buys the cheapest broken ones on purpose) Which one of those models did Hoovie buy again….oh that’s right absolutely none of his 66-100 cars he’s bought aren’t any of the 8 I listed) You’re over-generalization is breathtakingly laughable. Which of those eight models I listed is particularly unreliable and give me statistical comparative proof (since you make the claim)?
I owned a Porsche 911 and Mercdes AMG GT, while they performed great, but I had all kinds of issues ranging from electrical to starter and oil leak and they were quite expensive to fix. Just like the hooker on sunset blvd they were flashy but high cost to maintain. I would rather pay a little more for Gas than thousands to repair crappy cars.
Clearly a car you don’t want to over analyze, it probably won’t make sense & blow your head off 😀
I’ve had many cool cars & recently thought about another German or UK car….no Italians.
Where I live now, keeping it out of the shop is key.
Never before owned a fancy Toyota but holy cow, the lc 500 convertible is a rock star NOT on drugs!
It kinda cracks me up how many buy a track car because they think they are cool (and most are), but they never use that functionality & give up so much in exchange.
The car is a unicorn.
Beyond beautiful 😍
Please review the V6 Lc500 next.
Can you please do the latest audi sq5
Damn, I'm looking at this guy and was thinking he looks like someone familiar. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you Tommy Lee Jones. Thoughts? Oh and the review was awesome.
Haha. Thanks for the feedback.
Can't beat the sound of a V8.
Whoever can’t afford for house for mortgage and who is hell pay for that $200k car? 😂😂😂
Sounds nice, looks like a concept
But if you have a beer budget the 10spd 5L mustang convertible is a much cheaper alternative that also sounds great goes better and costs much less than half
So general driving we’re talking 6ish odd seconds for 0-100 and a high 13 quarter mile with a 150k price tag, it makes no sense at all I will say it sounds great but that performance is quite lazy and for it’s class rather slow if you can describe it as that.
Sounds like T Rex has waken up, 👌
Overpriced for what it is.
Try to enter manual mode and change gears at 6000 rpm
Doesn’t make sense that it looks how it does, costs what it does, has a V8 and still takes 6s to 100. My N has a chance of beating it. It’s a nice car but I would definitely spend $220k differently.
They are good, but not $150k good and exciting. Rather get a specced up mustang or camaro
It sounds like a Lamborghini V12 to me.
Hmm id probably just rather a mustang GT convertible thanks
9 year old model and a 16 year old engine. It’s more of a Time Machine for rich boomers than a two door coupe 😜. With 19.6L per km(!) around town - you’d want to own a petrol station too (even a 2.5 ton, 6.6litre V12 twin turbo BMW M760Li has better fuel economy around town (18.7L/100) if that’s the worst benchmark you can find…)
I am not a baby boomer, and I have had my share of German cars along with all the problems, and I will take this beautiful work of art any day of the week, than the German Twin Turbos that go to the shop every other month.
Needs to go on a diet or a supercharger. Getting slower every time it gets tested
😅
To be fair, it was a hit 31 degree day
@@zaamuro8408 fat and slow is the reality of this car.
This is not a sports car. Let me re-iterate. This is _not_ a sports car. Stop complaining about the performance.
It is classified as a sports car, according to the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries, in Australia.
That's a lot of money for that performance. Not worth more than 150k imo.
Cannot agree more. If they had made this car more performant it would have sold in droves. I would have bought one. If performance is not a dominant priority then it could be a great choice. It has everything else going for it.
Ultimate performance isnt the point. Its a GT and really no one is going to track it. For the road it's plenty.
@@brownhairydog6472 You’re talking like GT car equals lower performance. In this case yes, in the general case of other offerings out there no. It’s perfectly fine for someone to find a 6 figure GT car that is lower on performance to be unacceptable. You’re entitled to your opinion, but many do not share it.
For other buyers beside yourself performance is the point. They want their cake. Some people want more performance for their money, even on the road.
@@dlj1285 let's agree to disagree. I'm in Australia where sneezing gets you a speeding ticket. I've had plenty of fast cars and ultimately they are boring to me on the road.
Out of interest what would you be comparing this to in terms of price?
@@brownhairydog6472 a turbo s is also a GT.
