@poussins1000 I lived in France for nearly 10 years and spoke fluent French but it really is very difficult to lose the English accent...no shame at all Jane...I understand, and I also understand why it is difficult to remember the "le" et "la" .Bravo Jane...you never lose your dignity ! BTW...this is about Serge Gainsbourg.....he probably felt the same when Jane fell in love with him....but she couldn't say that about herself and so she spoke of Brigitte Bardot.
yes , in france , we tend to mock at jane birkin s english accent, but some people never loose their accent some do that s how it goes, i always have a slight french accent but i don t care , and accent r relatively nice , i love scotish accent, and scous( liverpool accent) in french english accent for gal is sexy, also arabic, african, italian yes grammar is a drag in french , no logic, feminin for a mouth and masculin for a nose? to me birkin is far more sexy than bardot even without accent
J adore J.Birkin. Sa gentillesse son accent sa compréhension sa simplicité. Serge Gainsbourg a eu de belles femmes Bardot and Birkin entre autres. Sa timidité ses regards doux peut être ont ils pu séduire ?L attirance souvent ne s explique pas.

BB a goûté à tous les râteliers. Il lui écrivait des chansons donc ça lui conférait un certain « charme » ou « pouvoir « sur elle j’imagine et elle s’est laissée aller à tomber « amoureuse « . Having an accent means that you probably speak more than one language. The people who mock accents are a bunch of ignorant assholes.
