Why is the move still legal in folk style I always wandered that and the banana split
because like the hammer lock they are only dangerous once you hyper extend the joint or break the 90 degree threshold , I worked hammer locks a ton and got real used to old man ref breath when they get in close to monitor the angle

Mike Mansell if you dont crank it its a perfectly valid move and theres no reason to make it illegal. Just because it hurts doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a place in wrestling, a lotta shit hurts

It doesn't have to hurt. My daughter and son use both all the time in wrestling. It is actually a better pin if you don't hurt them.

I dig the technique, but I'm not a big fan of hyperbole. 2:07 Perhaps wait until you have something locked up before saying the match is over. When someone takes your back (example), you shouldn't assume the match is over. How many times have we seen even a locked in armbar, triangle, or RNC, only to see the person escape. AT LEAST wait until your submission is locked in before declaring the match is over.
