You can find them in the USA but usually they are in Asian markets. Mung bean sprouts are in the produce section of normal stores but don't seem to be popular. Very cheap usually like 2$ I love them :) crunchy low calorie
Thanks for the wonderful cooking video & recipe! Here in the US our Asian markets have "Bean Sprouts" . They are labelled in mine store as "Soy Bean Sprouts" in English. I also buy a tea looking pouch with kelp and anchovies to make an anchovy broth there. I will try this recipe next week. Take care!
Thanks for sharing this recipe. It looks delicious and I'm already craving it. I'm going to make it soon. Luckily, there are many people from Asia that live in the Netherlands and thanks to that, soy bean sprouts are very common now. Sold in every supermarket. And since the Korean cuisine is blooming and became very popular in the last years also Korean ingredients are available 👍🏽
I was thinking about the same thing lol How did everyone know it's soybean?? Because the translation I used said 'bean sprout' I didn't know it was soy bean in English haha
It's so much easier to find mungbean sprouts compared to soybean sprouts where I live. I've only seen soybean sprouts in a Asian market so far and it wasn't cheap. 😅 Saving this recipe for later lol
@@sanrio8058 I can see why! Making cooking videos in a language that isn't your first language can be somewhat challenging, especially if since this isn't a very common ingredient elsewhere. I learnt the difference between bean sprouts from Maangchi some time ago. She has a great website about the stuff she uses and where you could buy it or if you can substitute it somehow. 😊
Thank you so much! I made this soup once but had to make it with mung bean sprouts. I'm making a special trip to an Asian grocery store this week (I live in rural Maine, USA and there are not any Asian grocery stores near me) and I look forward to buying all of the ingredients to make your version of the soup 💖💜💖💜💖 Would you please type out (in Korean) the brand of condensed anchovy powder you buy please??
Here in America we eat both bean sprots and mung bean sprots, mostly by vegans and vegetarians. Their used both in healthy salads as well certain cooked dishes.
Quick Question I see you eat Rice at several sittings. In our country they say it’s not too good to eat, especially ppl that are diabetic. Do you cook the rice all the way or half way. The way Japan does?? Love your Videos 💯👏🎃👻😎
@ like in Korea and Japan the people eat white Rice at every meal except breakfast. Like rice is included for lunch and also for supper. I love rice but too much
First of all we cook the rice all the way. These days, people eat brown rice(unpolished rice) a lot because it's better for health. Like you said for example people with diabetes
I want to ask you some really stupid irrelevant questions. I asked them to chat gpt as well😂 1. Koreans.are known to slip on and off shoes; are your sneakers always loosely laced and not tightened? 2. Do Koreans sit and sleep on floor only when they have heated floors? Is your floor heatened? 3. Have you learned chinese charactersin highschool and how many are taught? Can you pronounce them in mandarin? 4. If you overslept and you have 10 minutes to eat breakfast and make lunch, what would you make? 5. Is there a book or tv show that you are greatful for you read/watch because it changed you? I hope you give me better answers then chat gpt. Ps. I am at work and very efficient on my lunch break😅
Thanks for the cooking video!

Im going to try that soup. First I will look for the ingredients, thanks for the video ❤

So the sprouts for this soup are soybean?
@@sanrio8058Yes, he meant to say you're supposed to use kongnamul and said "bean sprouts" but meant specifically soybean sprouts. Hope this helps!
@@violets-for-roses thanks!! Just posted how everyone is knowing it's soybeans cos I've watched it 4 times thought maybe I was having a stroke

So easy to sprout beans or seeds at home but may take several jars to get amount used here
I just found a place in the U.S. that sells soybeans for sprouting called "Laura Soybeans" in Iowa. I'm so happy 😊!
