That car is Chartruse! It’s a green that falls very very close to the yellow side of the color wheel. Honestly you’re both right, and most people would stay divided on that. Haha I just think whatever you feel the colors is, you’re right. lol It’s exactly like Violet. Most people would say yeah that’s purple, but so many people see blue and who am I to say their perception is wrong. For them it’s blue and that’s that. Haha
Hi Claire, the colour of the car is Chartreuse. Your hoya with the dodgy leaf might need some cal mag. Just a thought as i don't own it but it can really help.
Flatmites are sometimes so incredibly difficult to spot. Another, possibly easier way to spot them is not to look directly with a microscope, but to scan the leaves and stem with the sticky side of transparent tape. Everything that was attached to the plant is then fixed to this small area. You can now stick this onto white paper and then scan it very quickly with the microscope. There are also mites in the top layer of substrate that only stay on the plant for a short time. It really got on my last nerve to track them down as I didn't know what I was actually looking for, I just had exactly the same problems with many of my Hoyas as you did with your Hoya from Sarawak. So, more by chance, I submerged a plant with its substrate under water and then illuminated the surface with a very bright light in a completely dark room. Small particles floating on the surface cause a small curvature of the surface, which interrupts the reflection of the light source from the dark background. And there I could see it. Tiny crawling movements of eight little legs. After treating the substrate several times, the hoyas are now growing normally again… for the winter.
And problem with hoya Sarawak may be linked with lack of microelements (Calcium, Copper) so very careful feeding could help. It's good to check pH of water, because if too high or too low, microelements cannot be absorbed by roots.
I’d call the car yellow, but it’s a very highlighter green toned yellow😅 Yes! The maranta mealie problem is real! I find it impossible to get them all. If the infestation gets bad I’m just cutting it back.
Thank you, for the exciting updates, I like them more than I like the Monthly Favorites. I enjoy the real things about plant care. The goods, the bad, the pests, the remedies, the care and love. I love your channel.
Out of all the bear paw leaves I've tried propagating, probably a dozen, only one worked and it wasn't a purposeful prop, it was from a leaf that fell and I just didn't pick it up.
My euphorbia looks just like yours! I’ve been contemplating on what to do. 😅 I think I’ve landed on cutting off all the arms at the point where they grew from on its mother arm and pot them in with her, instead of doing head chops. There’s more chance of rot. I think it would look amazing with a full pot of arms compared to a head chop because im worried about having open wounds on the tops , plus it’s probably not aesthetically pleasing. AND I definitely believe the rooting process will be much easier and more successful coming from a smaller wound on the bottom of the arm. It takes so long to root cacti that get decapitated 😂😂❤
We just got back from Hawaii, we go every year, but this year I got into plants way more, hit a botanical garden, I was blown away, I have prob 80% of the plants at home that were there, but the size of the ones in Hawaii!!! I almost didn’t recognize what they were they were so big and mature! Incredible The car is right on the line between green and yellow!! I can’t decide Ross’s begonia was all over the gardens we went too, it must’ve had 2 foot long leaves or even more
I had to chop up my cebu pothos due to neglect and it got root rot. I kept looking at it like I need to check that plant and by time I finally did the rot happened. They bounce back quickly from cuttings though.
Hi the same thing happened to my small White Princess in the summer. One leaf with pink in it. Wondered if you take a cutting from that part you could get a plant with 3 colours! Just to say I think Yoli is adorable ❤
Hi Claire. Do Hoyas need a lot of calcium? New growth dying off right away can be due to a calcium deficiency, if it is not pest related. I have never grown one but overall, most plants would have a hard time starting off their new growth if they have a calcium deficiency. It might be worth testing a cal mag addition to its water and seeing if it improves.
The car is grellow 😂 Also, my marantas have have had more issues with mealies than spidermites in my experience, and it's always total devastation in the end because of their hiding skills 😬 Yet they leave my hoyas alone, go figure 🤷♀️ I loved seeing Joli and Ross getting on so well in the background 🤣🤣🤣
Love the videos Claire! Thank you for sharing 😊 I was wondering if you have ever tried insect frass? It’s an organic fertilizer that contains this wonderful nutrient, chitin. Chitin triggers your plants to have an auto immune reaction to the insect frass making them think they’re under attack and they put up a natural resistance to pest. Plants are exposed to this in abundance in nature but rarely in cultivation. I know you’re not a fan of chemicals either so I figured I would at least mention it 😁🌺
That car is definitely green to me haha! Also thanks for showing your monstera dubia! I had never seen a mature fenestrated one before and it looks so cool!
I also completely chopped up my micans cause of thrips. How long did it take your micans wet sticks to propagate from cutting up to now? I find in all forms of propagation of my micans, they are extremely slow to root up and put out leaves. Did you find the same?
I enjoyed this episode so much. The High Point for me was the fact that you mentioned the Silver Sword. I feel like nobody has one but me. Oh, and I definitely second your emotion when you said you looked at the Cebu Blue and knew you needed to do something about it but you didn’t. You are not alone.
So on the car color question, if I had to choose, I’d say green. However, it’s definitely a bit of both so I think you are both right. I guess the question is which is the more dominant color. Green in my opinion. Also, my Sarawak just started growing my first new leaves! 4 at once! I’m hoping they don’t die off
Love your plant collection. A true jungle haven!!! In regard to your picture of the car. From what I can see it looks fluro yellow on my screen. I'm experimenting with some of my fussier plants by placing them in Leca. So far, I have repotted both my Calathea - Warscewiczii, Veitchiana and Orbifolia. As well my Begonia - T rex St. Nick. So far so good. but it will take a few months to see true success. Enjoyed your video!!! 💚
I'm a new follower Claire and now I'm hooked on you babe , love seeing you and learning more each time, you're so lovely. Claire I dunno if you have an areca palm but would love a video on that x
That car looks like a neon/lime green to me, but i can also see how people would see it as yellow. Especially considering how close it looks to a highlighter yellow.. if there was a different angle/lighting it might be easier to tell for sure though Edit** i checked on their website, and the only colour I can find similar is called "Zesty Yellow" but it also looks more green than yellow... so who knows If its an older model, it might be Zesty Green or something 🤣🤷🏼♀️🤣
Hello Claire How is the humidity level in your home? Ours in winter is just over 30%, it is too low for most of my plants 😢 I am using a humidifier but the rooms are sooo big it only goes up to 40% and no more.
If you have heaters you could put some shallow bowls of water on top or have a drying rack with some wet (not dripping wet) linens hung to dry. It really helps me with humidity in winter although it for sure takes up time and space to do
I know it's not an easy decision and you recently said that you're having a hard time with it, but why not throw away the dead plants that you have so many cuttings of and just start over again? Its a way to downsize your collection

Hi, I work for BMW/MINI. The colour is zesty yellow. love your videos. New hair really suits you too 😊
I was going to call it lemon lime (like my favorite philodendron 😂)
Hi Claire, the colour of the car is Chartreuse. Your hoya with the dodgy leaf might need some cal mag. Just a thought as i don't own it but it can really help.
I’d say the mini is neon pothos colour! 👍🏻

The car looks neon green to me 💚
The car is likely literally yellow-green hahahaha but the official color from the manufacturer is "zesty yellow" hahaha
I enjoyed this update thanks for sharing Claire. Hi Jolie! Im glad the majority of your plants are doing okay. Ross' Begonia is so pretty!😊❤
I’d call the car yellow, but it’s a very highlighter green toned yellow😅

I absolutely love the beautiful variety of plants you have. Just gorgeous. I love all your videos. So informative ❤

Coincidentally my white princess has put out a leaf with some pink in it recently 💖
I'd say the car is Chartreuse 🚗
I'd say the car is chartreuse (which is a green/yellow or yellow/green if you prefer!)
My white princess just put out some pink too! I'm so excited for you! ^.^
Another theory on your hoyas growth that I have heard is that the curl is from inconsistent watering. I have no idea if this is correct.
Love the hair and all your videos you have inspired me as well as helped me become a great plant parent much love❤

What is your procedure for getting all your plants watered??? Love your videos.
I have a silver sword too and it is huge! My husband made me a really nice trellis for it and it's loving it
THAT DUBIA?! I'm so jealous.
green!
I think the car is a neon that is as green as it is yellow. I bet it looks different in cool and warm light...
How many plats do you have?
So on the car color question, if I had to choose, I’d say green. However, it’s definitely a bit of both so I think you are both right. I guess the question is which is the more dominant color. THE CAR IS GREEN
Hi Clare, can you get rid of the Scam comments above? Not sure if you're able to, but worth trying. Id hate fir one of your followers to get scammed.
That car looks like a neon/lime green to me, but i can also see how people would see it as yellow. Especially considering how close it looks to a highlighter yellow..

What a great idea to hang your aloe vera! They get top heavy and fall over anyway, might as well hang it.
Yayy!! Love new exciting things. 😂🎉
Love your collection. And the car is green 😆
Amazing collection 💚
I've got a question: You have Your Dubia in semi-hydro with moss pole. Won't the moss cause the rot of plant's roots? 🤔
I honestly think it’s chartreuse. The manufacturer calls it zesty yellow: so I’ll go with yellow 😆
yellow
Lime green !! 😂😂
GREEENNN 😆
Green! Lime green 100% 😜

Green car 🚙 for sure, but has a lemon/lime philodendron, pothos vibe for sure 😂
That car color is chartreuse in my opinion.
The Mini Cooper is Yellow but with a greenish tint😂😂
Chatruese hopefully I spelled it right. 😂 I voted green on the car. But I would technically say chartreuse ❤ love your channel!
The car is yellow to me
💚🌱🌵
Ross’s begonia reminds me of the dinosaur, in Jurassic Park that spreads its sidehead wings right before a attack 😅 🦕 🦖
❤
My silver swords do that too. 😢
That car is yellow...
I know it's not an easy decision and you recently said that you're having a hard time with it, but why not throw away the dead plants that you have so many cuttings of and just start over again? Its a way to downsize your collection
It’s yellow! 😂
I would suggest that your Sarawak is needing more frequent watering
Also, love your content.
Lime color car
That's called show and tell 😂
Chartreuse.😊
