The power creep is inevitable, my issue is more that the accelaration that it has been going with is a bit dissapointing. The sheer amount of products designed for the commander player is too high for a format that was originally created to enjoy with your "leftover cards that have no home" , sets like commander legends, commander deck releases on every standard set... It really is unnecesary and allot of the cards in those sets let us "commander players" enjoy our time with our favourite cards less... because in 1 or 2 months there is already a strictly better version! LOVE THE CONTENT BTW! :D - JomAlters
Thanks! I sort of agree. I think there are some cool 'made for Commander' cards that actually do make gameplay more fun or interactive - e.g. Druid of Purification. But at the same time there are a lot of cards that squash creativity. E.g. Yuriko is such an obviously amazing Ninja deck commander that you'll struggle to build a unique ninja deck, since Yuriko will just do the ninja thing better. So does this mean Wizards should stop making 'just for Commander' products? I'm not sure. I do really like all the new partners added in Commander Legends, for example.
@@thecommandersbeacon1158 Personally I agree with there is not really a way to revert anything, look at the "failure" of pioneer in a way... Or Brawl... For me its more about the speed , it is starting to feel like a snowball effect. And I do like new cards and building new decks, but the games I play these days feel so weird with so many new "explosive" spells.
Maybe create a two (three?) tier Commander format. A Commander game where you can only use commons or uncommons as part of the 99. In effect, we have two already that's recognized, EDH and cEDH. Edit: Possibly adding the 2 mana mana rocks and sol ring!

Pauper EDH is a thing. It’s miserable to play IMO. Just long boring games really.
