Solved all my drum tracking problems instantly. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent!
Dude! This is gold. I was using TouchDaw but this one is amazing!
Thanks so much! You made such a complete tutorial on this, I really appreciate how well you taught me this cool workflow improvement!
Glad you liked it!
This is SUPER handy and it was so easy and fast to install. Thanks!
🙏
I was using my phone flawlessly everyday with the Cubase remote until the new iOS update. Crazy ! Going to check out the Avid control. Thanks for putting it on my radar !
You’re welcome.
Was considering a midi controller or touch screen monitor, but the avid control app with Cubase did the job…greatly appreciated 👍
That's great to hear! Saved you some cost ;).
Awesome. Thank you for this!
You are welcome!
Brilliant - thanks for sharing this. Love technology.😀
You are welcome!
Thanks for this! I have been looking for a useable app for awhile, and this one looks decent.
Check it out and see if it works for you. 👍
Good to know there is an alternative! I still use ICPro on my first generation iPad mini with iOS9. Works like a charm! I never really used it as a mix-help but mainly to start and stop recording and/or undo recording.
Exactly the way I used to use it. Don’t have an old iPhone anymore though 😉.
Using the EUCON protocol for my Avid Artist Control + Mix units. Works flawlessly since years.
Yes that’s why I have high hopes for the protocol. But because it’s used by many other control surfaces as well.
great idea, my situation of recording in a vocal booth is exactely the same so I will definitely try this, thanks for this idea and all the good work!
Hi Ruud, yes give it a try and see if it works for you!
Saved me an hour figuring it out - it works ! Tks
Excellent!
Thank you very much for this huge tip! Also, it is possible to do more than simple things like moving faders, you can have great control on Cubase. Thank you again.
You are welcome!
Just viewed this, very usefully.😊
Thank you!
this worked - thank you!
Great 👍
top top top, Un grand grand merci Tony From France
Merci, merci !!
You missed one very important setting, in the Eucon pane in Cubase's Studio Setup. After years and teard of nagging, Steinberg has finally allowed us to let Eucon surfaces follow the visibility of channels in the MixControl.
Make sure that "Mirror MixConsole Channel Visibility" is ticked! Otherwise ALL your channels will show up on your control surface (app). Try scrolling though 500 channels on an iPhone screen. If that doebn't drive you mad, nothing will.
Excellent tip thanks!
Interesting, definitely trying this out
Yes please do and let us know how it works for you!
Fantastic app!!!!
Thank you
👍
Great!
Yes
Nice! Thank u!
You are welcome 🙏
I also have a Frontier Tranzport, but found that in the more recent versions of Cubase, it no longer worked. After fiddling with drivers and configuration for a bit, I finally got it to work with Cubase Pro 12, but while some of the basic functions worked, others did not, and I often found that it would become unresponsive during a session.
I have the same issue where I need to record vocals or guitars, and when I do I'm usually sitting in another location away from my desk, so I need to be able to navigate the project, record arm tracks and punch in and out remotely. Ideally my Tranzport would function reliably, as I really like that piece of gear, but that not being the case, I needed another solution. I will definitely be trying the Avid Control app out to see if it will do the job for me.
Thanks very much for the tip!
I haven't used the Frontier for a very long time so can imagine that it no longer works on the latest Cubase version. I moved to the Cubase IC Pro app but unfortunately that's also broken now, so I would say to give the Avid app a try indeed.
awesome video thank you!

Super helpfull thank you

Thank you very much🎉

Thanks, I'll give that a try. So far, I achieve the same ambition for one of the main tasks, remote stop/star with a wireless keyboard. .record, reset to zero, move to markers, set metronome on/off, set cycle on/off, expand view, reduce view etc . .
Yes that works too.
success on first try, that show how detailed is the video instruction, a free midi controller on my ipad, i’m at a lost which device to use as i have bought nanokontrol2 and xtouch one, all work wonderfully
👍
Interesting, shall have to give it a look. I already use Metagrid on an old (which is important as it means cheap!) iPad. Metagrid doesn't have the feedback that this App has but it is totally customizable so you can have any commands (and macros, PLE etc) running from it. AND it locks to Cubase and doesn't lose focus even if you move away from Cubase. With this one on my phone and Metagrid on the iPad it could be the best of both for me. Cheers!
There was a way to avoid the focus problem with the Avis app too. See my pinned post.
Thank you brother
Very useful video
Happy to help
@@LanewoodStudios God bless you 🙏 ❤️
Downloaded on android mobile and android tablet. Works perfectly with Cubase 12 Pro 😁
Excellent!
Have you tried this app yet? How does it work for you?
Just a little addendum based on some additional information I got from the EUCON Product Manager/Designer (thanks Eddie).
1. The link in the registration e-mail that you get after login into the app should now be fixed. But in case you missed it, it is supposed to go to: avid.secure.force.com/pkb/articles/faq/Avid-Control-Support
2. In the video I show how the controls on the app disappear when Cubase loses focus. That's something that you can avoid by a setting in the EuControl application that's running on your PC/Mac. If you go to the 'Assign' page, there are three checkboxes at the bottom. If you check those, the app keeps its connection to Cubase even when another application gets the focus on your desktop. Nice!
Love your videos! Now all we need is an app to control the control room CUE mixes, so people recording at the studio can setup their own levels.
Thank you!
Brilliant, it works very well on Android too, tested just now on a Win 10 pc! Thank you so much for all your tutorials!
You're welcome!
Thanks for the information.
Seems cool. Was about to create a Avid account. Then they asked for my address & phone number so I uninstalled it.
I'll stick for TouchDAW for now.
Need to check that out as well then.
As a Cubase IC Pro user I thought I was the only one whom had this issue. I First started noticing the issue with one of the iOS 16 Betas. As I am a iOS software developer during the day I have come across this issue with iOS 16 in project I am working on. So I know exactly what needs to be done in order to fix it.
If I was to guess Cubase IC is not using much of apples UIKit to render there UI and if you are not using the ui orientation information from what is passed to your controller in your view controller to calculate your render it will render in the wrong direction.
Thanks for commenting and you technical insight. Maybe give Steinberg a tip :).
cool share!
Thanks!
I have already test it and it´s really easy, you install it and it´s already working and FREE, but I don´t usually need to control remotetly Cubase transport or Mixer what I use much more are shorcuts and this section isn´t so well implemented in Avid control so I replaced it with Touch Portal which runs in any old tablet and you can create a deck with all your key commmands, macros and PLE with nice buttons, plus you can also create a transport bar asociated to midi remote, though need some learning first, not as straightforward as Avid.
Thanks for the tip 👍
Steinberg just updated the IC Pro App to version 1.2.3 on December 14th 2022. Would love to see a review of it. Hopefully they fixed the bugs that were holding it back.
Yes thanks, I have a video about it this Friday 🤫😉.
Aaaawesome. Who knew.
Give it a try!
I don’t seem to have this problem with the icpro on my iPad, but I haven’t tried it on my iPhone. I will give it a look and get back to you but it seems to work fine for me and that was only a month ago.
Ok thanks, maybe there has been a fix.
Hey man, thanks so much for this!! It actually works great, the only thing I couln´t find is in the monitoring section, how to adjust Cue mixes when using contriol room, maybe somebody has an idea...
Greats that it works for you. Haven’t tried those cue mixes myself yet so indeed maybe someone else has. I also have a link to the manual in the description. Maybe that can help.
you just saved me! i was installing the wrong option. not the S1 S3 /Dock/Control one.
Great 👍
Installed, everything works, thanks!
Great!
he super cool!
dank je well :)
Graag gedaan!
@@LanewoodStudios I just installed and run in a problem unfortunately...
In the studio setup it says EuCon not found, even tho I just installed, I will play around, but maybe you know the trick?
🤔
@@Y42 sorry, no tricks. I just had to try it once and it installed correctly. Maybe check the link to the manual in the description as I believe it contains some troubleshooting advise. Hope you get it working!

but I am running Win11 so… probably my own fault choosing that OS :D
Thanks for this great info! Can you tell me the name of the program to show your iphone on windows screen. I searched for it but couldn't find it.
You’re welcome. Its called Reflector.
Great tip! 👍👍👍👍👍
I’ve searched for remote apps a lot but never found any good. (In fact almost none at all.)
Hope this will work for Bitwig too.
If anyone knows, please tell.
Give it a try!
I got this on my old iPad. Need to figure how to customize. I did see a UA-cam Vid on that years ago though.
Let us know any tips and tricks you learn 😎😉.
thanks for that amazing Video. Avid Control is nuts for Cubase. So I don have to buy icPro.
Great that it works well for you!
Hi thanks a lot for this usefull video :)
Do you know where are the cues?
Because I rehearsall with my bandmates and each of them have his own cuemix, it will be great if they can adjut themself
Cheers :)
You are welcome. There’s a lot of talk about cue mixes in this forum thread: forums.steinberg.net/t/avid-control-app-is-everything-ic-pro-should-have-been/138521
Thanks for the great video, and I have a question, how can I Invert phase on FX send ?
You mean on the remote app or in general?
When you mean in general: An FX channel is just a regular channel in that it contains a pre section when you push the e(dit) button on the track. In that pre section you can invert the phase.
@@LanewoodStudios Thanks for the reply and yes I know this method but I watched the video of Dan Worrall and he was working on a harvester and I liked the content of the video and this is the video link youtu.be/ QyZbIbjvQVE I hope you help and thank you again 🙏🏼💙

never thought of this but looks like a good idea. one question though, can you use this for mixing more than one fader at a time?? or am I just stupid!!
I think that is more a limitation of touch screens right? I assume you can move more than one fader at a time on the more professional control surfaces that cam be linked by the same software.
@@LanewoodStudios 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much for this very helpful and clear instruction. Just one question: is it possible to install it on Windows 10 and use the Avid Control App on my iPad?
Yes I’m using it on Windows 10 myself as well. And iPad is even better than on iPhone.

I like reaper's implementation of this better. It does it though a web browser. No app required. The artists can even log in and control their cue mix. Everyone just needs to be on the same WiFi network.
Sounds great!
You actually can tell the Controlapp to stay in Focus, you just have to activate it in the eucon app. On the Mapping page at the bottom.
Yes I added that in the pinned comment 👍

I use open stage control, free and you can make both simple and complex controls and work using any browser capable device you should give it a look
Never heard of it, thanks.
@@LanewoodStudios you should give it a look it is open source project, free and have more possibilities
I used many apps before like touchosc and metagrid and everyone has advantages but I found open stage control more customizable
You can use IC Pro with your browser of your mobile without download any app in your mobile.
Thx bro. Is it possible to control Midi CC with iPad? When yes, then how?
I have no experience with that. I don’t have an iPad. Maybe someone else can help.
How works the Connecticut between Smartphone and PC? Bluetooth, WLAN or cable ? What Do i need on my PC for a connector?
It works via WiFi. When you follow the installation instructions all necessary software on your pc will be installed. I believe I mention in the video which software you need to install as well.
Hi, thank you for this great tip.
I was able to get it working for Cubase Artist 11, where EUCON appeared in the add-device-list within the Studio Setup.
I used a Asus chromebook as a tablet-connection!.
However , sadly in Cubase Artist 12 the EUCON device didn't show up in the list.
I Any ideas how to solve this?
Ruud Jeursen
Hmm, it seems weird that it is there in version 11 but not in version 12. It's definitely not a general version 12 bug because it works in Cubase 12 Pro for me. Maybe check the Cubase forums like e.g. this thread: forums.steinberg.net/t/eucon-not-working/771771
I think you need Pro to use Eucon.
That looks really handy. I wonder why Avid would make a free app that helps Cubase be better. What am I missing?
You can see the power of EUCON for free and then maybe buy one of the Control Surfaces to go with it and really open up possibilities :-)
They sell hardware controllers that work on the same protocol (EUCON).
Do advanced video for TouchOSC
I'll put it on the list
Thanks a lot for your video I've got a problem following your guide: I installed avid control on my iPad but EuControl did not detect it. so there is nothing to add to the My Surfaces List. can you help me with this please
That’s unfortunate. Please check the link to the manual in the description. There is some troubleshooting in there I think.
@@LanewoodStudios ok thanks
Gonna try something like this. Just don't have enough room to have my laptop as close as I want so I gotta leeeeeeeeean over and try not to fall over if I need the key board.
Yes give it a go. It’s free.
I’ve tried using it on a tablet next to my Avid control surfaces until about a hear ago and stopped because of stability issues with Cubase.
When reaching a certain number of tracks, and switching to the mixer page, the app would simply crash.
At that time, I’ve shared example projects, log files and information with an Avid expert who was able to reproduce the problem and he was hoping that it would be solved in future releases.
I’ve tried those newer releases several times but the problem wasn’t solved.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. I haven't notice those problems my self yet, but haven't used it extensively either. Let's hope they get all of that fixed at some point!
Hi thanks for the video. I have managed to get it working on my Iphone 8. However, the Softkey pages don't seem to be accessible. I see a "page 1" icon but I cannot click on it or swipe to another page. Any idea what I'm doing wrong. Thank you!
I'm using Cubase 11 on a Mac
No sorry I don’t know what’s going on. Maybe check or ask on the forum to see if people have the same problem or check the documentation. They do provide a troubleshooting section.
Can you use this with Cubase 12 midi remote and trigger custom macros from just a button push? Can you run this via USB so no Wi-Fi?
I haven’t dived into those particular aspects so unsure.
Yes! This is possible with C12 Midi Remote and Macros trigger.
Hi, nice vídeo by the way… but there’s something probably I’m doing wrong… on my cubase I can’t find EUcon on “add device” what am I missing? Can you help. Thanks

Damn. I wish I could add a screenshot. I've installed the Eucontrol, but before this I installed the SKI adapter thing for Cubase IC. Then I found this video & thought I'd give the AVID Eucontrol a try. Well hell.... at this point I'm thinking paying the $20 for Cubase IC & fighting with that damn setup would be much easier. I've gotten the Cubase SKI to show up under the devices list in Studio Settings, but for the love of all good music, this Eucontrol is not showing up. All this, and for what? A remote control so that I don't have to turn around & fiddle with my MacBook Pro? I'm almost ready to say screw this bull.
There’s a link to the documentation in the description of the video. It also contains a troubleshooting chapter. That might help.
unfortunately you need wifi on your computer for it to connect to your phone, which makes it not work for shows
Yes you need to be able to reach the computer that is running your daw and that will probably not work if your phone cannot connect to your local network. but you can setup your own wifi network on a show as well of course. When I play with my band, our mixing board also has a wifi access point built in for example that we use to control our in-ear mixes via an app on our phones.

Nice app. Luckily my IC PRO still works without any issues for years now, also in C12, still on my old ipad4 as well on my new iphone. So I don't get it. I see your IC PRO does not find your computer, could be the steinberg SKI ? Or maybe a Windows or internet connection issue between the two devices.
That's weird that it is still working for you on the latest iOS because there's quite a lot of complaints about it. I can try reinstalling the SKI remote stuff to see if it solves anything. Maybe they've updated it recently.

Better remote control app?
@@LanewoodStudios Better? It works at least. I continually get "EUCON Client can not access the Bonjour service and will now exit." when trying to use what you are describing. Steinberg should have an Android remote app or at minimum comment on a fix for the error I just listed, which seems to be pretty common when you do a search.
@@ryevick Ah ok, you’re using the avid app with Studio One. I thought maybe Studio One has its own app for remote control.
I’m surprised that your installation starts complaining about Bonjour because I thought that was only required for running the Steinberg Cubase IC Pro app. But maybe it is installed under the hood by the EUCON software as well.
If I look at this post, it seems to be related to the Bonjour Service no longer starting automatically: forums.steinberg.net/t/eucon-client-can-not-access-the-bonjour-service-and-will-now-exit/790850/2
