Solution for Kernel Panic Error in Metasploitable2

Kernel panic not syncing IO-APIC + timer doesn't work in Metasploitable2.

NB: This is not a permanent solution. Every time you boot the VM, you will need to follow the process. :(

I found (hopefully) a more permanent solution
on windows (sorry mac/others)
search and open: windows powershell
cd to C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox
run command:
.\vboxmanage modifyvm --acpi off
and
.\vboxmanage modifyvm --ioapic off
where is the name of the vm, mine was Metasploitable2 and it was case sensitive
so the full command was
.\vboxmanage modifyvm Metasploitable2 --acpi off
hopefully that helps.
