Hi Sarah! Just wanted to say how much I appreciate your tastes and objective approach to books. As a mostly literary fiction person who has been trying to branch into fantasy/genre fiction, I can relate to the season you’re in. I think being quite open and yet having high standards is a challenging line to walk, but there should be no apology for it. Keep up the good work! 🙌
@Quiet-Ad thank you, that's very kind! Yes, it definitely been a very interesting experience expanding my reading but I'm enjoying the process. I'm hoping to find more fantasy books that I really love!
@Sarahsreadingjournal I did! I didn't really like the 2nd as much as the first. It's more about themes of family & friendship, if I remember correctly.
I quite like Becky Chambers. You’ve gotten me very curious about Olga who I haven’t read from yet. Everyone has been encouraging me to read Bardugo. I’m still unsure.
@Shellyish ooh yes, you should definitely check Olga out. I think you'll really like her writing. Leigh Bardugo maybe not so much if you usually read more literary stuff. Her books are definitely a bit more fast paced and action packed!
I love your book chat! I have been thinking of re-reading two books by Susanne Jansson, Winter Water and The Forbidden Place. I would love to buddy read these with you if you are interested!
@MyBookHauledLife-Essie thanks! Ooh, interesting. I've never heard of either of these but I'll check them out. Trying not to buy any more hooks this year 😅

The filming in winter struggle is real!
& I felt a similar way about a Psalm for the Wild-Built
@JennyFernBooks ha ha, yes it's so dark all the time!! Have you read the second book in the series? 😊

I love Becky Chambers!! I’m excited to add The Empusium to my future reading!
@Maeve_Ever_Books The Empusium was great. Excited to check out some more Becky Chambers soon hopefully!
