I was worried about your kidney stone. I hope you will get better soon since I always enjoy your legacy PC, Gateway, and Packard Bell restorations. I wish you the best. As for the Core 2 Quad custom built computer, that's a pretty cool machine.
Very nice XP build. I'm sure it can also run Vista well if you wanted to. I am currently working on a Core 2 Quad build that I plan on dual booting with both XP and Vista. Back in the day, I had both XP and Vista on my Core 2 Duo build with a GeForce 8800 card. It was quite the machine in its day and it ran both XP and Vista very well.
I ran across a computer that has a pentium 4 HT (hyperthread), which I don't see ever, and I don't know much about it. But I'm in the process of cleaning it because it's really dusty, I'm hoping it'll be a good XP Machine.
A Pentium 4 HT is a decent CPU for XP but I recommend a Core 2 Duo or Athlon X2 especially if you plan on doing some retro gaming. In my experience, XP ran much better on my Core 2 Duo build than it ever did on my P4 machine which both each had 2 GB of ram.
Me and my family used to have a windows 7 computer back in the day but I don't know if my uncle still has it anymore because he used to let us use it back in 2007 I think anyways
Nice 👍 Hoping to have my Core 2 Quid up and running before summer. It was a HP Pavilion Elite desktop with a Q8200 8gb of ddr3 ram but well be rebuilt in a Cool Master N200 case and get a EVGA Geforce 560ti and Audigy sound card, oh and a module psu, and ssd for 7and harx drive for xp. It was a $50 thrifting find came with montoir keyboarc, mouse and miscellaneous cables.
@RediscoveringRetro Yeah the 560ti was anice FB Market place find I forget what I paid for it, it wasn't much the seller was just looking to get rid of it. For sure it'll be a powerhouse little XP/7 retro gaming machine
I just traded a non working game gear for a win xp machine Has 1gb of ram, 128mb ATI and the best part?? Fricken Intel celeron for a CPU lol. Was surprisingly quick for a low spec system!
I love old computers. Most of us don't even need that anymore. I once read an article on the Internet about computers, where there were some statistics and many ordinary people do not use even thirty percent of their computer's capabilities, which means that most of us, except for programmers and gamers, where a stronger computer is needed in most cases and a computer like the one in the video will complete work and entertainment completely. I have a computer, that is, a motherboard that came out in 2007. Hey, that board still works perfectly fine today and plays games. Of course, not some strong ones like GTA 5 or Fortnite, but everything that such a computer can spin, it spins. GTA San Andreas, GTA Vice City yes, Scarface This world is yours yes, Quke 4 oh yes it's almost a perfect machine for me. It works. Likes for the video. 🤪
Cool to see Windows XP Media Center Edition in use! Interesting video.
