We’ve had a terrible summer here in N.Ireland. Rained constantly. 11-16 degrees. Humidity +++. I love Autumn but it’s not much of a change weather wise.
oh no!!! the dnf for Winterson! she's definitely acquired taste, and definitely meant to be read for the music of the prose and the whimsical ideas. plot-wise, they go all over the place, but this is the norm for her. if you end up giving her a second chance, Written on the Body is wonderful! i've seen this Yoshimoto float around in bookstores and i've been curious about it! interesting to see that it's just being published just recently with its content! 👀👀👀
@nathansnook I know 😢 I think Winterson is a writer you really need to be in the mood for to enjoy! I read Oranges are not the only Fruit years ago and enjoyed it. Have heard really good things about Written on the Body, so may try it next 😁
Some recommendations of the best books I read in August The Coast Road by Alan Murrin The Alternatives by Caoilinn Hughes Wild Houses byColin Barrett My Friends by Hisham Matar Amy & Isabelle by Elizabeth Strout
@jacquelinemcmenamin8204 Yes, same here with the weather. It's been terrible! It's the dark nights I'm not looking forward to it winter! Thanks for the recommendations- been hearing great things about My Friends so may need to check it out soon 😁
Reading October, October by Katya Balen. Have only read Crime and Punishment from your list! Do you have any tips on how I can read more/faster like you, haha. I've currently to work through a 90+ reading list for a course :)
@@eriksoltvedt7552 I hope you're enjoying October, October. I've heard really good things! Ha ha, not really. I would recommend taking a book with you everywhere cause you never know when you might have a spare five minutes to read. I also read e-books on my phone. I find the small screen makes me read faster 😅
