    These are my 3 “go to” mantras. They’ve gotten me through many rough patches in life and during tough events...
    1). You deserve to be here
    2). Take what the course gives you
    3). Let’s go!
    #1 - is an acknowledgement that I have done the training...therefore...I have earned the right to have / enjoy a good performance.
    #2 - every course has both its easier patches and ultimately more challenging terrain. When circumstances gets tougher...it’s ok to slow and focus on getting up the incline...conversely when the down hills come...push the pace...increase the turnover rate of your stride...”let the horses run” and take some excellent, refreshing deep breaths.
    #3 was added a few years back from a GF (who half jokingly pushes and pushes me...because from the comfort of her sideline supporting position...always thinks I can go a little faster 😀).

      oooh those are all really good! And each one can be for very different situations so you are really ready for anything on race day. I especially like #1 though and I'm going steal it :) So many of us athletes doubt ourselves no matter how much training we have done. Thank you so much for sharing. I know these will be a great help to other triathletes!
