@yesseru Yesn't. Heavy metal was originally the genre's name but has since become a subgenre of metal. Bands like Cannibal Corpse, Linkin Park, and Metallica are all metal but not heavy metal by modern definitions. Depending on who you talk to they can be used interchangeably, but once you start listening to Death Metal/Black metal people start referring to it as a subgenre
metallica and slipknot is heavy metal (but Duality specifically isnt really heavy, however still metal)
