Substance Designer is really special piece of software, people who are good at this should be called Substance Engineers, because of the insanity of the number of nodes it takes to create something!
I'm glad to see the work that goes behind those textures I download off the Internet xD I pay a small amount for high res textures so hopefully it's compensating those artists.
Very nice way to make procedural and great looking cobblestones! Fabulous video! (Also I know it has been mentioned before (many times) in the comments but for the people that want to watch the video slow down, bottom right under the youtube video you have the little gear icon with the red HD icon, where you can set the quality of the video, you can also set the speed of the video to slow.)
This is really impressive! Though I'd love to see a version that isn't sped up so I can better see how you handles some things. Either way I really enjoyed watching your process :)
Friend, your job is very good. However, when we reduce the UA-cam playback speed, the video is flickering. Could you send the tutorial with the speed in real time? Thank you.
Terrific work man! keep it up! If you consider suggestions I think a bit of grass and mold blending on top of the rocks surface would have made it look slightly more realistic and "nature-blended". But again, it's really impressive work! ;D
That's strange... I haven't deleted anything... anyway I said that it's a custom node that I made and I uploaded it on substance share share.allegorithmic.com/libraries/2857
The heightmap_blender was a node I made a the time to nicely blend two hight maps together and extracting a map out of it. I think ppl made a better version of it but if you fancy it here it's the node, feel free to open it and/or use it :) drive.google.com/file/d/0B8SJ7nOzTWmlQWFmbTdXby1YZ1E/view?usp=sharing Hope you enjoyed the video :)
Hi there Leo Loved this video. I am trying to follow on but when I get to the hight map part, I cannot find the node used to blend the height maps. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Michael

I did all of tNice tutorials for years in Protools but watcNice tutorialng tNice tutorials for soft soft I feel like a stroke victim in a hospital bed learning to speak
Curious but how do you get such height out of your mesh? I'm hooked into the height output but still don't see a lot of height in my surface. I am using the tessellation model. Is there a setting or something I have to enable to adjust it?
In this case, I used and HQ Plane, you can find it in the default models in SD. Then I set the shader as PBR Metal etc. Tessellation (Not Parallax Occlusion), and if it's not enough you can adjust the scale of your height map on the proprieties of your material So from your viewport press on Material -> Your_material_name -> edit and on the proprieties, you will have a slide under Material Height. If still doesn't work make sure that you plugged the height in the right place, and that is black or white enough.
I feel that Substance Designer is the fastest and the most effective way to make the material we want when we grasp the software. Substance Painter takes much more time to do that and is only fasterer when distributing which area we want to put material.
That was part of a talk I made, there isn't a real tutorial a part from this video.. Anyway my website is up and running. had some problems with the host
firstly I would like to wish you well and to say a huge thank you for uploading these videos as they have been an invaluable resource to

This is absolutely insane. The power of textures is simply unreal.
This man took the "29 days remaining" sign serious
do this at the club and I will instantly marry you.
this is just wow! i love your work and details!
Haha thanks, btw is there such a club? Lol
This was beautiful. I would love to see more.
Thanks, I will record few more at some point :)

TNice tutorials man did a really good job of explaining ever tNice tutorialng ever one else don't really go into detail
Nice tutorial brother sorry I need to ask you if soft can be installe on Android?
Friend, your job is very good. However, when we reduce the UA-cam playback speed, the video is flickering. Could you send the tutorial with the speed in real time?

Awesome, beautiful, wonderful.
Unstoppable today, unstoppable today

Hey Thanks for the feedback I will try to keep in mind next time I will have to deal with that bloody grass ;)
Hey, I'm just starting to get into making soft and tNice tutorials 17 minute video helped a LOT MORE than those one hour long tutorials out
This is amazing.
I could learn to make this awesome texture if it was in normal speed :'(
(0.25 Does not really work!)
I dont know what happened through most of the video (Havent started with SD yet), but its beautiful.
indeed. You should give it a go, it will change you life forever hahaha :)
If I want to save my project in soft soft, do I have to buy it?
Is your Sculpt node a custom graph or did you get that from Allegorithmic?
Yep It's a custom one. If you can wait a bit I've just uploaded it on Substance Share so you can get it.
Jacob Betz here we go: share.allegorithmic.com/libraries/2857
Wow awesome Leo! Thank you! You just saved me a lot of time haha!
That's strange... I haven't deleted anything... anyway I said that it's a custom node that I made and I uploaded it on substance share share.allegorithmic.com/libraries/2857
bullshit
Hello, what is "sculpt node"?
merci beaucoup a toi :))
this is beautiful man
Кирилл Токарев thanks man :)
Did you use iRay for rendering the height map?
MORE!
Awesome !! and I cannot find the node used to blend the height maps

Sculptnode?
Hi there Leo
Loved this video.
I am trying to follow on but when I get to the hight map part, I cannot find the node used to blend the height maps.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Leo Iezzi you are a legend. Thank you. I love the video. It has taught me great amounts already.
Goot to know :)
Probably when I will be less busy I'll make some other ones
Yes please, This video has been paramount to me learning this software.
I look forward to seeing further products
So... how's it going?
goog job. this videw speed is to fast, can you submit slow version.thankyou.
Just slow down the youtube video in the video settings.
Wow! didn't know that
Thanks Btw ;)
I did all of tNice tutorials for years in Protools but watcNice tutorialng tNice tutorials for soft soft I feel like a stroke victim in a hospital bed learning to speak

Whats your PC specs ? Thanks

Ok, thanks, I'll look at it further.
MassiveTree your welcome if there is anything else that I can help you with don't hesitate ;)
What a shame it's going so fast. Useless for me who discovers Substance. Great Texture by the way.
crazy!
There are a lot of such programs. The nodal process itself is rather difficult to understand. There must be something else to try to make it easy.
Hi Aivar, For sure Substance Painter is more user friend than designer for sure :)
I feel that Substance Designer is the fastest and the most effective way to make the material we want when we grasp the software. Substance Painter takes much more time to do that and is only fasterer when distributing which area we want to put material.
Leo lezzi - Yes that's how it is. Only here Substance Painter can not create materials.
good job.
Thanks, Hope you enjoyed
Where can I get this tutorial? - Your website is dead?!
That was part of a talk I made, there isn't a real tutorial a part from this video.. Anyway my website is up and running. had some problems with the host
Nice work! You learnt all of that in 3 days? "29 days remaining" ;) ;)
haha no no that's the live licence that tell you basically when you are going to pay for the subscription :)
Time-lapse is not "speed..." :(
Setroid i know I should have called fast forward or something similar. Next time I'll pay more attention to the name of the video.
You can slow down a play speed to x0.25 :)
nah i'd call this a timelapse
OMG
progress. Now, two months later, I am editing for nice tutoet League teams and players, and making money off it. Keep your heads up and
Teach me senpai!
:)
Too much to tweak, anyways I respect substance
Hi Leo. Could you message me on Artstation please - I'd love to talk to you about a job opportunity.
Many thanks
lmao sa
hahahah affter 4 years i haven't even learned how to use photoshop Good how can i master tNice tutorials one xd
fuck this i quit sd
Too much nodes and work for a simple texture . No thanks
good job.
Thanksss!
