Teddy Roosevelt Assassination Attempt 1912, Things Got WILD

Teddy Roosevelt traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 14, 1912 as part of his third-party bid to win a return to the White House during the presidential election of 1912. Roosevelt headed up the Bull-Moose Progressive Party after failing to secure the Republican nomination from incumbent president William Howard Taft. He also faced Woodrow Wilson, the eventual winner and Democratic nominee.
Things almost turned tragic in Milwaukee, with Roosevelt taking a gunshot to the chest. However, he went on to give a 90 minute speech AFTER being wounded. The story is even crazier than it sounds.
