🏅Yay!!! I can't wait to see your best plants of 2023!! I actually think that this is the first time that I have commented on your channel! I watch you all the time tho! Love you and your content and I recently watched your video with Claire!!!! What a great duo!
I have good results with snake plant leaves-only thing I do have luck with 😂. I have cut leaves into 3 inch sections & put them in water-so you could chop yours & have 6 or so rooting! They’ll grow babies off all. I’ve even removed babies & put the leaf back in for more 🤣 x
My favorite plant right now is my Peace Lilly! It only gave me one bloom this spring and then I was totally happy if it never bloomed again. I'm still watering when it needs to be watered but other than that I haven't paid too much attention to it. Then last night, I noticed it's starting to bloom again! I think I screamed 😱 like, a joyful scream hahaha. I was not expecting that at all, especially since it's almost winter!
Mine just had a couple of late September blooms die off, I'm hoping she lays off now as I'd like her to concentrate on her roots and leaves ready for repotting in spring, if poss 😅
I would like to thank you so much! I saw a video of your spraying sulfur using your new sprayer. I ordered one right away. What a life saver. I have sprayed sulfur before with a hand sprayer that was constantly getting plugged up. This was so easy. Thanks again.
My absolute fave right now is my string of pearls! It is completely covered in blooms and they smell so spicy and amazing! It’s actually a very Christmassy smell. 🥇
You should start adding silicone to your plants. Most plants can happily defend against pests if they're happy and healthy although the odd plant will always get them as we're in an artificial environment. Also I swear by ecothrive charge. It has chitin in it which makes plants think there are pests near by, paired with the silicone or ideally monosilicic acid they will increase the strength of their cell walls which makes it much harder to attack. There is also a UK company that sells ortho silicic acid which works out a tad cheaper. Standard silicone from a grow shop will up the ph a lot, the ones I mentioned don't. Hope this helps with the pests. 70% alcohol is also a life saver as they don't build resistance to it. I've never tried it for fungal infections though, fungi are pretty amazing at life.
I 100% agree on adding both Silicone and EcoThrive Charge to plants. The Silicone that I use also has added Potassium, (it's called Potsil), and all my plants are growing much stronger and more resilient to pest attacks. The plants that didn't have EcoThrive Charge in the soil (because I forgot to add it on their repots) fared far worse when I had an infestation of Western Flower Thrips this summer/autumn. And the only thing that completely got rid of those was a sulphur hotbox. The variegated plants particularly give much better variegation without melting or crisping due to the Potsil, too. Both of those additives are an absolute godsend.
@@Carey.S75 just checked that out and it looks really similar to the shogun one I used to use. Does it spike your pH a huge amount? The reason I stopped using it was that. I ended up using loads of phosphoric acid to bring it down and once had what looked like a phosphoric toxicity. Ended up changing to nitric acid which caused a ton of other issues. If you have trouble with it, take a look at grow genius which is expensive but you use an absolutely tiny amount or safesol which I have been using recently after a a lot of searching and so far it's going well. I'll need another few months for a full report though. On the subject of ecothrive... They're the best lol. I have been using their flourish for propagations and foliar feeding larger plants and it's pretty amazing stuff. I fond with other seaweeds they can go bad but this seems super stable. I have also tried their neutralise for my calatheeas and it's helped with tip burn. Sorry for the wall of text. I could go on for days.
With the snake plant leaves you can keep them in the water until a pup forms. I have one in with a pothos cutting and it has a little pup growing. I have also chopped leaves up to get more chances for one to take root. I have recently gotten 4 hoya's so excited to watch them grow!
🌱 Hey ur Sansevieria Metallica will give pup for sure but the pup from leaf cutting will revert to regular green sansevieria 🤷🏻♂️ Sansevieria should be propagated through pup division to keep cv properties of mother plant 👍🏼🌱
I was worried when you tasted the nectar. Be careful when using sulphur, esp non-cosmetic kind. And my faves rt now are my terrariums and probably my goeldii. Just bc I now get 12 "fingers" per stem compared to 5-6 when first got plant.
I literally just licked the nectar. Those flowers came out after the sulfur treatment, so don’t have sulfur on them. It’s not like I was licking the leaf 😅 And lovely faves!
Pallidiflorum is do gorgeous . Q. Do you think the sulphur on the hoya polyneura might have helped with the flowering as its also a fertiliser? 🏅 Plants if 2023 please
🏅Don’t forget that plants sometimes flower if there is added stress. Death blooms lol. Sorry, don’t mean to burst your bubble 😅 I’m actually under watering my Hoya sunrise on purpose right now cuz it has like 5 peduncles and I want them to blooom!!!
And also, the snake plants worked so fast for me. I put them in a south window and NEVER changed the water lol. They’ve all rooted and multiple have babies. ❤

@@GoodGrowing that makes sense! If the blooms opened after, there wouldn’t be any sulfur on it. lol I have yet to have a Hoya bloom but I’m so excited to taste one!
Oh Hun, be careful licking plants that you treated with Sulfur. There’s something I never thought I’d say 😂 From Bonide Sulfur Plant Fungicide,: Harmful if swallowed, inhaled, or absorbed through skin. May cause irritation of eyes, nose, throat and skin. Avoid contact with eyes or skin. Btw, where is your accent from?

🏅You cracked me up, tasting your hoya and wrestling your glorious. It´s good to see you enthousiastic and energetic about your collection again.

You can always chop the flowers to help it refocus energy

The sprayer is a game changer for sure!! No more hand cramps & blocked nozzles!! So glad I could help!

Be careful if it's Anthurium in no drainage. I burned the crap out of 1/2 a dozen plants.
Oooh I’ve not heard of silicone for plants! Will defo look into it! Thanks for the tips
You could just add a second larger trellis to the Parasitica! No need to unwrap any vines...just train the new runners onto the new trellis. 🏅
Glad you like the Palli anthurium 😊
I’m OBSESSED with it! It’s sooo gorgeous! Thank you so much!

@@GoodGrowing I got a Carnosa, Parasitica black margin, Sigitalis wide leaf and a Burtonaie. I also have a Variegated macrophylla/latifolia

El choco red is not an artificial hybrid, it was found in nature.
I was coming to the comments to say this. I just googled it to make sure I was right. 😂
Ah whoops! Idk where I heard that but now I know! Thanks!

Hrmmm I didn’t even think about that… but I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that it’s actually just happier now that the pests are being managed
I see where the excitement of blooms would let you forget, but I’d be cautious of licking the Hoya blooms if they’ve been treated with the sulfer. ❤
