    **Can they be modded for tablets?**
    I opened the controllers to see if they were using a similar system to GameSir, not quite. There is a coil but it is utilized exclusively for the retraction mechanism. The communications are handled through a ribbon cable, much like nearly every telescopic controllers. Modding still is a possibility, but nowhere near as simple and convenient.

    I'm not sure why I missed this review initially; but, better late than never. You said at the end of this video that you were taking a couple steps back to enable you to take many steps forward. Mission accomplished. You've came a long way in the four months since this review was first published.

      I am of the belief that the universe selects vessels to reach out to one another. And that a few times in our lives, we get to be that messenger for somebody else. Today, you've been that person for me. Matt, be it by fluke or by some sort of "bigger than life" intervention, you left this comment at a moment that I absolutely needed to hear, and be reminded of.
      For all the time you spend interacting with me, for always bringing value with the comments you make in so many refreshing ways. I am extremely grateful for your presence and for the kind words you have brought me.
      Thank you Matt.

    Hey, Klef!
    Found your channel after looking for reviews of the M10. Congrats on the videos, all with great production and very informative!
    I’d love to see a latency test/comparison between the EasySMX M05, M10, Gamesir G8 Galileo and the G8+, if possible. I’m especially curious about the differences between a direct connection, through Lightning and USB-C (particularly on iOS devices, since I’m an iPhone user with an older 13 Pro Max), and Bluetooth.
    Is that something you’d be interested in doing? I’d really look forward to seeing it!

      The struggle would be to get the latency on both Android and iOS. If such a tool exist, I wouldn't know where to look, nor where to start. So I benchmark on PC and hope that the data carries over to Android and iOS. With that said, I'm setting myself up little by little to test latency at hardware level but that won't be for a good while still.

      You got taste... when it comes to cups! 😂 Joking aside, no point in pretending, the V2/V2 Pro was not a great solution in my subjective opinion. With that said, I do believe the M10 to be objectively better on all front but 3.5mm jack and software.

      Kishi v2 is among the worst. Instead of actually improving on the Kishi v1 design, which Gamevice did with the Gamevice Flex, they decided to make a bad copy of the Backbone, a controller that is already outdated in this market because Backbone is very slow to update the design. A bad copy two years too late.

  • @tuen9222
    @tuen9222 2 місяці тому +1

    I disagree about the M10.
    I have tested it thoroughly and personally I find it uncomfortable for long sessions, if you play in bed, and compared to other telescopic gamepads it tires your hands due to the position of the abxy action buttons, that is exactly the problem in my opinion.
    Furthermore, the abxy action keys are too small, badly positioned too low and the click of the buttons is too soft, in the long run even here when you have to do so many key presses it becomes tiring. Another problem is the housing for placing the smartphone, you are forced to remove the cover if it is too thick, but even if it is thin the type-c port barely fits, you have to push it and force it to enter.
    For everything else it's excellent, but it's a shame that maybe I'll resell it, maybe the easysms M05 is better, maybe it has better made abxy action buttons.
    And in this regard, I must say that the Razer Kishi V2, I had in the past, was much better in terms of feedback than those keys (although I am a fan of soft membrane keys), those of the Kishi are excellent microswitches, better than the backbone ones too. I will most likely get the Kishi V2 Pro also because of the 3.5 mm jack input.
    I have many other telescopic gamepads and I use the BSP D6, gamesir G8, BSP D8, Backnone ps edition a lot. The one I use the most is the BSP D6, I find the action keys and ergonomics here to be perfect.

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  2 місяці тому +1

      Hey, comfort is definitely the most subjective aspect there is. With that said, I still favor the M05 to the M10 but based off of all I tested, I could make do with the M10 despite it not being my go to. For me Kishi V2 and V2 Pro are abysmal controllers and while yes, I can play with them, I will quickly dislike my experience.
      But I'm glad you provided your feedback, someone may have similar experiences to yours and be able to relate with your preferences, that's what my channel is all about, bringing like minded gamers to share their opinions so that we can all make better informed decisions when indulging in our gaming peripherals.

    Really nice video. I think the M10 is the better choice because of the hall effect thing... honestly, I am kinda traumatized with the goddamn drift, I lost so many PC controllers through the years because of this. Never tried hall effect, I think this is a rather new tech, right? So who knows if this thing is really more durable or not... but between a new gimmick compared to the old one who broke time and time again, hell, I will try something new.
    On a side note, I wish there was a controller out there who can spoof/mimic/copy the "dualsense" vibrations, for example the Ghost of Tsushima port takes advantage of this gimmick... so, dualsense + hall effect + a turbo function, that's all I need and I just can't find a controller like this

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  2 місяці тому

      I’d love for that too but while there are controllers using the same “haptic” type of rumble, it still is not as valuable without access to the “data line” so having both would indeed be killer to have. AFAIK, that is not available on the market outside of proprietary or licensed controllers.

    • @RRRRRRRRR33
      @RRRRRRRRR33 Місяць тому

      @@GameTechTalk I searched a bit more and another person pointed out the Apex 4, I saw a video of a brazilian guy testing the "haptic feedback" and it seems like Flydigi were able to spoof the triggers feedback (they get stuck, they vibrate, etc), but the vibration on the controller itself is not working (he tested Last of Us and Forbidden West). So the spoof is not quite there it seems, the most expensive chinese controller can't do it properly. Curious, the PS5 is already 4 years old and the chinese were not able to reverse engineered this particular gimmick. The controller can be recognized as a "dualsense" (using a external app by the way), but the vibration don't work 100% I wonder how the Nintendo "HD rumble" feels like, another kind of vibration that I never experienced (most likely it will be underwhelming, both gimmicks, but I remain curious)

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  Місяць тому +1

      @@alaaeddine7465 I would say so but the BSP-D8 Pro is by no means a bad controller, its just a controller that doesn’t have a quality up there on every single one of its aspects, neither does the M05 despite being overall superior (quality wise). It also isn’t VASTLY superior, just a little from where I stand.
      With that said, the features on the BSP are easily unrivalled in that face-off. So with features into account, and because I would favor a « larger » controller, I’d say D8. But if you favor portability and small form factor, then M05. I hope this makes sense.

    The m10 vs Kishi v2 which one weighs more and feels more premium? And out of those 2 how do they compare to the weight and feel of the backbone 2nd gen? Thank you

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  2 місяці тому +2

      I do not own the 2nd gen backbone but my understanding is that the only change is better case compatibility. So I'll assume that weight is nearly identical. M10 is 145g, Backbone USB-C is 139g. Kishi V2 Pro is 137g. Feel wise, the plastic feels ever so slightly better on Kishi v2 than EasySMX M10 but its so close you could think its a v1/v2 of the same product. M10 has better ergonomics and sticks as well as buttons in my humble opinion.
      As for Backbone, it feels better than both, definitely more than the Kishi v2, not as much when compared to the M10. Hence why I rate the M10 higher, its 95% to the Backbone but it's 1/3 of the price. Cheers!

      The one issue with mobile controllers now having rumble is that it is such a brand new move. With a slew of problems to have to deal with like MFi, games having proper rumble data tracks, the rumble being directed to the controller (as opposed to the phone/tablet), it will probably be a few years before the market has standardized rumble to "just work" when it's expected to.
      Games developers have their parts in that as well, some will eventually patch things out, some won't. So to your point, yes it's very inconsistent if and how it will work. Android is doing a bit better these days despite having had rumble support after Apple did though. That is mainly due to how hardware drivers are handled on Android but on iOS, Apple also has to do a fair amount of work themselves. They've been good with gaming lately so who knows, we might see that solution fixed sooner rather than later. Time will tell!

      @@GameTechTalk Thank you for such an insightful response! I didn’t realize it is such a new feature on the market! Even looking into MFi, and delving deeper, this is absolutely a new generation of technology for mobile we are looking at. It will be exciting to see it unfold!
      I also agree that it will be up to developers to some extent, especially Apple allowing said technology to work, let alone be natively supported, as we still do not have access to JIT Support as they consider it a security risk, a very needed feature for certain applications to run at their best. However given Apples surprisingly positive reception to gaming and the push even they have given, I have no doubt we will see a lot of progress this year! Exciting times for IOS users! I for one am ready to have my phone be my replacement to the PSP I carry everywhere!
      Lastly, I recently discovered that IOS actually has an app for the M05, it’s called MooWii Gaming and it actually allows for full customization of the controller! It’s admittedly a little outdated, but I found it to be a useful tool to test the vibration, and even allows for buttons to be added to a list that when pressed, will run the vibration! If you ever have the time I would definitely check it out as it can change a lot! The tool is under “Game Station” if you press “go to” upon having the app locate the controller.
