Hi Sarah...when we moved to this house my kids saved everything from their childhood toys and we stored them in a clean storage room above the garage. They were 9 and 12 then...now my daughter is 32 with a 2 yr old daughter and another on the way in April....my son now 35 with a 7 and 5 yr old sons and a 1 year old daughter....they are constantly here picking up race tracks, marble games, baby doll stuff, table and chairs, etc They love sharing their favorite stuff with their kids! I have my own stash here in the house including all their book sets, games and much more that the kids play with here...so fun! You have a lot of good times to look forward to❣️ Grandchildren are such a blessing...I love to play with and watch them...and just as much I love watching my kids with their kids...brings as much JOY to my heart❤️ thank you for sharing 😊kim
Love that, Kim! I'll certainly enjoy it when the time comes!
I never even thought of a grandma playroom, great idea. I have saved many things, but for my son's future children. I'll have to steal back some for nana's playroom. I've saved, clothes, toys, books that he basically loved. I also have made a couple pillows from clothes that he loved and wanted to save. This last year I have been buying items he needs for his future home so he doesn't have the expense. Most of the items are pots and pans, a whole set of vintage pfaltzgraff dishes, nice nesting iron stone bowls. He is 14 now and helps me choose things. I think it's important for him to learn about thrifting, why we thrift and see how much we save. He now loves the idea of giving pre-loved items a new life and saving money. I started thrifting 30 years ago and love remembering finding specials treasure. Almost everything he had as a baby was thrifted or gifted. As time has gone on we have gifted them to others if we didn't save them for the future.
I love your idea of a ‘Grandmother Playroom’. I did the same thing ... I now have a couple of grand babies who are just learning to talk. The first thing they say when they come in the door is “play toys with Nana”. I treasure every moment with them.
So sweet!
I was surprised how quickly the 10 to 15 yrs passed between having teenagers ( so I donated a lot of toys) to having grandchildren! So. If you have the room to comfortably store them, good idea. :)
I also love the idea of a Grandmother Playroom! You won't regret it. My boys are 30 and 32. I am so glad I saved their Batman figures along with the Bat Cave, Star Wars toys, Legos, Playmobiles ect... My 7 year old grandson just loves coming to Nana's house! Had to purchase toys for my granddaughters though. Enjoy!!
Love it!!
Binging all ur videos again. Was inspired to paint my pallet wall white yesterday and now i want everything white lol love all u do!
So fun! I hope your projects go well!
I want to go thrifting with you! Since I am 67, a lot of what you thrift brings back memories. 🥰
My grandmother left me a nice stack of vintage books. I love them. When I lives up North in Ohio, my house was built in 1904. It is very solid and beautiful! Loved the books spread out around the house. Then I moved to Florida. Went a little crazy with beach theme for a few years...but now that I am purchasing a new house, I am looking forward to getting all my books out of the trunk.
Hey there lovely,
Watching your video has been the highlight of the year!!!
🙂🙂🙂
Wow, you were blessed with sooo many goodies, this time around huh!!!
😉😉😉
I’ve never seen a mug with a strainer and lid before, it was wonderful. No doubt they are everywhere in the UK, and Ireland, as they are the True tea connoisseurs.
🤔🤔🤔
My favorite find of yours is the phone. I’m VERY partial to telephones.
💟📞💟
My mother worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Texas (pre AT&T) for 29.5yrs. She would’ve made it to 30, but they were closing her unit, and she would’ve had to relocate, so she retired instead.
When momma started out, she was a switchboard operator (just like in the Doris Day movies, plugging the cords into the board, transferring calls to and fro, dealing with party lines, etc.)
It’s kinda funny, cause everybody uses them nowadays, but the one thing she didn’t like about her job, was wearing the headset. It’s sorta like what video gamers use with less padding~ she HATED wearing the headset, she said it messed up her hair.
💟💟💟
After she became a Unit manager, she was required to have her hair styled weekly, as to have a professional appearance at work.
It was the 60’s and 70’s after all, and she had long hair, requiring a lot of ratting, back combing and Hairspray.
😃😃😃
I can remember using rotary phones, boy were they a pain if you were in a hurry and messed up!!!
Push button phones were a God send, and then cordless phones (with the long metal antennas) were the best invention next to sliced bread.
😁😁😁
Momma used to say, we kids never fought with each other, until she got on the phone. Didn’t All moms say that???
Though that was true of us, we were little stinkers.
Then *just* out of her reach, we’d start something, rarely did she put the phone down, to get us.
😉😉😉
Let me tell you, when the cordless phone came out, we only fought in front of her once, cause after that, we knew she could chase us down, and whip our tails if need be.
The good ol days, I mean that sincerely!!!
Momma passed away (non virus related) April 1, 2020, so writing this reply is bittersweet. She was my best friend.
😢😢😢
One of my favorite memories of her (there are sooo many to choose from) is of her outside with the waterhose in one hand, cordless phone in the other, talking away to her friends.
Being in the yard was this side of heaven for her, it was her time to herself, as she raised four kids alone (I’m the baby) with no outside help, she worked her tail off my entire life, just to put food on the table.
We were sooo blessed to have her!!!
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Blessedly, and joyfully she’s now physically able walk and bend down to tend to The most beautiful garden ever, with our Savior.
What a beautiful sight that must be...
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Please forgive me for rambling on again (like I did over your grandfather’s photo) you’ve just showcased two special items recently, and I couldn’t help but share. I’ll try to limit my future replies.
😉😉😉
Take care, and God bless you in 2021
💟🙏🏻💟

Thank you for sharing, Rena! I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mom, but I'm so glad you have lots of beautiful memories, AND the hope of heaven!
@@SheHoldsDearly
Sarah, thank you sooo much for replying, and for being patient with me when I ramble on. It’s been a Hard year...
I’ve had a lot of time to study the Bible the past 8 months. Psalm 46:10 Philippians 3:20 and Titus 2:13 are just a few of my favorite verses.
Take care, God bless

You're so inspiring! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and decoration ideas. And gotta love your humbleness and humor😊
Thank you so much!
Your thrift finds were lovely, and so in keeping with your home! You definitely are not impulsive, but buy intentionally.
I certainly try to! Thank you for noticing and mentioning it!
I love the use of the napkins as half towels in your bath. The hair salon I use to go to used all colors of bandanas in the same way and I always love it. I thrifted some once and dropped them off to them. The brunch bar and food looks yummy, great idea for family together time. ❤️
I love this series so much. I hope you’ll do it forever! You have a very lovable personality and the heart of a teacher.
Thank you so much!
dunno if anyone cares but if you are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch all the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Been watching with my girlfriend for the last couple of weeks :)
@Grant Sage Definitely, I have been using InstaFlixxer for since december myself =)
@Grant Sage definitely, been watching on InstaFlixxer for since november myself :D
I think I watched everything you’ve done so far! Dearly love ironstone and white dishes! Love your channel! Blessings!💛
Just want you to know how much I’ve enjoyed watching your videos this year. You gave me so many ideas over the holidays.Have made many donations to the local thrift store and always think of you when I’m poking through there.Happy new year to you and your family may God bless.
I'm so glad!
Love the 3-tiered stand for the bathroom. What a great idea!
Thanks for the video - I love how you show what you do with these items in your home.
Glad you like them!
Oh I love the world's best playroom for a grandma!
It'll be fun when the day arrives!
Loved all that you did with your thrift store treasures!
Thank you! 😊
Love your new finds, Sarah! I started keeping a number of my kids' old toys over the years and now my three grandkids enjoy playing with them.
Love it!!
Love your thrift haul.I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one that likes to thrift weekly. A lady after my own heart. My favorite the cat tea cup. Love it. My cats would want to drink from our cups. What a wonderful idea for napkins as hand towels. Happy new year and be blessed.
You too, Anita!
Great finds as always!
Glad I'm not the only one, my kids are only 11, 7, and 2 and I think like that!
OMG me too!! I have a whole Pinterest board with all my grandma ideas ready to go!!!
Love it!!
Love the vintage napkins used as hand towels💜 You are so wonderfully creative💜
Thank you so much!
Thanks for another great video with thrifted finds. Everything looks beautiful and classic. Keep these videos coming!
Thank you! Will do!
Great ideas! thanks for sharing
Both my daughters told me that I had to wait until they had their ten year highschool reunion, before I'd get any grandchildren from them. (Of course school, marriage and owning a home was on their to do list too), but guilt trips do work. I now have three little grandchildren, with more to come in the future. Now all the toys and baby things are back in my house again. I love it.
@@dannagordon9618 I do have two sons as well. They are younger then their sisters and are only dating. So far so good, they still come home. Although I have warned them both to avoid feminists at all costs. Not in their best interest. I do believe it's the culture these kids are living in. This bubble wrapped millennial "me me" culture. So sorry to hear you story. You sound like a lovely grandmother.
@@canadiangirl5159 Thank you!
Hi, loving the phone, plates, cups, material🤭🤭🤭. I just love everything you "thrift" . Thankyou for the videos. 👍👍 X
Sarah, love your style AND guidance. I wish you would give us the prices of the treasures you buy... I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s curious. Thanks for the most beautiful videos and the most relaxing part of my day. Your student, Joanna
I've had some others mention that as well! I'll try to include that going forward!
I love your style and thanks for the advice! Decorating with thrifted items is so fun!
thank you for sharing and giving inspiration
You are so welcome!
I love all your finds and how you styled them! It makes me want to do a brunch with my family!
It was a lot of fun! :)
I have an old phone for my grandchildren and they love it! Lots of pretend calls to the Dr. I also have a vintage cradle and old check punching machine with push down buttons and a handle to pull. More than anything they love to play with you, regardless the toy.
Wonderful video, your fun to listen to. Plus I always learn something new. Thanks and happy new year. 💖
Thank you! You too!
Your thrift stores must be amazing! You have fantastic finds 😊
❤❤❤❤ i love everything you picked. These are my favorite videos 🥰 the dishes are perfect.
Glad you like them!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Great finds and thank you for sharing your design knowledge. I think picking those vintage toys are so smart and thinking of those grand babies. 💕😊
Happy New Year Lovely ... I'm heading over to join you on Pinterest... xxoo
Yay! Thank you!
Pier 1 closed all their stores and did go out of business but then they decided to leave their website up. So business as usual on Pier1.com.
I really enjoy your content!
Glad to hear it!
This was so good. These are my. Favorite videos.
So glad!
You always come up with great thrift finds 👏👏👏
Thank you! 🤗
I love that you are thinking of grandbabies! You and I are probably around the same age ... I'm 43 and my oldest is 17 in March --- but I'm not thinking of being a grandmother! Ha ha! --- Back in the "days" in between my public school teaching career (when I was home with the kids - when they were little) I used to collect vintage handkerchiefs and fashion them into baby/doll bonnets with beautiful antique ribbons, etc. Whenever a church baby was dedicated, I would give the mother a hankie bonnet. What a wonderful idea that would be for your Grandma Nursery --- I could see you hanging them on the wall - =)
What a sweet idea!
I love your channel. I especially love these thrift store styling videos. But ... where in heaven do you store all of these things, especially your seasonal materials? ‘Splain, please!
I love your toy collection. Everything I used to play with when I was little! Even the hibiscus and phone. Such Nostalgic pieces and a great idea.
Great ideas!Happy New Year!
Cutr finds today. Love the adorable cat mug!!! So sweet.
Thank you! I found another one on Ebay rstyle.me/+4zj0sJHiWMcYxUizdgIRIQ
Love the black and white floral teacup and the Kitty mug with lid !! I think they are such statement pieces that would look lovely in any cottage style home. Loved the old phone too....you always find such nice pieces when you thrift. Sadly the shops in my area are a bit lacking in really good things that I would want to take home. Happy New Year to ALL !!
What thrift stores do you go to that are so good? I'm from Western Washington and my mom and I have been avid thrifters for years and it seems that you have found the best stores, better than we find.
I have 2 of those large white mixing bowls from Home Goods. I use them for cat water bowls on different levels of the house.
Beautiful styling of beautiful finds, love the brunch setup.
Thanks so much!
That's hilarious. We have a married son and our youngest is just 5. We're currently in the works for a playroom and I started saving toys and clothes for grandchildren while our youngest was a baby.
Love, love the future grandchild ideas. Thanks!
You are so welcome!
I am envious of your thrift store! I have a plant that would look nice in that brass "pot" like object,
New subscriber here. Just stumbled upon your channel. Your style and demeanor is very warm and inviting. I have a black rotary phone from the 1950s that belonged to my MIL. I styled it on a console table with some silver pieces. It fascinates my granddaughters and they LOVE to play with. ☺️
Love that!
I am just finding you. I enjoy that you are in my area. I get frustrated with people from other parts of the country sharing what they paid. I either think it should be cheaper or wish I was there to buy that item. I especially was looking forward to your plan for napkins because I probably have a hundred of them. The vintage phone was sweet. I have two antique wood phones that I have hanging in prominent areas. They are family pieces so sentimental too. BTW: Adults love playing with them too. Thanks for your ideas. I am adusting my plans for finds now. Always great finding new uses for old treasures!
Thanks for the tips. Your home is lovely.
Thanks so much! 😊
These are beautiful finds! How sweet that you are saving treasures for your future grandchildren!🥰
Thank you so much!
Great finds Sarah, but sorry to disappoint. That is not a rotary phone, but rather a pushbutton phone in the style of an older rotary wall phone.
But for Sarah's grandchildren, it will be vintage even as a push button style....
Haha, I wonder about that as I said that. I was thinking if it is a land line it was considered a rotary.
I believe this was from Pottery barn from the 2000’s
@@susan-thegracefullilymarke622 That is correct! It is from Pottery Barn and I purchased mine about 20 years ago and it works great as a land line with a vintage vibe
I am loving this series! Thank you! Blessings to you and yours!💕
So glad!
Love your style sarah..great finds❤
Thanks so much!!
Pier 1 is all online. They have closed all of their stores but they are still going. I have a friend that works for corporate. At the beginning of lockdown she thought they were going out of business but they somehow managed to keep online going. I love the vintage books and that fabric is amazing.
Good to know, thank you!
Thanks for reminding us to look for you on Pinterest. Now following!
I saved almost all of my children's toys, books, blankets. Lugged it from house to house. My grandchildren absolutely love it. Matchbox cars, Barbie, books, rocking horse. My heart spills over seeing them enjoy everything.
How fun to see a new generation playing with the same toys your children enjoyed!
Beautiful! And the back ground looks good too. Happy Blessed New Year!
Thank you! You too!
So many cute finds!! I’m so jealous. My area is not the best 😩
Sorry to hear that! I think sometimes that going often is the best way to snag great stuff!
Sarah! You forgot to mention another purpose for those gorgeous vintage books: To Read Them! Function Not over style!! I love your vlog, thank you, Susan From Tasmania.
That is planning ahead for your future grandchildren--too sweet!!! 😊😍 Great picks, you have a good eye.
Oh thank you!
I have more of those tan and red classic collection books...I was just going to take them to Tacoma Half Price Books, later this month. So funny!
Noooo!! Keep them! Haha
@@SheHoldsDearly Can't-- I have about 20 boxes of books of my dad's. No room!
What I really want to know is where you got your sweater 😁
Great finds. I look for dishes at thrift stores, too, and fabrics, and furniture..... I found a step stool, I believe it was like for a tall bed, I’m sure you have seen them. I am going to fix up for my first granddaughter so she can help in the kitchen when granny is cooking and so she can reach the bathroom sink to brush her teeth. She’s almost walking!
Wonderful video, I DO have a grandchild play - hang out room 🤗💕. Thank you and Happy New Year ... the phone is DARLING 🤗
Happy new year!!
What brand is the cat/ tea strainer mug? I love the “grandkids” phone.
Its by Creative Co-op. I found one on Ebay rstyle.me/+4zj0sJHiWMcYxUizdgIRIQ
While cleaning up the blackberry bushes on my property, we unearthed an all White Starbucks Mug, not ours,..and no idea how it came to be in there! Now used to hold my dish scrubbers at the sink! Also, I had been following a youtube channel... a mom who is Minimal... and wondered why I was so depressed after watching it... then for some reason, your channel came on my Feed; and I feel so HAPPY after watching your videos... just realized, I am not a minimalist! Watching you treasure hunt your finds, gives me such great joy! and inspiration!
Unsubscribe from mininal - check! Sub to your channel - check check!
I love those stories, and welcome! :)
Noticed the arm chair with British flag pillow. I got 2 matching chairs that are like yours. Like the linen on yours. Did you cover yourself? Mine have a soft peach with a small cream pattern and nail heads. Seat cushions have feathers in them. On the fence as to update like yours or leave as is.
Yes, I did that one myself! sheholdsdearly.com/french-chair-makeover-2/
It's all so beautiful! My question is what/where do you store all your vintage finds each week or do you use them everyday 🤔
Hi Tammy! I'm planning to share a video on how I store my extra decor soon! I have a system to put seasonal decor and extra pieces away until I need them!
Very lovely! Have you seen Netflix’s Bridgerton? The nursery is spectacular.
Beautiful finds. I saved our wood puzzles ( they’re over 40 years old ) for my grandchildren, they really enjoyed them. And your future grandkids will LOVE the phone, especially if you mount it on the wall. Happy New Year.
P.S. Something to add to your thrift list for your future playroom - old wooden game boards for the walls!
Just started watching all your videos. I think I am all caught up! Is the cat mug to strain tuna or canned cay food and not tea?
Lovely presentation! I would collect items for each season like you, but after over forty years of homemaking, I find I have too many things. I still like freshening up the look each season and have a hard time letting go of some of the things I still have. What do you do with all the items you collect once you are done using them? I did the same for my grandchildren as you. They are 6yr old now and don't want me to thin their things out which I also have to do. I try bartering with them saying one new thing and out with one old. It doesn't always work!
I rotate through my decor and use lots of things for multiple seasons when I can, but I do have a pretty in-depth storage system where I keep things I'm not currently using. (Hoping to share a post all about that soon!) Also, I de-clutter routinely (through the class I lead we work on one area in our homes each month to declutter), so when something stops bringing me joy, I sell, gift or donate it so that I'm not overwhelmed.
❤️
In the last few months, we've been going to the thrift store and taking a bag of stuff that I'm slowly decluttering to donate. Most of my stuff probably came from a thrift store originally, but over 30 some years of our marriage, I have found that I've grown tired of looking at it or our tastes have changed. Do you donate anything when you go?
I love these videos and series. I do have a question . . . . how do I store everything that's not out at a particular time. Do you have any ideas? I would love to know. I love your finds.

I did a little video sharing all about how I organize my decorations! :) I hope this helps!
People correcting someone else's pronunciation is so mean. Come as you are, I say. My son has autism so he can pronounce a word any way he wants. Thanks for sharing your great tips! Have a good week.
Thank you, Lisa!
Great video as always. I’m sure you know by now Pier 1 is online and huge!!! I love their new products as always
Just wondering what provision you make for guests to put the "guest towels" when they have used them. Love idea but would want a place to put used/dirty towels instead of just laying them on the vanity.
There is a vintage hamper in one of my bathrooms, otherwise they just hang them up and I change them out when I can.
♥️♥️♥️
I'm not sure how old your kids are . My youngest is 16 and oldest is 26 and ive bedn planning a nursery for my first grandchild for about 15 years ! I have nursery art by Betsie Pease Gutman and a few old toys , vintage books etc
Haha, I love it🥰🥰🥰. And Betsie Pease Gutman is favorite of mine, too!!
I believe pier 1 is online only now.
OH! Good to know, thank you!
WHERE did you find the Union Jack Pillow???
Pier 1 is still an online shop. So might find them there. Love the white mixing bowl!
Good to know!
Good video. Next time can you please give us the price you paid for each item. Cheers.
Thank you for letting me know that's helpful!
Some of the prices were visible in the opening sequence, but I'll make a note for next time!
@@SheHoldsDearly Thank you - it lets me know what I should pay,
Thanks!
No problem!
The phone is from Pottery Barn. 😃 We have crappy thrift stores here, I don’t find much or I need to go more often. 🤣
Oh awesome!! Thanks for letting me know!
@@SheHoldsDearly Yes - we have the same on in my hubby's office which is where 16 of our 23 bookcases are located ... it fits!
The phone is not rotary, rotary has the dial that goes around. That phone was made to look old, but not very old with buttons.
You're correct! I appreciate the vintage look none-the-less.
Am I the only one that thinks the spout is upside down on the orange juice?
No, I think so, too. S
They usually leak so that’s probably why
I thought it was, too! But, this is the only way to get the juice out, so I guess it’s right! LOL
I love old books but so many of them have a musty odor....
Sorry but that phone doesn’t look like a rotary phone. It looks like one that is in that style but is push button.
You're right, a push button but in a vintage rotary style look, which I can appreciate! :)
Pier 1 is still in business but online only.
