Maybe one day Lovebites may be your favorite. I had a favorite band for 30+ years in Led Zeppelin. When I heard Opeth, they became my favorite band. It took 20 years and now Lovebites is my favorite band. Only 3 bands I've given that title to in 62 years.
Why these girls are best metal band in the world right now? Because they can take progressive metal, a ballad, power and heavy metal elements-combine it all together in one song with that 80ies sound (which is best sound ever) and melt your brain every time. Whats not to like? Just outstanding. I hope that they will make this kind of music for at least 20 more years

I counted no less than five guitars that Miyako used in this concert as well as an electronic keyboard, a keytar and a full sized concert grand piano. They must need a separate van just for all her instruments!

"Frozen Serenade" is the LOVEBITES song that has the largest number of surprises for the listener, and they range from fun, to wonderful, to jaw-dropping. Those will vary, of course, depending on your preferences, but everyone is getting surprised! AND on top of that, the song is not just great, it is a work of total art in performance, in the original meaning of attempting to unite the human senses into one experience... I don't know if they involved the smell too (like some candles and cinnamon apples aroma), but they should have! AND make it cold for the audience with some wild wind blowing! :))) My jaw was on the floor already when the riff started, backed up by the unusually beefy bass and the drums fighting for dominance with the guitars seemingly going their way. Then both the guitarists doing the interlude with their guitars on (did Midori remind me of the RUSH guitarist in that?). The biggest "Wait-WHAT?!" type of surprise did not even register on the first listen - as it seemingly did not even for you. :) Try counting seconds from the moment the piano stops after the interlude until you see Miyako up and getting into the riff. 1? 2? This was remarkable even by her (their) standards. And lastly, the surprise that should not be missed, which is at least wonderful if not jaw-shattering, is how Miho goes riffing along with the guitars for the full last third of the song! Effectively acting as a rhythm guitar during the last leads. Without a pick. How about THAT. No. Weak. Links. Who cares at this point, but this masterpiece will remain my favorite - until the ladies outdo the competition (i. e. themselves) again.
