- The iconic N&W 611 J Class steam locomotive has arrived at the Strasburg Rail Road! It's interesting to see the much bigger, younger 4-8-4 streamlined locomotive making runs with the older 4-8-0 N&W 475 M Class who has returned to steam in a new historical appearance for this special reunion in the heart of the scenic farmlands of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

I can't get enough of 611 being in Strasburg
I know, I am really looking forward to the videos and photos from all the charter events.

The steamboat whistle in the "J" and in the sassy ten-wheeler were great. South central Pennsylvania hasn't rocked like this since the last time the Rebs came to town. Great stuff. Thanks.
The 475 is a 4-8-0, most commonly called a Mastadon type or rarely a twelve wheeler.

Amazing video! It's a shame 611 derailed a bit on the switch in Strasburg. No damage if I'm not mistaken, and it's back on the rails already.

They're usually through in the middle of the day but I haven't paid attention to which days they are running right now.

Yes, 611 will be at Strasburg through the end of October, then head to Spencer for the winter.

@@CentralPennRailProductions I used to work with my local scenic railway here in Ohio. It's not always the best track around. I was just poking some fun. I might have been a little harsh... I know Strasburg is an excellent group!

REALLY a ultra lite in a a video that is supposed to be about a steam engine. That sucks!
Some people I talked to were upset about it drowning out their audio, myself included at first, but sometimes things turn out way better than you expect! The people on the train were really excited to see him circling around and I think it adds another interesting dimension, planes and trains, now it just needs some classic automobiles!
