I think with your plastic pan trays, you could get the little sticky rubber feet for the bottom of the tray to keep it from sliding on your desk. If you have access to a Michael’s store, I know they use them for the back of picture frames to keep the bottom of the frame from hitting the wall. Fellow Canadian teacher here. I teach elementary school but I have a science degree and I am huge into Science Fair. I loved how excited you got over the science colouring book! I was able to get it last week! Keep up the great work!
Glad you liked it! I did a colouring space tour back in the spring but that was before I got my new Ikea furniture - maybe I should do another one for the fall. :)

Superb haul Connie and you sure deserve it after a long hard year. I’m still in the midst of exam marking and our schools in the UK finish later in July so I can’t wait to be honest! I’m craving some time to colour as at the moment I spend all my time marking so I keep to the deadlines! I’m already thinking about all the colouring things I’m going to buy with the extra money. Enjoy and take care xx

Glad you liked the video! :) I've started a page in the Brown Bear book already. :) I'm still thinking about where to use the oil pastels - we'll have to see what I come up with. ;)
+1 for folk art books, that style makes for great simple coloring. It suits flat colors with minimal blending or dimensionality. I color when I don't have the mental resources to draw, and I find myself returning to my one folk art book (from Goodwill!) over and over again.
I think that's the big draw for me, too - I love the simplicity of the colouring and the fact that simple colouring still looks great because of the wonderful line art style. :)
the square areas on your plastic and ceramic palette is for mixing a lot of paint in one place not to put the paint pan in there . There's a lot of coloring books similar to the ones you got are in the dollarama as well as the metallic watercolor paints .
Thanks for the info! I got the idea of putting the Gansai Tambi paint pans in the rectangular wells from watching a professional mixed media artist on UA-cam so I figured if she did it, it must be ok. :)

Great haul! I was just looking at the Tooli Art Amazon store and I’m pretty sure they now have pigment markers - not too many colours though. I bought the Staedtler pigment pens after you showed them and I love them! Pitt pens are next. I really like your desk….it always feels so good to re-organize! Thanks for mentioning those markers - interesting! I looked them up on Amazon and I'm not sure what to think. :) They don't seem pricey enough to be actual India ink/pigment pens - but you never know. :) Glad you enjoyed the video!
Also I agree about Tooli arts glitter pens. The tips clog easily and have to be cleaned and they are not very glittery, more metallic. Thank you for all you share. Here in the UK I’ve seen Colouring Heaven (and a few other magaziney type colouring books like Zen Colouring) on sale on the magazine racks of big supermarkets like Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
May I ask did you get duty charges for the books from south korea? I once placed an order from Jackson's (UK) to Ontario, and get charged rediculusly amount of duty fee. Thank you for the review, I am so attempting to placed an order!

Glad you liked it! I can definitely do a flip-through of the Peanuts book - I pulled it from my shelf and put it beside me to remind myself. :) Hopefully, I'll have it up in a few days!
Omg those korean books ❤❤❤❤ i am a water colour girl so… yes !! Can you put a link please 🙏 i like that line and wash style
Can do! I added a link in the description box for the video as well as a link to Shelly's video tutorial on how to order from Aladin.
Hope that helps! :)
I bought a coloring heaven book..a few years ago... at my local Independant grocery store
Interesting! So many places that sell them that I had no idea about! :)
Not finished watching all the way yet, but our Michael’s sells the Colouring Heaven books. But I will be looking at Walmart now too. Ok off to finish watching 🤣🤣🤣😊
Interesting! I always thought that the only way to get those books was by subscription - apparently, I was quite wrong! :)
@@colouringchemist I thought so too and one day I was browsing lol and saw it was excited. But it did cause me to get the subscription. So I’m thankful!!!
Oooo you got the gansai tambei granulated watercolors… wow they look so awesome ! Please test them on real watercolor paper, the difference is huge. If you want to see the real granulating effect.
I'll definitely do that - thanks! :)
Ok, I have to get the Peanuts book! Maybe two! LOL!
It really is a sweet, nostalgic book. :) Enjoy!
Here in Nebraska in the states I have seen colouring heaven magazines in our Wal-Marts and Super Targets.
Here in the UK I’ve seen Colouring Heaven (and a few other magaziney type colouring books like Zen Colouring) on sale on the magazine racks of big supermarkets like Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
So interesting!! And all along, I thought the Colouring Heaven books were only available through subscription. Learned something new! :)
May I ask did you get duty charges for the books from south korea? I once placed an order from Jackson's (UK) to Ontario, and get charged rediculusly amount of duty fee. Thank you for the review, I am so attempting to placed an order!
I do often have to pay extra duty charges from overseas companies - I suppose we have to pay the duty sometime if it isn't included in the price. :) I'm trying to remember if I had to pay duty on my last Aladin order... I think I did - maybe around $25?
Hope that helps!
@@colouringchemist thank you very much!
@@cupoflower You're welcome! :)
I thought that Fairy Tales by Emelie Lidehall Oberg was the one getting reprinted... Now I have to choose which one to get 😢
It's a bit confusing because the older book, Sagor och Sagner, is being re-released as "Fairy Tales & Folklore" - but she also has the "Fairytales" book. :) I've got the re-released book on pre-order - excited to get it in September!
Great haul ! Struggling to find the Jardins en fleurs for a reasonable price in the UK .
Oh no! You might be able to find it for a reasonable price on Lireka - here's a link that I found: www.lireka.com/fr/pp/9782501178372-jardins-en-fleurs
Hope that helps! :)
@@colouringchemist thank you Connie , thats a big help , can order now :)
@@louisepeers782 You're welcome! :)

If you haven't ordered from Aladin before, it can be a bit tricky. If you watch the videos that Shel's Colouring Journey put out, those will guide you through the order process: ua-cam.com/video/IudCzr261cI/v-deo.htmlsi=OBqzagGbFOEIU1y5
Hope that helps!
@@colouringchemist ok I will make sure to watch because I have never ordered from that site before. Thank you so much!!!
@@heatherthomas3125 You're very welcome!
Connie, I’m a minute into the video and already laughing 😂
:D Glad I could give you a chuckle! :)
My Wal Mart sells Coloring Heaven magazines.
Cool! :)
Below book by James Gulliver Hancock!!
I don't think UA-cam lets people include Amazon links in their comments so I don't see a link - did you mean this book? www.amazon.ca/Gullivers-New-Travels-colouring-world/dp/1849943419/ref=sr_1_10?crid=2NOE0FJH2Y4P0&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Q0LqhjeywYJufo1TH4Fo1Evwa9y4TnEtblO-JF8pAtIEWYxyuxZ2kVh0AoerovToLq_664SqaHou8fomQOgHzYjtSFvvbJWIKaCXfKegAv1dDS6LPmAxSwyNZXFptccyD_jfdsc02_KiIjv0z_PLCTvsDmy-ww3onOS4_JH_CYmD7jD2DK68g2v-tWSPGcsSbVC7z0cLm8IZ5wHkLuk5_ekMS3MJhEfTpcb8UfTKCrD-YNGTLGRBp3p_JRTHBnPL6oWO53j49dqUaMflHMeKs6OGwCyHJYnbYN4ja8glWbw.PaBGN4UiNq5v4icK7fypaLrMWYmt_L7E3OioFw6SE8k&dib_tag=se&keywords=james+gulliver+hancock&qid=1717643341&sprefix=james+gulliver+hancock%2Caps%2C147&sr=8-10 It looks very interesting!
Im in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Hello from Canada! :)
You sound like Maiem Balek when you talk.
Maybe it's because we're both scientists. :)
Connie: Can you please post link(s) for the Korean coloring books. TY
Absolutely! I added a link for the illustrator's page on Aladin to the description box for this video as well as a link to Shelly's video tutorial on how to order from Aladin.
Hope that helps! :)
