Thanks for showing us noobies what to look out for. Seeing the internals, you really get an appreciation of the quality and why these cars aren't cheap. Very impressive if you ever worked on the full scale stuff.
Thanks for the vid! Mine will be at my door this Monday, and I have yet to see anyone put out a vid for the teardown of this machine. Only a few reviews and bashing.
@@rcguygaragehey can u possibly help me diagnose my Baja Rey 2.0 I notice my front wheels are stiff and aren’t turning while pull the throttle plz help
Great wrenching video on the losi trophy truck!! Try and remove all the plastic body standoffs. They will go flying when working on the truck. I've watched a few go flying on me. Save yourself the headache of loosing one. This winter both my trophy trucks are getting the 2.0 parts. Watching what you just did tells me the parts are interchangeable. Thank you for that!!!
@@Lagzalot77 cool!! I'm looking to do front arms and all four shocks. And the tranny case for the bigger bearings. I have the SSD front diff case and rear third member for the bigger bearings.
When you overload it with grease(utter butter), the grease WILL get into the BEARINGS AND create a "resistance", drag brake effect and will cause the front end (truck) to nose dive (lawn dart) when landing a jump !!! Use very little HEAVY GREASE, UDDER IS TOO THIN , ADD A SMALL AMOUNT OF UDDER TO THE HEAVY GREASE (SMALL AMOUNT) !! THis also will happen if silicone leaks out of diff !!!!
Thanks for the in depth look at the 2.0 front end..I drive the v2 Rhino Rey almost daily and its due for repair/upgrades lol...My rear axle was shot so I updated to the 2.0 version...Confirmed direct fit but you need to buy the new outdrives, dogbones, and stub axles too...Not going to upgrade to the 2.0 front end setup...Keeping the sway bar and the front doesn't need 4 shocks like the rear does...Thinking about getting the 2.0 cage and F-100 body since my cage is broke in a few spots and my body is looking very rough lol...Love the Baja Rey it just feels satisfying to drive and watch...Working on them can be a pain lol but worth it
@@lowslowcrawlers1304 For the double shock front to fit you likely have to buy the whole cage, new body, plus the mounting buttons anyways since the front gage part is different on the 1.0...The chassis cage mounting holes are the same on both versions so yes it will fit...Only difference and why the chassis are a different part number is because the 2.0 has tiny wings by where the new front bulkhead sits like the Rock/Hammer Rey have
I would recommend, that for working on the truck, everytime its much easier to remobe the cage than the body panels. less screws and the chassis is much more accesible
I want to build some sort of support for the front clip, as I have seen in vids allot of flex of the front body panel. I know they dont stay new forever, but these machines cost allot of $$, I believe in damage prevention. Can't wait till I get this awesome looking truck. Especially since I own a 1:1 scale bumpside Ford. :)
@@Paul0088ya i notice that with a lot of the stuff we have over here 🇺🇸, however you guys have some cool stuff that we can’t get, like FTX Forza i really want one bad, however i don’t want to pay $1000 . What else is holding that engine in? I removed the 3 bolts but something is keeping the engine from dropping down. Also, can you do a video on accessing and working on the center diff? Having a tough time getting to this, even wit the cage off.
Its set perfect too...I have driven the v2 Rhino Rey very hard very often and its never stripped, chipped , or even wore down either of the pinions it comes with

Have you run the Traxxas UDR? I am kind of torn between the two. Working on my speed run video followed Earls build on the Vendetta and just got a Mad Van having fun with that too.
Oh yes the UDR is AWESOME but I've used it like it shouldn't be resulting in desperate need of rebuild and the Losi SBR is just the even bigger version and runs great 👍💯
You can but financially it wouldn't make sense as the provisions for mounting are not there you'd be better off buying either a complete new unit or possibly seeing if you could find a roller and throw your electronics in it.
Come on guy 😳 you know I can't read 🤣😂 yeah that's what I was saying from what I saw they look like there was an impression in the plastic doesn't seem like any adverse issue if anything it's allowing the motor mount to slot in tighter maybe stopping that debris from getting into the channel that I found with the motor
As far as debri getting in. That wishful thinking lol. My Super Rock Rey still gets it.If anything you may need to grind an edge down more so the door opens easier.
@@rcguygarage on the motor door glob on grease to the foam strip. 1/4 inch of grease at least, this will catch alot of dirt from getting in to the tranny gears. That is how both my Baja Rey's came from factory and I've been changing out the grease and replacing about every 6 to 8 runs.
