Should I workout or train when I'm sick

It can be difficult to decide if you should workout (swim, bike, run, got to the gym, strength train with weights, etc). This can be a tough decision and you definitely dont necessarily need a day off just because you have a headache and runny nose. BUT...if you have something more serious (e.g. fever) and you keep training your likely to feel terrible and potentially cause a setback so you end...

Two piece benefits 2. More comfortable - because you can get a better fit (e.g. large top, small bottom). 2. Less restrictive 3. Could be cooler 4. Bathroom breaks are way easier One piece benefits 1. Faster in the water and on the bike 2. No waist band that could feel tight on your stomach 3. No sunburn on low back 4. On trails where there is exposure, a steep drop-off that could endanger a hiker who has physical limitations or is a child, keep them on the uphill side of the trail. When going uphill, when the drop-ff is on your right, keep children on your left side until you are past the dangerous slope. Young kids may not have the balance, coordination and awareness to safely hike along the edge of a steep slope. The Pacific Northwest (PNW) has many trails along steep slopes and cliffs and a slip over the edge can be fatal. It happens every year in OR or WA.

    As a competitive ultra runner, why am I just hearing about this now? Lol As per usual, you tri folks are years ahead of the game, for good and for bad. I have not completed a tri but I also imagine that trying to wear the race belt under a wet suit could potentially cause one to rip their racing bib when taking off the wet suit.

    Concussion is a brain injury. They can cause metabolic issues in other parts of body and immune system issues. One need to take this into account. Concussion clinic won't treaty concussion because I have symptoms of concussion. When headache and blurry vision are gone then they will treat me. Thank God vestibular ocular excercise is part of my regular regime for forty years. Still doing the but having horrible difficulty after two months. I don't watch tv don't have computer or internet and don't play on my phone.

    • @ewjtri3984

      The traffic wasn't too bad...it's a two lane road. I never felt like I was getting run off the road, but be careful as it doesnt have a coned off lane like some triathlons have. I believe there is a swim and bike road and offroad option. You definitely need a mountain bike (or gravel bike with straight bars) for the offroad version. It's a hilly course so be prepared for that.

    Hi Coach. Would these provide any advantage in a race by themselves, or conversely any downside to using them in a race? I'm thinking Full Wetsuit > Roka Sim II Pro shorts > tri shorts. Any difference in the transition maybe, although I can't believe these would be more difficult to get off than a wetsuit. Thx.

    • @ewjtri3984
      @ewjtri3984 2 роки тому

      Hey Patrick! They definitely make you swim faster because they make your hips float higher in the water. You can pull them off them off super fast. A full wetsuit would be even faster, but If you dont want to use a wetsuit with sleeves, I recommend a sleeveless wetsuit since you get most of the benefit without the arm restriction. In general, I would make the decision based on how cold the water is
