I worked on and flew in the Bristol 170, there was nothing wrong with them, they did exactly what they were designed for. Carrying freight and passengers, slowly. We called them 50,000 rivets flying in close rattling formation. They had a window in the doors at the front and you could lie on the floor watching the ground go by.
I was like, there’s no way that is the only B-17 left... My grandfather flew in one that got shot down over Germany. He survived and took me to air shows where I saw B-17’s as a kid.

The last time I checked there were 11 B-17s still flying. The most complete is the 'Yakee Lady' owned by the Yankee Air Museum willowrun airport out side of Bellevile, MI. I was a member and spent many amazing hours flying in in this trully impressive air craft.

There's a few wild inaccuracies in your video. Swamp ghost, the B-17 is just one of many B17s left, the russian space shuttle and it hanger are still alive and well, and Exploring the Unbeaten Path youtube channel just did an urbex video exploring it 2 years ago.
Swamp Ghost is the only one in Original as built condition. There are many B-17's, some in flying condition. All have been restored to flying or static.
Actually the Original Russian Space Shuttle was Destroyed bc the hangar Collapsed but there is one that looks exactly like the Original one in a German Museum
I believe there are also several non-flyable B-17's that are close to 100% complete but are not flown by choice of their owners. I know of one G model at the 8th Air Force Museum in Savannah Ga. as well as a G model "Sleepy Time Gal", built by Douglas Aircraft 1945 that sits in the museum on the grounds of Dover AFB in Delaware. Both these museums belong on the bucket list of any military aviation enthusiast.
The safe air Bristle Freighter show flew out of Christchurch New Zealand and lost a engine which fell onto a golf course near Christchurch airport. I flew on Safe Air Bristle freighter from Christchurch to the Chatham Island. The plan had a very low take off speed and good rate of climb but was slow and noisy !

And that was due to economic reasons, not its safety record! Not many aircraft have a better safety record after that much time in service... and the type of flying it was exposed to!... I would polish it and put all protection I could imagine, I would restore their flat tyres and do all in my chance to make it look brand new only to please my eyes.. Now I live in a house, but I remember long time ago my father's uncle had a farm, a large piece of land.. when he died the land was sold, but I wish I had that land, I would build a floor and I would gladly have a plane there, just to admire it.. I wouldn't have a destroyed rusty plane, I would rather have a plane that can be polished and restored 100% on the outside, even if nothing of circuits or engine works. In 1995 in Bali, Indonesia, I saw an intact and abandoned 737 in the suburbs that seemed to have been build around, leaving it no way out unless dismantled. Don't know anything about this one so maybe someone reading this might be able to shed some light on either aircraft.

In fact it was only ever designed to fly just above the waves on the cushion of air it creates under its short wings! The Soviets developed the plane into three huge prototype craft which could cruise at over 200 kmph just skimming the waves of the Caspian Sea! In fact it was only ever designed to fly just above the waves on the cushion of air it creates under its short wings! The Soviets developed the plane into three huge prototype craft which could cruise at over 200 kmph just skimming the waves of the Caspian Sea! There's a few UA-cam videos featuring the creation of them.
