Congratulations to Dan Carter for a sublime final and last game in the black jersey, a legend and humble guy - couldn't ask for a better player. And yes, my congratulations must go to even Richie McCaw on an outstanding career, for winning not only one but two world cups and leading by example each week.
I won't deny I'm gutted, but I'm proud of the Wallabies for giving it their all.
The only positive I can take out of this (as a Wallaby fan) is that it took the best team in the world to beat us lol.

I remember watching Carter being forced to miss out of the RWC2011 finals due to a hamstring injury. Watching him almost in tears at the press conference was heart breaking. But he chose to turn that setback into industry and stayed in the game for another shot at fate. Today his dreams came true.

i live in the usa, so I've never had any exposure to rugby ever in my life. all I've grown up with is american football. watching this, makes me really wish rugby was more of a thing here, this seems so much more fun than our football and would have loved to have had an opportunity to play this growing up. I think i would also much rather be watching this on Sunday's than our football lol.

Boks match so well up against the All Blacks but to their credit they showed up. I think people forget how decent the depth is in NZ. Their bench are like starters they just maintain the gear through-out the match. Needless to say deserving winners and great RWC.

NZ were deserved winners. Best team of the whole tournament that combined so well between forwards and backs, played with an extremely high level of skill and composure throughout the knockout games, and were led by a fantastic captain in McCaw. Well done to McCaw and Hansen for their gracious and generous words to the Australia in the post-match interviews.
Full respect to the Wallabies who had a great tournament and came back strongly in the 2nd half like most people would expect. Nice touches by Moore and Cheika who were respectful and humble in defeat. The WB's future looks bright indeed and they will build nicely for the next RWC.
Surely Dan Carter has cemented himself as the best first five to ever play the game. Well deserved Man of the Match, and my personal player of the tournament. And McCaw for being the best flanker and captain of the modern era.
And thank you to England and Wales for hosting the best RWC yet. Watching from home, it looked like the atmosphere was electric and very enjoyable at each and every game. My parents attended the All Blacks games against Argentina and Namibia, and loved every moment. Well done.

Ben Smith still played awesome in this game
I love Ben Smith but even he was nervous due to those two tries that Aussie scored as a direct consequence of his sinbinning. The second try occured due to space existing in behind the ruck, where Ben usually would have been covering. He (and everyone else) would have been devasted had we lost. I am pleased he setup our last try. That All Black team was filled with superstars ( both old and new) who still played as a team, so thankfully we overcame this. Dan Carter played the game of his life. He was superb.

Polynesians have made a wonderful contribution to NZ rugby from grass roots thru to ABs no doubt, but the All Blacks success is down to more than just Polynesians. Btw, the All Blacks don't steal players to play for NZ, its a choice the players make freely....if you have a beef with that then take it up with Fekitoa or Naholo

I have a lot of respect for McCaw. Sure he wasn't the cleanest player in the world but he had great discipline, a great approach to each and every game he played (he never mentioned anything about any injuries he'd play through) and he had a lot of respect for everyone on the pitch, including the official. Just looking at 1:53 the vast majority of captains would've tried talking to Owens and making up an excuse or something, but McCaw just accepted he was the man in charge, listened, didn't shake his head or argue and let him make the call. Shame there aren't more players in the world like him. From an England fan.

2015 was an amazing year for us Aussies and our Kiwi brothers. ANZAC Centenary year with both countries playing in the Cricket and Rugby world cups and getting 1 each. I'll admit the best team won in both cases. Proud of the Wallabies, people wrote them off early as non contenders which was the same as the Kiwis cricket team. Well done to all I reckon.

This was the best final so far as you had two teams willing to attack and play open rugby, unlike previous finals where one team would be negative and play 10 man rugby. The worse was the 2007 final, that was dire shite.

@@Tagikakibau ,that's just some examples NZ during 2015 and 2022 have won more world cups than any other country and if you take their population into account they're the best sporting nation in the world by a country mile it's 2022 and they're world champions in all their main team sports including the second biggest sport in the world cricket.
As a Kiwi this is my favourite match between the All Blacks and the Wallabies.
Both the Wallabies and All Blacks were significantly stronger sides in 2015 compared to now. I never gave Australia credit for how good their team was but looking at the bench alone shows the depth they had at the time.

I hope they keep up this steam and aim for the next world cup as well but all blacks are loosing six good players including McCaw, Carter and Nonu. Their contribution to winning this match is plain to see, Carter alone scored enough to even up what wallabies scored and I still remember all the missed penalties and conversions last world cup when Carter was injured. The players taking over their positions have a lot to live up to if they are going to be anything like this golden team. But that's four years away so let's just chill and celebrate this victory for now :D
+Am RahRah Yep they will be missed, but as always new players will come through with equal greatness and carry on the All Black legacy.
+Am RahRah Yeah next captain will hopefully be Sam Cane, although he probably won't be as great as Richie I'm confident he can still lead a great All Blacks side for many year to come. Also it's great we have players like Malakai Fekitoa, who is still improving, ready to full the No.12 or 13 jersey, along with heavy competition in New Zealand for the job. The depth of New Zealand rugby is envied overseas.
