I installed this on my 98' Wrangler Sahara. This is a good kit but the paper instructions are better than this video. Here are my tips and things not noted in this video: 1. Passenger side strut bracket mounts at 6 3/4 in. from firewall to center of u-bolt. The Drivers side ONLY is 5 1/2 2. THERE IS NO UPPER HOLE IN HOOD for hood bracket until you drill one 3. Add thread locker to hood bracket bolts SIDE NOTE: If you've added anything to your hood that is heavy like a large light bar or bumper jack, THIS WON'T HOLD YOUR HOOD UP!
Actually I tried following the written directions. They are NOT better than the video. The video does state to use the top hole in the bracket as a template to drill out the upper hole once you have the bottom part of the bracket attached. But the video Does not mention about 6 3/4 in from firewall on the passenger side. The written instructions do not say the strut mounts need to be rotated in and not perpendicular but the video does show you this and can save you some time in trial and error. You kind of need both unfortunately but the video covers some of the steps that are easily overlooked in the written instructions. Plus 2 different size drill bits are mentioned in the written instructions. The written instructions also do not state nor can you imply from the picture which part of the strut attaches at the top.
Yep I have have my hi-lift jack on there and it doesn’t even try to hold it up. I couldn’t find any documentation besides some vague review saying they might 67lbs struts. ALSO the part number doesn’t show up anywhere so imma just get 80lbs struts and see how that goes
As noted I'd use this in addition to the written instructions which include details not mentioned here. The u-bolt nuts need to be TIGHT to not spin on the grille support rods. One of our flag nuts was assembled with the nut off from the hole in the flag. Really set us back in my parents' garage with minimal tools. Make sure everything threads together easily by hand before beginning -- you may need a 5/16-18 tap.

Will it hold an aluminum hood louver? I will be cutting out some sections so maybe that will make up for weight? Thanks.

Why did he put one cylinder bolt in the first hole and the other in the second hole?
I have a high lift jack mounted on my hood on front side of the hinge,will your hydrolic's be weak for me?
