haha!...i got dead ends, ain't shaved in years..dog b shedding coat and dirt..on my southern yellow pine floor...only relief i got ...play my guitar...live at the dead end of a road..top of the hill here...so, if i make a fire....it's a fire on the mountain!!
@nowyoushred is the man!!!!! Saving my life over here. Just bought a guitar a year ago and already understand numerous scales and how to apply. You have helped!!!
I have never been a fan of the dead. This is becoming my favourite jam track. Might be part of the the fact I have to do do a little “smoking” for a pain issue but whatever. All the best.
@@nowyoushred I was always more into Zeppelin, Floyd, etc. but over the last 10 years the Dead have become my favorite band. Jerry wasn't in your face or showy at all so it was easy for people to underestimate his brilliance. Now I realize there's an understated brilliance to his playing and writing and with the improv you have hundreds of versions of their great songs to listen to. It took me a while to really get into the Dead, but now that I've put in the time they are amazing. I'd love to hear your version of Franklin's Tower and Eyes of the World.
For 30 years I've just played the minor pentatonic blue scale (I just jam by myself). Could never really get into other scales. With this backing track & staring at a "B Mixolydian" scale (2 octaves only...lol), dare I say that I'm playing something different and cool. What a great surprise! Thanks for the track and info!
would love to hear your take/see your visualizations on a "reba" jam. which I think is Eb > F, Eb Lydian works really well over top. usually starts soft and builds to a huge crescendo. many versions out there, but this one is pretty good ua-cam.com/video/vBBSqTWFgnI/v-deo.html @@nowyoushred
What a coincidence. I just listened to a few backing tracks of this Grateful Dead song to jam on in the near future. Nice one Renzo!! I don't have to search further! I surely will give this a few runs. (But first the temperatures here have to be at least 10 degrees lower...)
Oh this is what I needed today. So many thanks for everything you offer us. So many gems. And they all sound amazing. Any chance, somewhere down the line, could you do a Dead - Franklin's Tower jam? A-G-D. Love you guys.
Great job as always Sir. Glad to see you're tapping the GD vein. Hope to see more (may I suggest St. Stephen or Help on the way/Slipnot?) Keep up the excellent work😁
Grateful Jam Renzo,... I'm able to stretch my abilities a bit and jam on this tune. Working on some call and answer and trying the Mixolydian up and down the fretboard. Can you do a "Shorty Jam" of you playing with this track please? I always learn a lot more watching you for 30-45 seconds than me trying to figure it out on my own. Rockin' some Dead with you in Grand Rapids, Michigan!!!
@@nowyoushred ahhh dang youre right ! Hahah I honestly have no clue about scales I noticed what I thought was the 12th fret had dot, which was 16th! I taught myself and been shredding for 18yrs. Play E Dorian over this and it sounds like Khuranghbin. Anyone want to explain that to me? What is that, B Lydian dominant or something?

😂 i can relate
I wanted to play B mixolydian but the hands defaulted to B minor penta and OH BOY IT IS SPICY
That totally works!
Jerry garcia
forgot the open E blue dot :)
GREAT TRACK BTW AND AWESOME CHART!! :)
The blue dots are the major pentatonic scale. There is no E in B major pentatonic. 😀
Thanks!
