I am doing the same exact thing, on the same exact boat! Ok not exactly, I’m also in a camper, a 2019 4x4 sprinter van and extreme e mountain bike and loving life, living the dream. I’m really enjoying watching you sail as I am working on my boat, not sailing enough. You give me the incentive to get out of Ventura and into the great blue sea, thanks for your amazing videos!
Looks like you've got the makings of a solid crew. That can be a coin toss when it comes to family, lol. Glad Captain Taylor knew how to identify the trouble by the engine and Lil brother did a good job explaining it to us.
Did the same thing after eating bad oysters in curry and then got caught in a storm. Thought I had finished being sick until I got covered in seagull crap from the morning ball... I have never eaten curry since. Good job powering through. Keep up the good work.

Stay safe and enjoy life.....I'm 76 and fly, sail and drive the World, across Sahara on a Peugeot scooter for example, camels in Egypt & Morroco, enjoy every day, every hour, every minute...
Was that a new or rebuilt old motor? There should be different warranties on them but new seals on older motor shouldn’t be leaking yet as long as it was correct seal!
When its gonna happen, its gonna happen out there. Not if, but when. What you do to understand and take action with what happens is what defines you and the passage. When we lost an upper shroud in high winds, the choices we made, the actions we took were the difference between getting dis-masted and making into a harbor/marina. Sailing is 90% calm uneventful and 10% action reaction and chaos. way to handle this 10%.
Absolutely love how you know your boat and are cool and calm in difficult situation's especially when your responsible for other crew members. Your a true inspiration and I hope that when my daughter grows up she is like you. Stay safe.
I was thinking how fortunate she was to have a stuffing box. It can be adjusted and one can even replace the packing when the boat is in the water. A dripless shaft is great until it starts leaking. And they do start leaking after some use. Then you are toast, as you need a haul out to address the problem. And there are lots of places in the world where that is not possible. I'll take a drop of water a minute when the motor is off every day.
Reality sailing makes for interesting viewing. Your knowledge and experience gives confidence to the crew and to us your supporters and followers. Great episode!
Well done captain! With a nut like that you are dealing with you may want to wrap and lock it in place with wire.... like an aircraft fitting. Like a pin used on wheel bearings nuts to keep them from turning ONLY with wire.....
Great job Captain, I think one day you will be a real sea woman!! Just joking, you are a better sailor than most out there and you look great doing it. Good luck and can't wait to see more great shows.
Prop pitch is based on type of hull , Weight and boat length. It will be matched with the engine and transmission to allow for maximum efficiency at cruise speed. Cruise speed is about 3/4 boat speed. Displacement hulls like this can only go so fast and boat length affects this maximum boat speed as well. The longer a displacement hull is, the faster it can go.
A long term watcher of Delos and La-Vaga and Nandji and after your stint with Delos, I have followed you Dear Taylor. Wonderful improvements. Now on your own vessel. Good stuff. Well done. You are growing young lady and I'm looking forward to more of your adventures. The Vids are getting better too. Bye.
It's amazing how quickly AJ is adapting to cruising. I think you have inducted another skipper there Taylor. Sorry to hear of your sickness. I was wondering how AJ and his girlfriend were doing with sea sickness. Rock on you guys. thumbs up as always.
A drip every 15 seconds is still a little too tight! Have you ever thought of upgrading to a drip less propshaft coupler ? Not too expensive, just find out what size prop shaft you have then next time you pull out , switch out the coupler!!! And put that worry away
The Bahamas have some of the clearest waters of the world. Always enjoyed cruising there. I made the mistake ... one time ... of not doublechecking a secondary tie-off line for the anchor when underway. Our saving grace was 1) knot at end of line to prevent coming thru the deck and losing it all and 2) two additional line and anchor sets we needed to use to help pull the boat off sandbar and back into channel before tide stranded us. Thanks Taylor.
💥Thank you taylor for allowing us to be part of your adventures on the boat. I always watch with great interest and pleasure. Thank you again, good sailing. And until the next . cheers🍺
Very solid management of crew and open water cruising situation awareness. Good crisis control with a rookie crew. Well done Taylor. Best of luck with your Bahamas cruise.👍😎
Gorgeous neighborhood. Can't understand why you tow your dinghy on a passage, especially since you have davits hanging and ready. You will learn from every experienced cruiser about the time that taught them to never tow offshore. Good luck.
I usually always hoist the dinghy onto the davits when going offshore. But in this instance it’s because I bought the new outboard motor and had the old motor taking up the engine stand. Can’t have the dinghy with the motor on up on the davits.
I have and do tow thousands of miles, here in the bahamas its standard due to most anchorages being just over the horizon, nothing wrong with long tows either. If you loose your dingy towing it might be a good idea to learn how to properly tow and anchor with it... and I have great, easy and expensive system for bringing the dingy easily and safetly up on deck when we wish to... no worries...
Awesome episode guy's... I get a good vibe offa your brother he is a natural behind the camara maybe he could get a boat and make his own channel that would be awesome id luv to see him and his girlfriend do that.. 🤙🤙🤙🤙
Aloha Taylor, it's awesome that your brother and his girlfriend were able to catch on to the boat and help out. Sorry you were not feeling well but looks like you got through it pretty quickly. Safe travels! Looking forward to the next video =)
Another great video glad you got things squared away always a work in progress. Sorry we missed you in Georgetown maybe we will get a chance another time. Family looks great
I'm 76, like you I have flown and sailed many adventures...stay safe and enjoy life everyday...

Great job on the packing nut and the battery jump
Shallow anchor. Was that low tide?
Awesome Taylor, great to see your family with you and having fun!! Always looking forward for your videos Taylor!! Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦.
I’m surprised you didn’t install dripless shaft seals when you replaced the motor. Enjoy the content and wish I was younger to try the sail boat life.

Hi Taylor, what pitch are your prop blades? Is it set up for quick response or speed?
Prop pitch is based on type of hull
, Weight and boat length. It will be matched with the engine and transmission to allow for maximum efficiency at cruise speed. Cruise speed is about 3/4 boat speed. Displacement hulls like this can only go so fast and boat length affects this maximum boat speed as well. The longer a displacement hull is, the faster it can go.

I’m no sailor, but have you considered putting a hole in the bottom of the boat to help get rid of the water dripping out of the engine?
Look at Cap’n Taylor teaching her bro how it works.👏👏
He’s Pumped, Super Pumped!❤
SO0oo pumped.
A drip every 15 seconds is still a little too tight!

Where’s hubby ? Oh I just heard !! Hope y’all are feeling better!
Thanks for the underwater shots. Beautiful in that water
Get a PSS shaft seal no more water drips or leaks on your prop shaft.
You don’t have a water maker?
Great vid 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Thank you!
Any idea what caused the sickness?
Staying calm is hard to do when you are in the middle of the ocean! GOOD JOB! I like your brother's youth and enthusiasm!

Good times or bad it's always an adventure. That place looks beautiful. Wish I could warp there for a few hours and hang out . Nice vid want more
