A really nice bag. Love all the additional touches. Like how you did the zipper. You do a great job of teaching. Thanks.
I am writing to let you know, once again, how enjoyable your tutorials are! They are so easy to follow and each one yields a beautiful, yet practical creation! You are the best! Please keep making your videos! Loving them all!
I absolutely love your tutorials and the bag is just darling! The cactus block looks so perfect on it and I’m honored that you chose to use it for this adorable project!
Thank you SO much for all the hard work it takes to not only put these projects together, but to vlog, do the PDF's, besides your business and family mommie must do's. We all need to take the time to thank you as you are truly super!
Thanks so much, I'm glad you like it!! :)
I totally agree! She makes it look easy, but she works so hard. ❤
Hi from the UK!
Thank you for this tutorial. I've just finished making it and I'm so pleased. Over lockdown my mum and I made a scrappy quilt together - she made squares and I made squares and then when we could get together again we joined them together. I had some left over and used then to make this bag. I used unwanted bed linen for the rest of it and a handy zip I had lying around. So, it didn't cost me a penny! I totally love my new scrappy bag. Thank you again!!! xx
Oh how fun! And you'll always remember that quilt too!
Beverly R.
All the new spring fabrics out and I am loving every moment of picking them out! Will be making this bag for friends birthdays and for future holidays. You are so patient and upbeat I love all of your tutorials! Thank you sew much!!
Adorable! I love your quilting/sewing videos so much! thank you... you're brilliant!
Erica, the bag is beautiful! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the world! 😊
Super cute bag. Got the cactus and the rose patterns. This is on my to do list.
You are a natural teacher! Very good video and an adorable bag. Thank you!
Cute bag Erica. It matches your squishy bag!!! Thanks for sharing.
I just love your energy! Thanks for sharing your tutorials.
Adorable bag! It’s just right in size with pockets and zippers. I love it!
Yay! Perfect for a diaper bag for my baby on the way. Love all those pockets
Thank you for the cutting instructions for a non-scrappy bag, too. I'm going to be making one of these in the next few days for someone who requested it, but I may also make a scrappy version for myself after the new year.
This bag is so adorable!!!! Can’t wait to make it!!!
Thank you Erica for this great tutorial, I just finished making mine and I'm very happy with it!!! 💚
You are so clever 😊 Love it...can’t wait to start this. Thanks once again Erica 👏🏻

Thank you so much for another awesome bag tutorial. I will be making one soon. I will be referring to your tutorials to complete it but I am changing up the design a little. I will send you a pic once it is all done. Your bag is super cute!

I was just saying yesterday that I wanted a bag with that zip pouch, then this video popped up for me! Thank you for the cute pattern.
Whoohoo! Perfect timing!!
Thanks for the pattern. Made an adapted version of this over the weekend. Worked out beautifully.
Great bag. I like the way you explain. I'm learning to sew and this is a bag that I'll make first!
Super cute, I always love your fabrics. Thanks so much for this tutorial and PDF!!
What a nice quiet machine you have, wow! Very nice bag, I love it. Thank you!
Love, Love, Love this bag can't want to make one for myself or a friend. Thank you so much for your video's.

I love love love this bag so much. when you started working on the cactus front i realized the green fabric with white flowers made the cactus look like he's has eyes.....and now i want a cactus with eyeballs bag even more! it totally made me giggle, and made me love it even more. :D great video, thanks for sharing! will now have to make a Cactus with eyeballs scrappy bag, ha!
Another great usable bag. Will definitely be making this one. Thnx Erica for your tutorials. Awesome!
I love this bag! Y ou are such a great instructor. I want to say that I really appreciate your directness and focus. So many videos lo se my attention because they do too much explaining. There isnt anythi g to explain if you are showing us exactly what to do, and that is what you do. To the point and no time wasting. Thank you so much again!
THANK YOU... I Love your video on this.. You explain it so well and with ease.. I'm so looking forward to more of your tutorial video. This is so so so cute...
Thank you for sharing this one. I am looking forward to making a similar one now I understand the order to put it all together. So much prefer your slower style vlogs compared to many others that speed things up.
I really like that bag I’m going to make one for sure!!
Erica, I’ve been watching this video for a couple years, was nervous about the zipper but finally got the courage to do it and it turned out so stinken cute. I love it. Thank you so much
Thank you, I am making this bag and am enjoying the process. I see myself making a few more for my sisters too.
Loved ;your tutorial . Such a clear presentation of getting the bottom turned
I thank you for giving so much of yourself to make these videos. I wish you as success in all you do.I’m new to quilting and you have helped me overcome my fear of quilting.
AWESOME!!! I want to love it multiple times!!!!
Thanks so much for this tutorial!! Just made this bag for myself and I am so impressed with the results!! This bag is soooo ADORABLE!!!
I am new to sewing, I plan to make a small version of this for the table/ counter to use for hot pots or pans. Thanks! Maybe after that I will try the entire rug.
Excellent tutorial. Thank you for taking the time to make it. Can’t wait to make this adorable bag!
Outside zipper pocket ... YES !!!!
Love it!
Your videos are exceptional. 😊 I enjoy them very much. Thank you for all the time it takes to prepare them for us.
I’ve made quite a few from this pattern...for my daughters, granddaughters, and several for myself! Thank you!
I added a second pocket inside and put a zipper in it. Problem I have is trying to remember what I put in which pocket...lol
I just finished making one of these and I love how it turned out. I used fusible fleece so it keeps its shape really well. I did run into trouble when I did the boxy bottom though. I inadvertently got both outer pockets on the same side when I flattened out the corners to sew. Once I figured that out I was good to go. It looks adorable and I think I'll make some more! I'm also thinking of adding a button and loop style closure to the top opening of the bag.
I think the button is a good idea, possibly for the front pocket too. xx
I can’t wait to make this bag!
Love those pockets, Yasss!!
Wow, that is just adorable!
Very cute, the colours look great together
My favorite bag pattern ever! Thank you
Lovely bag.
I did one extra thing, I ironed a small strip of fusible interfacing @ 12 :10 on the top part of inside pocket before turning it out .It gave the pocket a little form and stability .
Love your tutorials; you are so helpful. Every thing I've watched has helped me immensely!
Yay! So glad you're enjoying my tutorials!
Thank you so much for the tutorial! It was so easy to follow your instructions. I really enjoyed making this bag! I would love to see a tote like this with installation of a zipper for the main pocket or magnetic snap for the main pocket.
I love your tutorials....love this bag, thankyou
I love that cactus!!! Very sassy bag ~
Love this bag, a must try for me.
Thank you! It's adorable!
I have watched several good tutorials on making quilted bags, but have looked and looked for one that has a zipper pocket. So happy to have "stumbled" onto your video. Now I am subscribed and watching lots of what you have available. Thank you for your time and enjoyable on-camera presence. God bless.
Thank you Erica - great tutorial!
Great bag. fun way to use an orphan block as well, as a few extra precuts.. saving just for me. lol
Hi Erica!
Your projects are always looking so nice and squishy and cuddly! I like the way you do your sewing.
Greetings from germany! - Monika -
Loved it Erica, thank you! I will have to go over the lining bit (the error bit! ) to get my head clear but it's so pretty. I find it's easier to tack (baste) with a quick machine stitch close to the edge over each of the handles before I add the lining, it is a lot less fiddly and keeps them accurately in place! Elizabeth x oh, and I like your boxing the base method of the two triangles...great tip!
Yes, you could also tack the back zipper pocket lining on as well just to keep it in place.
I really like this video. Thank you for showing me something new.❤️🧶🙃
Just great
Eager to learn more tote bags of different types from u mam.
Thanks for sharing mam.
Making this today. Thank you!!
Lovely! will try to make one like yours Thank you
Love your tutorial have subscribe and am going to binge watch your others u are very easy to understand and u make it sound easy lol
This is the bag pattern I need for a Halloween tote bag.
I just made my second bag (I wish I could share pictures with you here) and it turned out really cute but I broke a needle and jammed my machine doing the boxy bottom. It was just too thick. I'm thinking on the next bag I might use interfacing instead of batting for the side pocket.
Love ur bag❤❤❤❤
beautiful bag
Cute! Cute! Cute!
Super cute
What a cute bag!! Floors must be done? Yeah! U have your room back...
Nope, I filmed this before I cleaned out my room LOL! They're starting today hopefully :)
Erica Arndt ,i sure hope its an easy job???? The kids will be wearing their socks out now.... Sliding all over the place.....lol....
Love!
Wow you are amazing, thank you 🥰
Great work
LOVE LOVE.. 😃
Love this! Can’t wait to make it! I made a couple of your other tote bags for end of year teachers gifts for this year. Can’t wait for the kids to give them as gifts. A little off topic but what is your favorite batting to use for your quilts?
I use Warm N White Cotton Batting: amzn.to/2EpSgQf
Erica Arndt thank you!
Thank you !
This bag looks beautiful, I'm going to do it . I do like the hanging quilt behind you, is it possible the show us how to make it too. Thank you very much 😊
Thanks! The quilt behind me was a mix of blocks from the Lori Holt Farm Girl Vintage Book: amzn.to/2uVl838
Love this tutorial and did make this bag. I only wish you added a fabric requirement in your supplies list or on the cutting instructions so we know how much fabric to purchase.
Hi, sorry I just put the individual pieces on this one because it was so scrappy.
Ive made one quilt.....so far......took me 2 and a half years to complete. Learned on utube. Does the math get better?
I enjoy your videos. Thank you.
Hello! Me gustó es ideal.🌾
Tutorial is stupendous. Each & every step is clearly explained. I think even a beginner can go through it. The zipper pocket is making it a dear one. How can a zipper be placed on the the entire bag??
Hi, here's one I did with a zipper on the whole bag ua-cam.com/video/bjVjVK230kA/v-deo.html
@@erica_arndt Thank you so much for your support. Iam going to try it soon for my daughter.
Love your videos. Thanks for sharing. Where can you get the pattern for the wall hanging behind you?
Thanks! The quilt behind me was a mix of blocks from the Lori Holt Farm Girl Vintage Book: amzn.to/2uVl838
I love this bag it’s so cute ❤️ could you do a bag with a zip on the top to close the bag completely? I would like to make one to take with me to the Christmas market this year to carry all my goodies 😂
Yes, I do have a zip top bag tutorial coming soon!
Yay!! That’s awesome! Can’t wait 😊
Dear Sarah, I am seeing this video and comments months after the video aired. So, you may have already worked everything out fine. However if not, you can take coordinating fabric or leftover fabric from the bag and make an inserted zipper top. I've done it many times to bags I've bought or been given and it is super easy. Please look for videos with keywords like "zipper tops added to bags" or "inserted zippers" and I'm sure you'll see how easy it can be; good luck.
Bag is very Beautiful Best Quality
Absolutely beautiful bag and wonderful tutorial! Can you tell me the name of the beautiful cherry fabric with the blue background and where I could find some of it? 😊
Hi, that is an older Lori Holt print from her Vintage Happy collection I believe?
New to your channel, I’ve been looking for quilters opinion of cutting fabric for quilts on the Cricut Maker machine. Any information would be helpful. Thanks , Joan
Honestly, I find it faster to just cut my own shapes/sizes rather than use the machines. But the Cricut Maker or even the Big Shot die machines are nice if you're cutting out an intricate design I suppose.
Great tutorial, thank you. What size needle do you use for this bag?
I just used my normal 90/14
Love this bag. Only thing missing for me is a zipper on the top opening. Would it be possible to fit a zipper on the top of this bag. Great tutorial. x
Great idea! I was thinking the same thing! I'll do another tutorial for a zipper top :)
@@erica_arndt Did you ever do the video?
Thanks!
Thanks so much!
I cannot download the cutting instructions x ps love your videos x
😍😍😍
Erica. Could you use some very thin foam for making the bag more standy uppy? Is this the tutorial you talked about last week when you did the weekender bag but were going to put a zipper in it?
Yes you can definitely use foam if you prefer. And no, I have a new tutorial going up this week for the weekend size zipper tote
Cute tote, where did you get the material on the sides of your cactus piece
It's from the Lori Holt Bee Background "Grey Handmade" print. I think Fat Quarter Shop still has some, and you can probably find it on Etsy as well :)
Has anyone used bosal dbl side foam on a bag that is paper pieced block with patches of fabrics and would you need to do any type quilting on it? I like the sturdiness the foam gives but I'm new to quilting and not sure what type would be right to use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You can use foam as well, I like this type: amzn.to/2SyPQZC and yes, you would want to quilt it just like I show in this video or the fabric doesn't quite stay in place right.
