2nd test day and the AWD problems were proven to be sorted. A new personal best and a few good close races with v8 muscle cars. 60ft times with new tyres should improve and an 8 second pass may be in sight.

I'm quite impressed with the Quaife box it must be said. It's such a nice positive operation and it's really quiet too which I wasnt expecting atall. It's even quiet at idle. The dog boxes I've seen before this one were really agricultural
By far my favourite mk3 ever I've had a couple myself out of interest how crazy was it to fit the 5 pot mate is it still on the mk3 subframe guessing a vr6 one or ? Did you run the vovlo box to start with or ?
Pleased you like it 👍It was quite involved to fit the engine yeh but it's on a vw subframe. The engine is extremely long so I had to cut out the chassis legs both sides to get it in. It's always been a volvo gearbox, the std volvo gearboxes are realy strong compared to a vw box. 800hp long term isnt a problem and it was holding together very reliably before I went sequential.
@@VolvoT5Golf appreciate the info mate credit to you it's insane n nothing beats the 5 pot sound I'm in 2 minds to do another mk3 n was looking got vr6 turbo again but this is so much cooler out of interest would you do another swap for a customer totally understand if not just thought maybe worth an ask as this is just insane, guessing the t5 parts are out there as that inlet n turbo manifolds are a work of art 😍
@@christopherbostwick3054Theres some stuff available but the inlet and exhaust manifolds on this I made all them. This whole setup is my work top to bottom. I'd do another but the customer would need an open check book as it's a gross amount of man hours. Nothings compatible and everything is custom.

Hello Bro I'm from Brazil, I watch a youtuber from Brazil Diego Faustino 68 (my favorite youtuber) he is developing a golf GTI mk3 with vr6 engine and audi s3 gearshift with houdex, but he doesn't know how to adapt in golf, it would be amazing if you shared the experience with him, he developed a really cool project the first turbocharged Honda CB1000 in Brazil.
Theres 2 options. Take a jig off the donor axle car and transfer into the golf - Lots of fabrication, or import a syncro axle and modify the axle to fit the haldex unit.

Yes definately! I can see room for improvement with just a little fettling. The 60ft was only 1.57 on that day which is poor for this.
