- Using a New Dollar Tree Organizer, I started the process of cleaning the craft room! My goal was to make it so I could walk in the room and I achieved that goal!!! The craft room looks great! I can't wait to start crafting in this space again!

I could so totally relate! My mother passed away unexpectedly and my sisters were in a rush to deal with her belongings. I also ended up dealing with my grief by thrifting. My house looked like an episode of hoarders lol. It took me about 2 years to start releasing. Now my home is starting to look more normal. I haven’t obsessively thrifted in months. And my studio is finally taking shape again. It was an odd expression of grief. I’m almost relieved to find someone that can relate

My condolences on your mothers passing. You did a great job cleaning up. I actually found those last week and use them to store my portable water bottles and when two didn't fit in the cabinet I took them to my craft room for my markers. Keep up the great work Thanks for the share.

You could use the stackable clear containers to hold spools of ribbons one spool in front of the other to make a row of ribbons in each container as well as organizing by shapes of colors and patterns

I tend to tie emotions to objects. So I have several things of my mom’s things that are just there. No purpose really. It feeds into my hoarding tendencies and I have to keep a strong leash on that. It can get out of hand fast. But emotions sure do make it difficult to get rid of things. My craft room gets so messy so easily because I have a ton of stuff that I don’t want to part with. I have been into Junk Journals for the past four years and that helps getting to use those crafty bits that you aren’t sure what to do with. I don’t always comment, but I love your videos and enjoy that you are working on a consistent schedule of videos. Just don’t let it control/consume you where you aren’t enjoying it any more. ❤ and 🙏🏻

Ah yes, seeing value in everything….the possibilities…. I have had to catch myself when I think the word “could”. It is now my trigger word NOT to buy anything new. I have such a stash already and I am enjoying putting the saved funds to other things like travel to see family. My heart goes out to you as you grieve for your Mom. It is a long and windy road.

Love all of this.. crafting is healing. I love organizing I had to stop buying crafting items due to lack of space. If you turn the yarn holders upside down so you can put three more on top. It takes much time to grieve the loss of a oved one. God Bless you.

If I find those wine bottle organizers I think I’ll store some of my vinyl in them. That is if they are long enough. I haven’t seen them in any of the Dollar Trees I’ve been in yet.

I know what you mean about being overwhelmed and wanting to do projects. What I did to declutter was set up plastic crates and boxes and just started sorting 'like' things just to get them in a workable/manageable piles. From there, if I already had a storage container with the items I had just sorted I would pull it out and put away. I found if I picked up 1 item at a time and put it away in the storage container I already had, I was wasting my time because I may need to put multiple like items in that storage container. Also, if I had items out that I got for a project, I allowed myself to take 4 storage containers and put all the items in it that were for said project and leave them out where I can see them. That way the next time I had free time or wanted a change of pace I just pulled out one of my project containers. That being said, I need to do some spring decluttering of my own.

I am so sorry to hear the loss of your mom. I still miss my mom so so much. I did a collage board with my dad and hung it in my office. There is not a day she is not with me. I wish I can help you get organized. We share our stories. You are doing awesome. And amazing teacher Yep I still have the colander reflecting the day my world was changing for good. It will get better.

my dog is very vocal too! I always have lick mats prepped in the freezer for her to keep her busy:-)! It’s good mental stimulation for them! I usually use yogurts, mushed fruits, & pumpkin puree! Just a recommendation to keep your little guy occupied while you try to do tasks! Love your content ❤

The curse of the crafter- we see possibilities in everything and the problem is we are right! I’m still using dollar tree stickers from like early 2000’s! Trick is to just accept that we have to get rid of things - we ALL have too much! Lol! And we have to prioritize the items. Also the hobbies- no matter how much I want to I’m never going to be making jewelry again and should get rid of all my stuff but throwing away most beads to me is torture. When I fully accept letting go of that hobby I’m going to bring the whole collection to someplace that could use it all. I’ve been told there are places that would love that! It’s so easy to say I’ll sell it but we all know that never happens! lol! Good luck!!😁

You sound so much better. There are 5 stages of grief, and progress is not linear, so you’ll float between the stages. I grew to know your Mom virtually through your videos, and I miss seeing her. I’m praying for peace and acceptance to come to you soon.

I am trying to set up a craft room. What you could try is organize a section at a time. For example, just do one organizer, one drawer or one shelf. I used this process and I have been working for months. I am nearing the end.
