- This Stihl is a 46mm bore cylinder not a 028 Super. It's a WoodBoss edition. I did the lower transfer, intake and exhaust port. New Caber rings as well.

Thats gonna be a runner when u get everything lined out good job
Thanks buddy, I really like it.
Definitely/probably needs new crankseals, when you port a saw all the little quirks and leaks all surface 10x what it was. Just about every 028 I have worked on has had bad seals. The outside of the seal will look good but the inner lip will be cracked all to pieces and be leaking like crazy. Shoot some brake clean on them while it’s idling and when it does it slows down, you know you got it.
Will do, thanks for watching friend!
Glad you said this, I have an 028 that's kinda wonky when I flip it one way then the other, other than I think it's pretty good
028. You got this. Keep at it my brother .!!!
Not done yet, I really like it.
@@NothingButChainsaws does it have the impulse threw the boot like the 025. My first problem was the boot, gasket and carb not lining up rite.
Good job! Glad to see it together!
Couldn't wait to get this little monster going!
Nice. You’re getting it.
Thanks for watching friend!
Much better! You'll get it. I'm beginning to see why the boy's dad was grinning when he said his son had set the 45 up just for me. OH yeah!
Lol, I'm starting to like stihl more!
@@NothingButChainsaws They're good saws to start with but after you tweak them they get plumb absurd!
@@NothingButChainsaws He had a blasted FARM BOSS there that was plumb spooky. 'Just stick it in the log as soon as you squeeze it' he said. I did and found out why about 1/2 a second later. He was lapping in and changing time with flywheels probably 40 years ago. and that's not counting port work.
@@NothingButChainsaws A long time ago my buddy that runs his own saw shop now told me about working for another guy that lapped flywheels on 5 horse Briggs running alcohol on go carts. That was before and when McYellow blew everybody away with their cart engines. He told me that was what was done to the 45. It took a long time for me to finally realize that 2 and 2 make 4. And that silly saw SCREAMED like that for probably 30 years or more but it only had Stihl or Husky oil and I was the ONLY one that ran it till the neighbor incident where it died. It still had the spark arrestor screen in the muffler! His boy worked at a big factory and brought home a BIG puller and the flywheel would not budge. My pal said the flywheel would bust before they turned loose. It sits in his shop to this day.
@@lewiemcneely9143 that's freaking sweet.
NBC, if you haven't already, put a new clutch or a set of new clutch springs on it, in addition to the crank seals...enjoying this build...
I'm in the process of replacing the seals.
Good job sawrus nice 👍
Thanks for watching friend!
Good little saw for what it’s size
I really like it, it's definitely a little monster!
Nice saw buddy. ❤️🌲❤️🌲❤️🌲
Thanks for watching friend, I really like it.
It runs good seals are never a bad idea. If u have a new 2 u saw!
Changed them out lol!
Where did you get the full wrap handle for the 028?
It's a 044, 046 fullwrap, no mode needed.
Where did you get the full wrap handle?
It's a 044/440 wrap.
Awesome, thanks
Still 20in Or a 25in?
20
Wouldn’t be a new build if it didn’t need some tweaking right.
Right, I thought I'd never get it.
Rubber intake tube common to leak making a lean condition..
Welcome to 028s...not a fan
Bud, not going to lie. I like these little saws.
@@NothingButChainsaws you can have them all
😂😂😂😂 nooo
