Beyond just Anime, they are handsdown my fav couple of all times. They’ve got everything right, from the witty banter, instant chemistry, amazing dynamic, a firm trust in each other built gradually with time and a romance that spans across time and space. And the plot of this series handles their romance perfectly. This isn’t a romance centred anime but its easily among the best done romances in Anime. And its not the teenage cheesy type either but a mature one that involves not just their passionate feelings but also of an equally amazing work relationship. Her meticulous resourcefulness goes perfectly with his eccentric ingenuity- Perfect Partners-in-crime. Following closely, my other favs would be Holo X Lawrence (Spice and Wolf), Senjougahara X Araragi X Shinobu (Gatari series) and Hachiman X Yukino (Oregairu).

Depression and elation are core part of Steins;Gate, even after watching the anime for the 6th time during past 2 weeks it still doesn't feel old, i even went bit nuts this time and played all the VN's, watched everything (animes, movie, the stage play), listened to the Drama CD's (with english transcripts, i'm still not that big of a weeb to understand japanese fluently) and read the mangas, even that butchered one and i have to say that this time my PS;GDS (Post Steins;Gate Depression Syndrome) is the worst it's ever been, if i said that Steins;Gate is an absolute pinnacle of perfection, it still would be an understatement of ~13,7 billion years of the universes current time of existence.
I've wondered about that. Kurisu tears Okabe apart in the alpha timeline, insisting time travel is impossible. But in the beta one, Amadeus isn't entirely closed off to the idea, and we know what happens when Kurisu tries to share her theory with her father. So I suspect Kurisu's stubborn opposition in the alpha timeline directly relates to how she sees her father.
Kurisu actually was researching time travel before she met okabe. The reason she no longer does that is because her father steals her work. So she has stopped her research in time travel. In the beta worldline, that event is yet to occur. Thankfully, okabe saved her
She is all alone, her friends are in the US, she's just back in Japan to do her conference, and she becomes friends with this guy and his friends. It's better than being alone in her hotel room right?
I like that at the start of the series the series itself admits how silly the idea is, but it's completely in-story. Kurisu completely destroys all notion of time travel, but then almost immediately has to deal with the fact that it's reality for them. With this your suspension of disbelief is not broken because the characters themselves don't believe what they see happening. It's great.
Honestly something about Steins Gate always felt like it lended itself to cosmic horror for me. Even little things like the pseudo-supernatural experiences Okabe has with Mayuri after meddling with time too much. I feel like you could branch off of Steins Gate into a paranormal narrative and it would entirely track with the shows themes, tone and approach to science.

It's also the memory of it that gave Steins;Gate 0 its added pathos. Okabe was missing a "Christiiiiiiina!"-shaped hole in his heart. It brought into relief how much Amadeus both was and was not Kurisu.
I'm very glad this series ended on a happy note, and the implications of them becoming a couple are obvious to the point of the show giving a text box outright saying it. I mean he flat out confesses twice in the entire series. (Counting episode 25 ova) It's rare to find anime as masterfully crafted as one like this, and get a sweet ending with the main couple.
What makes me wonder is that what if he always was right, and it's his Steins reading that's causing him to have parts of future, present and past sprinkle into his subconscious

That part of Steins;Gate 0 confused me. Kurisu in the alpha timeline sent the D-Mail "Don't come in" from Okabe's phone, only to receive it in another timeline because she had Okabe's phone? And then she says that line, but Okabe, Daru, and Mayuri are all alive in the lab, so I'm confused.
I cringed so much and wanted to drop this when I saw the first 10-13 episodes but later realized how much I longed for it after seeing Okarin switching timelines and getting broken by the second. This anime needed patience and it was sure to repay it in an emotional way
I liked the interactions they had to be honest it made them feel like all like really close friends, then when the later episodes hit Okabe realizes the mistakes and horrors of time travel and that time shouldn’t be messed with. Thus his character evolves and he becomes more relatable. A man who has lost many things and strives to regain what he has lost. Not to mention I thought the beginning episodes were funny and charming lmao

I get the following episodes are not exactly "fast paced" but why would you want the mystery to be solved right away? Things are better when they are well thought out. Also, the immersion of this show is one of the greatest selling points, I always loved the way the cast interacted with each other. While watching this I was never bored, instead I was trying to learn all I could while also having a blast with the cast!

That's understandable since this one is animated, while the vn is just still shots.
Kurisu especially, yes. They messed up her hair completely in the anime, and the worst is that the new color became the new canon. The rest are really not that bad.

@@AtharvaShekatkar In the visual novel is even sader because in the timeline where it happened okabe and Amadeus didn't meet, implying that Amadeus activated reading Steiner before getting turned off.
That part of Steins;Gate 0 confused me. Kurisu in the alpha timeline sent the D-Mail "Don't come in" from Okabe's phone, only to receive it in another timeline because she had Okabe's phone? And then she says that line, but Okabe, Daru, and Mayuri are all alive in the lab, so I'm confused.

I cringed so much and wanted to drop this when I saw the first 10-13 episodes but later realized how much I longed for it after seeing Okarin switching timelines and getting broken by the second. This anime needed patience and it was sure to repay it in an emotional way
I liked the interactions they had to be honest it made them feel like all like really close friends, then when the later episodes hit Okabe realizes the mistakes and horrors of time travel and that time shouldn’t be messed with. Thus his character evolves and he becomes more relatable. A man who has lost many things and strives to regain what he has lost. Not to mention I thought the beginning episodes were funny and charming lmao
Its funny that if you actually found the series to be cringe you'd drop it after the 3rd Episode.
@@snake2305 I dont blame him, the first few eps of this anime is really slow and if you were not recommended by a friend/not a fan of Visual novels you would have dropped this show after 3-4 eps
@@quangtrungnguyen2885 I never understood how people called this anime slow. In the first episode alone, you get ensnared into a mystery of defying death. I get the following episodes are not exactly "fast paced" but why would you want the mystery to be solved right away? Things are better when they are well thought out. Also, the immersion of this show is one of the greatest selling points, I always loved the way the cast interacted with each other. While watching this I was never bored, instead I was trying to learn all I could while also having a blast with the cast!
