The episode I've been waiting for! Thanks for bringing more attention to this one. I'm worried that I'll regret not grabbing the collector's box when I had the chance for a long, long time.
Joseph!! (if I'm remembering correctly) Great meeting you and we totally should get a game in soon! That Wednesday was insane, but hopefully another down the line will work! Cheers!! 😁🙌
Appreciate your honesty about your thoughts instead of just "rah rah trick takers!" My joke from the previous video was my best shot to get a laugh. Here is my favorite joke though: Why does a chicken coop always have two doors? Because if it had four doors, it would be a chicken sedan.
Hahaaaa love the joke, Daniel!! And yeah I think people have a bit of a blind love when the game is more of a diamond in the rough. Thanks a ton for the comment!!
Hey Taylor, thanks for another awesome video. Between you and Portland Game Collective my trick-taking games are growing, hahaha. I just got Bridge City Poker and am waiting for Five Three Five. I definitely am looking into Haggis next and now Tricktakers as well, hahaha. I did notice through your video you kept mentioning the word Kakumei, if I am spelling it and thinking of the right word, for the Resistance game piece so I looked up the word and Kakumei I think translates to Revolution, which totally makes sense in that game. Happy gaming!
Great review! I’m glad you did one because I didn’t want to go through the teach with all the characters 😅 but I’m glad our opinions match up. It’s easily the best produced tricktaker I’ve ever seen but I too would only recommend it to the people who LOVE LOVE tricktaking games. Although I’ve never won with them, I love playing as the Hermit. Something about the extra draw in a tricktaker I find so fun!
Yes!!! The hermit is a blast. I think a tier list would be fun for the expansion video! And thanks a ton for the awesome comment! I'm nervous I was out of left field, but it's nice to hear we match up! Cheers, EvilMrPanda!!😁🙌
Excellent explanation, I tried to read the rulebook for this a few months ago to decide if I wanted a copy and I was completely lost. Really fascinating game that looks to reward players who play it often enough to be familiar with all the combinations of powers and win conditions. I think I'll have to hunt down a copy, but I don't know if I'll find a group dedicated enough to give this game the time it needs
Thanks for those amazing words, Dene!!! Yeah I'd say the biggest thing to consider is if this will hit the table before seeking it out. It is a bear to coordinate!
Wow, I'm years away from being able to play this one, haha. Glad it lives up to the hype, though... I was just thinking recently about how long it's been since I've seen a TTTT TTTT Seal winner.
Yeah it totally is a doozy, but I think just worth it! And it definitely has been a while! I may have bumped my standards juuuust slightly haha! Cheers for the comment Jon!
Excellent explanation that make me want this game. This seems out of stock even in Japan. Anyone know if there will be a reprint or an English version (possibly with the expansions?)
I both badly want this game and realize nobody here will want to learn it. Haha. I'll probably pick it up some time with expansion(s). Looking forward to any future videos covering the other expansion(s).
@@ClaudeAndTaylor Whenever I manage moving back to near a big city again (maybe even Portland area again), I figure I'd like to have them as options when I can get back to playing with avid gamers. If not, I'm cool with supporting game designers for their cool games. I bought Blood on the Clocktower as a pre-order (barely missed the Kickstarter late pledge) even though it was $130ish and I likely wouldn't find groups for the same reason.
@@ClaudeAndTaylor Thanks for the quick response! I'm thinking of backing the KS, but I think I'll just back Haggis for now. Thanks again and stay awesome!
I want this if only for the card design and components. Though I fear rubbing those point counters together might result in nails-on-chalkboard, chewing tin foil, papercuts in your finger webbing feels. 😬
The most “I want to eat that” component should absolutely be part of the BGG golden geek awards.
Hahaaa Yes Brian!
I don't know who else would appreciate this so I feel a need to tell you: Tricktakers is an anagram of Kickstarter
(love your channel!)
Thanks for the kind words, Corey! And woahh i never kmew that! How coool!

Of course, thanks so much for the awesome comment, Ryan!! I hope this helps get it to the table for people!! Cheers 😁🙌🙌
There is an English version coming this year. (2023, By Portland Game Collective.)
That's right!!
great meeting you tonight at CC! i was playing Inis in back room at the corner table. Hope to play with you soon :)

@@ClaudeAndTaylor Joseph is right! You've put Joraku and Shamans on my list so I look forward to playing those in the future.
Oh, I've been waiting for this video! Saved for me to watch later after work.
Cheers, thanks so awesome to hear Luis! Hope it helps!!

TRICKTAKERs will be avaliabre in Brazil by the end of the year(with other japanese trick taking like Shock!), I want to play it already!
Oh good to know!

Happy New Year Taylor, Trick, and Table🍓🍓
Awwww thanks a million and happy new year H!!

This looks like one I need to try but not sure it will work with my regular trick-taker table friends. Thanks!
Yeah that's the tough thing! It's a hard one to make hit the table!!
Hi! Do you plan on making a video on the expansion content at some point?
Oh yesssss great idea Hunter!!! Check now ;)!
Get those expansion / little videos flying
I'll try! Gotta get to expansion month fast!
I was looking at this being mildly impressed. But when you got to the Resistance character my ears perked up.
Oh totally! They add the best wrinkle yet!
Excellent explanation that make me want this game. This seems out of stock even in Japan. Anyone know if there will be a reprint or an English version (possibly with the expansions?)
Cheers, Peter! Sounds like PGC is off to reprint this
@@ClaudeAndTaylor ...and I just managed to get a Japanese copy 2 days before the announcement lol

Ahh the eternal struggle hahaa! It is a lot to learn for sure sadly 😔 But hopefully one day you'll get it played! 🤞🤞🤞

Do you think 3 players are okay to play this game? So curious about this game
I think so, but 4/5 are better for me
Oh no, I thought the winner was random, had no idea it was for the funniest joke!
Ahhh so sorry! There's still time!
I've been trying to find a copy of this but couldn't find it on a Japanese site :-( So I purchased Schadenfreude and Nana instead.
Sounds like some amazing picks still!!
How's the game with 2 players?
Hmm, I'm actually not sure as I've yet to play at that count! Sorry!

I thought that would sound like nails/foil too but it's actually a bit pleasant!
How do you recommend playing this with people who do not know Japanese?
I print out the english translation/rules for the characters and have them nearby for the characters. At least while it takes a bit to learn!
