To tell you a true story, my uncle who has been laboring in the USA for the past 19years finally repatriate back home to Ghana last month. He's now about 60years old. Upon meeting him at the airport, I was almost in tears seeing him looking much older than my 70years old dad living in Ghana, and he is also suffering from diabetes. That's how come I did believe that America is not ''Heaven " as being propagated.
Well said sis! There's no better feeling than being home. light off, mosquitos and all! It is one of the best decisions i've ever made. Can't wait to join you all again!
I would like to no what would be the best way to move from the US to Ghana. I don't no the first step. Everyone just tell you about how it is to in Ghana. I just need the step. So if you could please email me at Blackdiamondinc@live.com. my name is Aset. I could truly need you help.
UK is very HARD. I'm tired of the racism, ageism (and I'm mid-30s) low quality of life (pollution, bad energy and fast-paced) and lack of opportunities for my career to progress. Save money, make the plan work after all these lockdowns. All the best Nana.
Thanks Nana. Very true. Look at how your skin is glowing, real vitamin D effect. Just got back from Ghana and I’m so down and stress over the rat race in the west. Can’t wait to finish my project and relocate. Ghana is where my heart really is. We have real people to interact with on the daily basis and not just on social media and people are less stress. Despite all the riches in the west, people are still not happy. Chasing materialistic will not make one happy. Let’s be content and appreciate the little we have. Ghana might not have everything in place but we have our peace of mind. It’s also nice to share our knowledge and education with people back home, who lacks exposure. Well done and thank you for sharing x
I’ve decided that I want to spend the last years of my life in a warm country, the land of my ancestors. I was born in England and fortunately I have also lived and schooled in Trinidad and Lagos. I hope to visit in 2021 and move to live in Ghana from London in 2022. I hope to establish an after school project for children to learn about farming or similar.
"romanticising" is the Big éléphant in the room that blind sides most people after The Year of Return campaign and other UA-camrs who are silently struggling real bad.
I think you made the right decision after looking at current events. I'm in California and I've been saving my money for the big move to the motherland.
My life right now, working 12 hours a day with only one day off in a month in the uae , and so tired, and depressed. Missing that social life back home and can't wait to go back.
So bummed I didn’t get to meet u. Hoping to meet another time. Hoping to come to Ghana for a year or so the next timee am there 🙏. 0 stress when am in Ghana thats my reason and that’s where my heart is. Thanks for sharing x
Thank you for this! People need to understand that there is a learning experience that you can never get in the West. If someone really want to grow then then need to move to Africa. It does not have to be long term but I think really important for personal development !
Very helpful. Especially the comment about being cautious with romanticizing the thought of moving to Ghana. But though I was born in Canada, visiting Ghana without family this past December has shown me so much and many of what you have mentioned and I'm contemplating moving, so this is very interesting.
Hey greetings from London , I just stumbled across your channel I am seriously considering moving to Ghana as my mother is returning to live .Thank you for sharing your story of moving back to Ghana .
I saw your comment under Maya’a video so of course I had to subscribe! Good luck with your new life in Ghana, I will make sure to watch all of your content bc I am interested in the diaspora moving back.
Please always avoid Accra, too expensive to live. There are other beautiful and quiet places to live in Ghana. Try the Cape coast, Volta Region, Eastern Region, Ashanti Region and others.❤️🇬🇭
New subscriber here! About 3 days into my research on where to move in Africa. Thank you for great content! Really leaning towards focusing on Ghana so far.

I refuse to retire before going back to Ghana. At the retirement age when you go back to Ghana you can’t even enjoy the fruits of your labor. I am going before I turn 40. That one koraa I have waited too long. Peace and harmony here I come.
Thanks a lot for sharing... I completely agree and can relate to the point about being realistic about what to expect when you move back and preparing practically for it.... I personally do not think it is such an illogical idea in the way you put it in the beginning of your video. Like you went on to describe, there are tradeoffs to being in either place... for one you may sacrifice convenience, for the other, wellness and peace of mind... either option has it's pros and cons... I don't really like the narrative of moving home being this big deal that doesn't make sense, because (and I'm glad you addressed this honestly) that being in the states really isn't "heaven/jollof"
Nowhere cool. I think people see as a big deal because the Western world is thought of as significantly better than ours. After you live there a while, you realize it is not any better.
Yeah the Accra area is a bit high cost but the other places like Kumasi and the other places is much better. I am happy to watch you because God willing i am moving back home soon i can’t wait.
Hey sis thank you so much for the video ! I’m planning to back to Cote D’ivoire in less than years on my own. I can’t rely on my family to stay and don’t have a place either. How much do you suggest to save first ? Do you think less than 2 years is too soon ? I’m thinking of getting a job while starting out my beauty business as well since I’ll have to do this on my own. Thank you once again love !
Hi Diamond, definitely save as much as you'll need to survive in a year. Let that year be a priming period where you adjust and find a footing for your business. Whatever is pushing you to go back home is a good thing. Just prepare as much as you can. No better time than now. Good luck on your journey girl.
I am planning on moving to Africa as well. I am from Georgia. I am retired, and ready to Go . What is the weather like there. I been to Ethiopia, South Africa Egypt, and Zimbabwe. Do they have cold weather there too, are is it year round hot weather. Sherry
Hi Sherry, its warm about 9 months out of the year. It doesn't get cold, like ever. However, we do get a rainy season for about 3 months out of the year. Its fairly nice.

I've lived in many regions in Ghana and truly the standard of living is extremely high in Ghana. Meanwhile the standard of living in other regions is extremely low, especially in the Northern region. Albeit, there's a lot of freedom and peace of mind in Ghana. That, I wouldn't trade it for anything else.😊
Let's just say i have heard nothing but terrible stories from female PhD students in this country. Mostly sexual harassment stories. No scholarship packages either. So I'd rather not.
Currently working as a general manager for my family's basic school and i also lecture at a public university. And trust me, neither are sustainable. The way to go is entrepreneurship. Hard knock industry but absolutely worth it in Ghana.
I have been here for a year and half now and have neither experienced nor heard of armed robbery. I suppose there are criminals everywhere on the planet but Ghana does not have an armed robbery problem. Not that i know of.
Unfortunately, i have heard nothing but horror stories about getting a PhD in this country. The supervisors use students for their own personal research, barely have time for them and some very ugly allegations about the system too. It is also neither free, subsidized or cheap. It really is a dilemma for me.
For vain reasons. I would want to get a good and timeless topic for my research and I'd rather its in another country, in a culture i am not familiar with.
I have come across many such PhDs from Finland to Eastern Europe but the language requirement always seems like a blockage plus i don't know that I'll get a topic I'm interested in from that region. I'll look into it though. Thanks.
