I’m a Christian and I love Nicholas ❤. My brother who passed away was gay as well as being my best friend. Why do people say nasty thing’s? Cozy video Nicholas and thank you for the chat. I adore Paris, it’s magical 🎉
Genuine question: why do Christians feel the need to alert everyone to the fact they’re Christian before they say something nice? Was that modifier really necessary? It’s kind of like saying “in spite of the way you are I still deign to like you”. I promise you it never comes across as generous but patronizing.
When you spoke about not talking about the horrible things going on in the world and letting people take a break and come to your channel…..let me tell you.. that’s what brought me here!!! You are a light in dark times and your channel is inspirational and we need it. So thank you for that wonderful thoughtful response to that Q❤
I so appreciate the fact that you don't talk about all the craziness. Your channel is a place of refuge for me. A place to be happy and think of all the beautiful things in life. I can watch the news if I want the craziness 😂
I appreciate that you don’t address the terrible things going on in the world. I can watch the news for that. I do enjoy the calm, beautiful subjects you cover whether it’s home decor, a recipe, or an historic building. I usually listen to each installment more than once!
I love this channel for an escape from the problems of today. Please never change anything Nicholas about your Beautiful Channel. Love and Respect from the United States ❤
Dear Nicolas you bring me peace and calm every time I feel the need to be tranquil. I could listen to you for hours and you take all my stresses away. You are a charming young man with a beautiful soul. Really looking forward to the podcast ❤ thank you for another beautiful video xx❤
I am so excited to see your upcoming podcast! And thanks for clearing the air about Nathan. He seems delightful, but I agree that one can be friends without being sexual. All my life I have enjoyed friendships with men, although I am a straight woman. Friends are friends, regardless of gender, orientation, etc. But it is helpful to have a partner who is secure in the relationship, and not prone to jealousy. I love your channel!
Aah, Nicolas, Grand Duchess of Edinburgh, luxuriating in a glamorous bed somewhere in Scotlandia, sipping tea, and answering tantalizing questions about living the eleganza life. I did enjoy your perspective on living in a world full of problems and strife. It was very wise. Beauty AND Brains.😉
Very funny. He is a boy. He might be in touch with the feminine, however, if he hasn't referred to his title who are we to act like bullies and attach a nickname to Nickolas? Who are we? I thought at first you had redecorated your bedroom, I love it when you take us to different places. Wise man that you are, there is no sense worrying about the future or what is going on in the world now. It about the people we have in our lives, the beauty of things and what we make of it. I'll be looking foward to your guest bedroom makeover. Stay well and thank you to Nathan for taking along when he works.
Ahhh, Chatsworth House. I spent many weekends there in my youth. My boyfriend had an MG Midget convertible, and we would drive over on nice days and wander around the beautiful grounds. In the week, I went back to my real life, working for Midland Bank. Such fond memories.
Thoroughly loved this video. I am so grateful that you get invited by Nathan on his photoshoots and we get the privilege of seeing some beautiful Hotels. It must be a win win for these places to have them shown not only by Nathan but on your channel also ❤
Dear Young Friend ! I am so pleased to see You make the Beautiful Life that You so Graciously share with all of us. Im forever thankful to in my old age be blessed to see You truly appreciate life Now as You do !😊
Nicolas, lovely Q and A, lovely video as always! I just want to say that your videos have been my oasis in the life thats filled with stresses and all the troubles that go with our lives. some of the things in life are out of our control and all we can do is sit back let it correct itself... but it does leave a trail of sadness and anxiety. your videos are the only videos that bring a sense of calm and peace to my heart, and also inspire me with many ideas to enhance my life even in the smallest of ways. thank you so much for creating this channel, and kudos for keeping all the politics out of this channel so some of us can come on this and enjoy the peace! I love your life, how you live each day with so much love and peace, and I wish you all the best for the future!! :)
Well said, we ALL need respite from terrible times we live in. This is why I no longer watch mainstream media. UA-cam I choose my content which is about nature, beautiful, inspiring & fun. Thankyou for a lovely chat. Enjoy you stay, the girls look so cute! Would love to see the spare room renovated
Yes, I come to your channel to escape the insanity of the world at this time. Your calmness, your love of nature, and gorgeous homes and their interiors, makes your channel so refreshing. Also, your philosophy regarding life in general is perfect.
Hi Nicholas. It was adorable how the babies were all snuggled sleeping. Sophie made sure she was closest to you. Lol. It's just crazy the sizes of the homes people have lived in. I think the most majestic estate here in the US is the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina. I've been there many times. Wonderful video, and thanks for sharing.
Remember when you said, young people put pressure on themselves and should not do this. We all have many purposes in life and your life is now not out there somewhere. Each one of us are special and already amazing we are unique like snow flakes...Sending you love, peace, sunshine, prayers always.
You are a very distinctive man of our times Nicolas - everything about you to love & nothing to dislike - what a soul you are - question!! - would we receive your Podcasts here in Queensland?? - so enjoy the moments you share with us all - you always & I mean always lift our spirits - much love.
It's not strange at all, I'm 72, and back in the seventies, I quite often shared a bed with my best friend, both of us being female, I've also shared a bed with a close male friend in my younger day's, with no romance or sex, when out partying, and all crashing at someone's place, you don't think twice about it, it was quite normal 😀
I am female and travel with both male and female best friends, but we always get a room with. TWO double beds. I have never slept in the same bed with my best friends, perhaps that’s just me and my comfort level. And I do not have siblings, so never had the experience either with them. I sleep perfectly in my own bed.
I have always loved floor plans. As a kid I collected them and created my own. I remodeled my own home’s floor plans as an adult and helped my parents reconfigure their layout when they built their retirement house.
During World War II, the UK government authorised the manufacture of lipsticks. And classical music concerts. They were deemed to be essentials. Likewise, I like that there is no politic element on this channel. I like to escape from life’s realities in several places. One of them is here. Thank you for the video.
LOVED THIS VIDEO! The only thing missing is ME, MY DOG, and my ORANGE CLOVE TEA. Let's make this happen! It doesn't matter I'm a female - I can hang with you and Nathan easily!!! You guys are definitely 'my cup of tea'.......Cheers
Hello Nicolas! Way to go for a relaxing (luxury) atmosphere to do a Q&A!! Even Sophie and Peggy seem to say let's indulge in this elegance too!LoL! The tapestry over the bed definitely invited "nesting" and enjoying some tea! I know your collaboration with Nathan to launch a podcast will be a success! Enjoyed the Q&A and as always you gave some sound advice and great decorating tips. Hugs!
Also.. it's one of the reasons, your videos are so wonderful..We can take a break from what is going on in the world..Just sit back..and be inspired ❤ Thank you Nicholas ❤️
Nicolas, thank you for another enjoyable and calming video. I am always impressed with your openess and integrity in sharing your life and ideas with us. Your positive outook is inspirational. I always felt that you and Nathan are best friends and "kindred spirits" sharing so much in common. This is one of the great pleasures in life; to bond emotionally and spiritually with other people. Looking forward to your upcoming videos on redecorating your bedroom and guestroom. Stay true to yourself and your goals, Robert.
Nicolas, The reason i follow you, faithfully, is that I always feel good after each of your videos ! Your mentality, your tastes, your Education, suit me very well ❣️Thank you dear Nicolas ✨💞😘 🙏
Thank you, Nicholas, for giving us a safe place to unplug from every day life. Nicholas Day is a treasure and something I look forward to that leaves me feeling relaxed and calm and refreshed.
I have my cats all over my quilt right now the way you look interviewing I had to click on your video... you look like me right now only my cats are all around😊
Nicolas, you are so right about what you said about "two men sharing a bed and that if it were two women, no big deal"! Spot on with all that! Love your chats and your honesty....that is what is going to constantly grow this channel and any other platform you work on, etc. Thanks again for another great video!
Nicolas, I agree with you. It seems that you and I have lived similar lives. Even as an American, I visited Chatsworth (several times). I have friends who live in the Peak district. Pre-covid, I spent a month each yr in France, often Paris. I've been there 15+ times. Not a lot for someone in Europe. Love the comment about embracing a dark space. I live in 190 yr old house, the entrance hall is 4 x 15 meters, 3.6 meters high. Rooms open from it but there's only doors with sidelights at each end. It is painted dark forest green. All the woodwork is white. When built, the entrance wasn't intended to welcome; it was intended to impress (intimidate?). I decided not to brighten it up. I just accepted as is and live with it.
The house he said he'd like to live in, is that also the house that was used during an episode of Keeping Up Appearances. It looks so much like, and that was a great episode. Well, they were all great episodes. Haha
I first visited Chatsworth in 1970 and have returned many times. There was a boxwood garden at the front of the main block which when viewed from the upper floors the shape or pattern of the boxwood was clipped into the floor plan of Chiswick House (another family home).
So true Nicholas that is many of us, as you say, just do your best and you can't ask for no more but also trust what's meant for you will come to you, its not easy but it helps
I just watch a program on UA-cam on Chatsworth House and it is a stunning home. The most current resident spoke about his parents and past family, the privilege it is to have the public con in and share in views of this magnificent home. It is as beautiful outside as it is inside with gorgeous furnishings and artworks. I would love to see it in person but that will not be possible now . Enjoyable podcast Nicolas. Love the to doggies on the bed. God bless and thank you for sharing your beautiful life. ❤❤❤
À very lovely video Nicolas. And I was so envious to see you lounging in bed on such a « yucky » day. Good for you. I’m glad to hear about your upcoming podcast with Nathan. ❤
Really nice Q and A session from a beautiful bed. Will we ever get to see your boyfriend? I am fascinated by the fact you shared with us your new year's dreams a couple of years ago when you said you wanted to find a relationship that year and Boom, you did. I'm very happy for you.
Nicholas, I so enjoy listening to you talk and describe how to have a most luxurious life. My husband and I lived in London for eight years and living there instilled a bit of what you are talking about. Having tea at Brown’s Hotel, visiting some of the great English houses and National Trust gardens, shopping in London, staying in beautiful hotels and country houses, taking a black cab occasionally - I could go on and on. We miss London very much and hope to return one day. We occasionally have a tea party, just the two of us, and reminisce of the lovely times in England. Love the doggies! Congrats to Nathan! I have a Shih Tzu who sleeps on our bed. Can’t wait for your podcast! All the best, Mandy from Tucson, AZ🌵
Greetings Nicolas! Thank you for your optimism. I must agree that a safe space or sanctuary is so important in one's life. I was able to sneak off to the city to see friends on Friday. Lunch with an old friend that I hadn't reached out to since COVID; and a Boys Night Out/Meal with College Friends that was so restorative. Easter is next weekend and I'm hoping to share a meal with my Brother's Family; we haven't made time for a family meal for over two years, so it would be nice to rectify that. Making time for relationships is so important. Looking forward to your podcast! ❤F&A
Your thoughts are so wonderful. Just the simple things. Love it. But don't forget to take time out to thank the Lord. I sit with my coffee and have my devotional. Be Blessed.
Lovely relaxed video. Great to chat in bed with a cup of tea. Just got my spare room ready for a guest, hope l have thought of everything. Looking forward to seeing how you bring your guest room together. Thank you for being so open and keeping your channel a place of refuge for half an hour or so.
I’m a lesbian and I have lots of other lesbian and bisexual female friends who I spend a ton of very close time with, go on vacations, etc etc and we are not together. It’s normal but a lot of people give it the side eye haha. It’s chill.
I adored this video! It was full of excellent content, for example, I had been wondering about ceramic vs. silver teapots and thus was thrilled that a viewer posted the question regarding your preference. The Master Class regarding Chatsworth House was super. What I enjoyed the most was that it was all delivered from a cozy bed. It felt as though you had invited us all to the best slumber party ever.
I've traveled often with my best friend and we've shared a bed. We're both female, married with children and it is what it is - best friends who happen to be sharing a bed. She wasn't happy as she said I snored. FYI I don't snore!
Hi from Annie nice to hear you answering some questions, people can get rather nosely can't they at times. That four poster bed looks great and the two dogs have it made there they look so cute. Yes there is a fine line between comfort and style or fashion etc. I think comfort is the most important of all. I have learnt that over the years not that many victors come here These days but years ago they did and I used to think style first but now I thin comfort is first. With dar spaces I naturally want to brighten them up a bit florals and lights are easy to do floor and wall colors are also important. What you said is live each day for itself stay in the moment is best advice for us all.
Such a lovely friendship. Lucky you. My Dark hallway tips: paint it white or cream. If the walls are dark wood & can’t be painted, hang large pieces of light art work matted with white, lit with portrait lights. White baseboards & crown molding & white ceiling helps too. Candle scones work too. Your ideas work nicely. Question:1 what’s your favorite American city/town? Q2: Have you been to Blenheim Palace? (My favorite) Q3: why didn’t you show us your entire hotel suite & the hotel lobby, grounds, etc? Not clear where you are. Your deepest dream should never scare you, only your deepest fear. Ambition is inspiration to achieving your full potential. Good advice! I love teapots too. I’ve collected several more recently. Have you ever designed your own. I have, it’s a fantastic experience. Put it on your to do/bucket list. If it’s good, you can enter it into competition. Dandy dilemma should end with a positive 3rd word, like “dissolved” or “done”. Looking forward to it. You & Nathan should buy & sit in a pair of those armchairs (NF monogrammed) during your video podcast. Show, don’t tell. Never fear the future, avoid politics & current events. Why make a video had afternoon tea when they’re serious matters going on?? my answer: because you have the luxury of doing so. Design your life to include luxury whenever possible matter how small or frequent. Don’t wait for it to come to you, Create it for yourself. Tea time is designed to be a momentary respite from reality. Your comments on hope and simplicity are wonderful! Daffodils 🌼 to you. Cheers
It is just so good to hear you can travel with Nathan ( beautiful name btw, same as my son’s name😅) and share a bed and just be friends, and have both partners, and nobody is jealous. 😀 I love the stately homes, they are so beautiful! But you can’t manage it without staff. I live in a little medieval castle in the Netherlands and we only have one person who helps with the gardens and arange the marriages who take place in the gardens, and the rest we do ourselves, which is a lot of work, but of course it isn’t as big as the stately homes from the UK. Just enough for us, we love it here and we recently bought the little cottage back because our neighbors are going to move, and we are going to make a b&b of it. I love the Victorian age and decorations and furniture, so it will be in refurbished and decorated in that style. Like our castle, but of course with Dutch furniture from that era. I totally agree with you about your view on the world, and your videos are a beautiful escape for a short time, thank you for that ❤
Castle Howard would be my preference; probably because of Brideshead Revisited series which was produced when I was about your age, but also because it feels a bit more intimate than Chatsworth.
Question: I’ve been in love with the comfort you get in hotel bed, the sheets the comforter the way it’s made. I struggle to find good quality sheets, pillows etc. can you give tips on how to create a elegant hotel bed at home? I’ll be moving into a new home soon and would like any tips. Thank you ❤❤❤love from New York City
Some topics that come to mind are: mental Health, loneliness, pushing through difficult or financially scarse times and how these could possiblidade be tackled through looking after oneself, one’s home etc
Speaking of Chatsworth, if you get a chance look up the photos of Deborah (Debo) Cavendish's funeral. It was so charming as her coffin was wicker draped in flowers and the people who attended respectively lined the roads leading to and away from Chatsworth. Even her final home on the grounds of Chatsworth following her move was so sweet as were her gardens.
🇬🇧 I find Venice very romantic. 1970 We stayed in a cheap hotel near the station . As this meant that we needed to walk through all the romantic allyways to get to St. Marks Square
I loved this video. Some feedback for you... I really appreciate your channel being a place of respite and calm. I feel there are very few places I feel that - especially at the moment and I really love being here having a peaceful moment. Much Love Rachel
Nicolas!!! You are reading my mind….. soooo excited about the podcast. Love it!!! I think it is going to be an interesting chat as always. Apart from the topics you have mention would there be any tips on photography especially when capturing periodical houses. I really adore the sets of photos made and find them very unique - classy, deep and dark yet spectacular. Those houses are usually very dark and tips on how to take a perfect photo in those conditions, position….extra tips…. In addition I would love to see sth old sth new- you do dinners, lunches….tea party….what would be your extravagant breakfast set up to impress. You have hosted in many beautiful hotels, what tips…or ideas would you have for a splendid breakfast feast for a special guest… looking forward to watch your next vlog. Ps 1st question…I used to stop with my female friends and noticed if it is more then once there is always thst question. So despite if it is a man and a man or a woman and a woman….or a man and a woman, you will always trigger in heads of others The question… I guess it is called curiosity xx
What will be the name of your podcast with Nathan? I can’t wait to listen to it as I walk my little dog! Thank you for such lovely content, I appreciate you!

Because they are sad and unhappy with their own lives. Look at Nick and Nathan, living their best lives.
Ahhh....a man after my own heart! A rainy, gray morning, a luxurious, cozy bed shared with a beloved pet companion---can it get any better than that?
nope. It absolutely cannot.
You & Nathan are brothers. What a great friendship. That's rare nowadays.
The doggies 🐕 are simply scrumptious and so fortunate . The three of you look so relaxed , warm , and cozy .

Thank you, Nicholas, for giving us a safe place to unplug from every day life. Nicholas Day is a treasure and something I look forward to that leaves me feeling relaxed and calm and refreshed.
You look so comfortable in bed answering the questions giving us your thoughts on your private questions take care
You have been very successful in creating a safe, comfortable and cozy space. Thank you for that.
I have my cats all over my quilt right now the way you look interviewing I had to click on your video... you look like me right now only my cats are all around😊
I love those two sweet dogs, they are so cute and adorable and bark at the same time 😂❤
Nicolas, you are so right about what you said about "two men sharing a bed and that if it were two women, no big deal"! Spot on with all that! Love your chats and your honesty....that is what is going to constantly grow this channel and any other platform you work on, etc. Thanks again for another great video!
I love all your videos but especially this one i just find you very relaxing to listen to a beautiful voice very soothing 😊
Haha
You have it right..Nicolas .l the small moments is truly living … smelling the roses we are so blessed they way we live even without a lot of money
Hello from the Scottish Borders! It was a terribly grey day here for sure.
The Devonshire have the best house in England but they spent so much since the war in time, effort and making enough to make it
so splendid.😊
Isn't it great after you get out of bed for the day, and you make the bed - yes every day - and the room just feels put together.
❤F&A
I live very close to Chatsworth, and visit often. It’s probably the best stately home in the UK - a true jewel.
Your thoughts are so wonderful. Just the simple things. Love it. But don't forget to take time out to thank the Lord. I sit with my coffee and have my devotional. Be Blessed.
Nicolas, babe, the first 3 minutes or so of your explanation was an absolute HOOT 🦉I relished every moment. 💋
It’s chill.
💀 I clicked this video entirely too fast. The sweater choice for the thumbnail is *chef’s kiss*. 😂
A Dose of Dandy?! Dope!
It was so relaxing, hanging out with you and those two sweet pups.
Beautiful video Nicolas ❤....
So natural and easy going....
Ah!! And the two pups are so cute 😍....
A relaxing vlog.....👌
I've traveled often with my best friend and we've shared a bed. We're both female, married with children and it is what it is - best friends who happen to be sharing a bed. She wasn't happy as she said I snored. FYI I don't snore!
Looking forward to your guest room makeover!
Thank you for reminding me that I should step back once in a while and look for the beauty in all things. Love your channel!
(My favorite)
Q3: why didn’t you show us your entire hotel suite & the hotel lobby, grounds, etc?
I totally agree with you about your view on the world, and your videos are a beautiful escape for a short time, thank you for that ❤
You vlog from bed with tea, and I watch from bed with tea :)
Ha ha!
Thank you again for another informative and lovely video!
Our late majesty Queen Elizabeth had a collection of Howard chairs. 💕
I totally agree with you when it comes to small spaces and going dark instead of light which never seems to work.
