Even the fastest sector times have their 'moments' (like Deano did at 4.00, charging through Black Dub). It shows just how close to the limit these top guys are pushing to - in order to stand at the top of the podium. Phenomenal stuff.
It's almost impossible to fathom how fast this ride is. I almost can't believe that the footage was not sped up, if not for the timer at the bottom right.
When you watch onboards of Hickman he is much faster in the mountain section than anyone I have seen and Harrison is faster on the road section. The two are amazing, Then someone like McGuiness, Dunlop and Harrison were quick throughout. Just not as quick as these two.
How you can remember this course & ride at these speeds is beyond belief. I do so wish we had an international series of TT races just like the MotoGP has international circuits. Somebody, please make it happen.
There was that idea floated around a few years ago. There was a race proposed off the mainland Canada. Cape Breton TT. The idea was to combine the new Canadian TT with the Isle of Man and one other venue to be determined for a three-race Tourist Trophy championship series. Of course the Canadian TT idea never got further than the proposed piece of paper it was written on thanks to a totalitarian government. Which of course is more evident than ever what Canada has turned into. A despotic authoritarian state. As I have been saying for the past year the TT's days are numbered. The Global parents are working hard to eliminate such events for economic and so-called health and safety reasons. The aim is to destroy economies and control people through Health passports. Such people will no longer be allowed to take any sort of risk. All one has to do is just pay attention to what has been happening this past year throughout the world and what the world economic Forum has planned. There really is only two ways out. Killing the global tyrants or spreading ass cheeks and going along
@@tropickman They only thing they have is the TT game. They have no simulators like in F1. That is not a big money sport. they do laps atter laps in the traffic in hire cars or their regular bikes.
Not sure how or why, but as a harescramble-GNCC racer it would only take 1-2 laps to memorize a 3-9mi course.. I can’t remember where I put my keys, but I can remember sections from tracks 10yrs ago 💁🏻♂️
What's even more impressive is that they can do it for 6 laps, the sheer stamina and concentration, and a good deal of these sectors were done in the last two of those laps it boggles the mind.
Hicky definitely would have got the 136 if he wasn't held up so much on that last lap, if not he would have been very close to it.. I'm a huge fan of Dunlop but I don't think he has a 136 in him, he has yet to break the 134 barrier.. although if the Ducati was set up right I wouldn't be surprised if he hit the 136. Weather is everything though at the TT, won't see any records broken unless they weather like 2018 again

I guess I'm surprised that the "perfect" lap is just 7 seconds less than Hicky's current lap record. Just shows how good that lap was. He couldn't have been much slower than Harrison's first 2 sectors. It'd be nice if the camera had some motorised lens wiping system to get rid of the dead fly mucking up the view ! Will we see a 16:35 is real life ? From the video here it is theoretically possible, but then there's back markers ( especially towards the end of the race), weather conditions, and managing to keep up that level of concentration for 16:35.7 ! I reckon 136 MPH could be broken on lap 2 , in perfect weather conditions, by someone with much more bravery and skill than I have , my best lap on the PC game is 19:10 , and I don't even have to worry about falling off on that !
He was very much slower than Harrison on the first two sectors even in the pits this crew told him “He just pulls four to five seconds on you on the first two sectors”.Thats a big gap in racing
Would love to see split screen of hicky and deano last lap of senior with footage started both at start finish line, would show where one is quicker than the other
Probably in the next few years. I have no doubt that the TT will be forever eliminated in a decade or two. The tyrants in charge are hard at work to shut down many events that are deemed dangerous. Risk has become a pejorative in a nanny State Society. The authoritarian tyrants are looking to shut down and control Society in every aspect. Events like the TT will no longer exist. Unless of course the masses rise up and start to exterminate these new Nazis of the fourth Reich
Would love to see the next best sector time so we can see how much faster they are than the other. It would be interesting to see how much time Hickman or Harrison need to make up. Hickman is just too strong on the mountain for anyone else. Its like short circuit and he is a good short circuit rider
Hicky changed something around for 2022 he was already ahead after first sectors. The thing to remember is also fuel consumption. Hicky explains some stuff really well around picking your fights to avoid running out of fuel. they live a a knifes edge of fuel versus weight. Also Deano broke the record in 2018 just to be broke literally seconds later by Hicky. The stars aligned in 2018 for perfect conditions.

2018 was en exceptional year as far as racing conditions went, if I'm not mistaken I think Dunlop was either nursing an injury or was in a disagreement with his sponsors and bikes and changed them up, but taking nothing away from Harrison and Hickman they have pushed the yard stick that bit further, Micheal ain't finished or declining just yet, 2022 should be interesting should the weather and track conditions resemble that of 2018 and hopefully all riders fit and able
Hickman's lap was phenomenal! But we have to remember : That "perfect lap" is not a perfect lap. If you'd calculate the fastest sections of the track with say, every 3 corners, and you added those times together.... I'm betting the perfect lap time would decrease by 5 more seconds... Because even though those 6 sectors by Hickman and Harrison were damn good, each sector had small things to improve. And don't get me wrong, I have insane amount of respect to these guys and the sectors they were able to put together. But we have to remember: There's ALWAYS room for small improvement.
Both of their laps would have been faster had it not been for backmarkers. Haven't seen Deans lap but Hickman lost a lot of time especially thru Kirkmicheal.
@Jessey Hunt I mean you can catch me at the newcomers for MGP next season which is the easiest way to get there (still not easy but thats the point).
