Excellent. You're doing a really great job with these videos. Ironically it's frequently difficult for someone who is an expert to put themselves in the shoes of a beginner and speak to the audience intelligently. Another user here leaving the Shaderlight camp and looking for a new ride. Vray looks really good.
I've been having such a bad time because I had no idea about anything with Vray and I have to do some renders, my first issue was the lighting hopefully I can apply this, exactly what I was looking for! Love your artist / narrator voice! thank you so much
OMG that's not only helpful it's supeerrr helpful. and I really really want to thank you as vray has never been easier watching your vids so thank you so much. your efforts are much appreciated
Thank you so much for your tutorial, you are a life saver! I've been cracking my head over lighting in Vray for my models for a long time. You explain everything so easily, and clearly, everything you need to know, straight up. How does interior lighting work, when you work with an imported model, made on another machine, which has internal artificial lighting? Do you have a tutorial about setting up artificial lights indoors, e.g. importing light settings, which were made on another computer? Thank you again!! :)
Hi Justin your tutorial is very good. In fact I downloaded some of it. I wish to ask you, do you have sketch up of interior of kitchen cabinets with step by step tutorial. Hopefully your doing well
I don't know if its just me, but I find it hard to understand the structure of your channel in the sense that which tutorial comes after the other. But your videos themselves are very easy to understand and grasp. Love your work and thank you for helping to be better at my work. By the way learning sketchup much much faster than I thought I could.
Best bet is to look for playlists by topic. UA-cam is a lot of things, but it's a bit limited when it comes to organizing large amounts of content other than just by putting playlists together
Your tutorials are very clear and easy to follow! Although I am having a slight problem with my sun orientation inside Vray. Its not synchronized with my sketchup sun even when I change the daytime. In fact, its not even moving at all.
Make sure to sub to my rendering channel as well for more Vray stuff - ua-cam.com/users/therenderingessentials - currently focusing a bit more on Unreal Engine, but I'm sure I'll get back to Vray eventually - thanks!
TheSketchUpEssentials i cannot produce an interactive render..it says " progressive render finished : specific noise level reached" snd shows up a blank black screen..help me fix this please
thank you for the video, your tutorial videos are very very useful and not confusing. I wonder if you you could use the "portal light" setting to get a result you want.
Really Really great tutorial ! Thanks Justin , one more thing I confuse how come the final rendering image always appear some noise especially some shadow places... Any setting can figure out this ? or just can use photoshop to deal with it?
In older versions of Vray, there was an option called Secondary Bouces and it allowed you to make the light bounce more times of the surfaces and basically get more light into the space. In Vray 3.4 i can't seam to find the right lightig balance. Yesterday i was working with a 4m*5m with a 3m window. The brightness was blown out at the windows and the rest of the interior was dim. I want to render all white walls and still be able to see the exterior. It should be possible, damn it. But how? 🤔
Just subscribed since it was helpful and an easy pace. I would like to have seen the addition of one or two interior lights and the interaction with the other lights, but I know that can be a whole other video. Thanks
Thank you! Make sure to check out my new rendering channel over at ua-cam.com/users/therenderingessentials - that's where my new rendering tutorials will be uploaded - thanks!
justin . you are an amazing guide. quick questions. when using a rectangle light, do we turn off the Sun ? How does turning off Global illumination help a rendering ? TIA mate.
Hey I am having issue with the sunlight rendering , the windows don't let the sunlight penetrate through and the shadows are not seen at all , how do I fix this
Hi, when I'm using rectangle light I am getting out line of light, not getting plane surface of light, and also not getting light in rendering. Please help me. I am using v ray 4.20.03
Hi Justin. Great job with the tutorials. I would be interested in seeing a tutorial focusing on the different lights in Vray for SketchUp and the ideal scenario one would use each one of them in interior renders and a separate tutorial for dome lights and exterior renders.
Hey bro! You render with rectangle lights in video you called daylight rendering! So as i see, there's no way to make interior render only with skylight... or it is?
Yep - I'm going to have to study that process a bit further - I got some weird results when working with light portals, but I'm pretty sure my settings weren't quite right. I can add IES lights to the list - make sure to check out my rendering channel - ua-cam.com/users/therenderingessentials - that's where my future rendering tutorials will be - thanks!
thanks Justin, but my question is if I can increase the exposure then why should I insert the rectangle lights and switch them to invisible, isn't that just extra work for no reason?
YES YOU'RE HELPING ME SO MUCH, THANK YOU 🙏🏻🙏🏻, But my another problem is my laptop is too lagy, when I'm click interactive render but it take so much time haha
I was just noticing how there was definitely some extra light on the right-hand ceiling portion (the inclined roof), (hard to describe without screenshot), it looked like it was probably vertically in-line with the tables on the floor below. Do you see it? And do you think it might be... light bouncing off the tops of the tables onto the ceiling above? (Originally mostly coming in from that Sketchup panel light (on top of the roof)
I think I see what you're talking about - above the windows. I'm assuming that's light bouncing off the tables like you said. I wonder if you couldn't place another rectangle light in the scene facing that direction to even out the shadows (Similar to what Minh does in this video - ua-cam.com/video/y21M9bB7Zfc/v-deo.html)?
Justin you are amazing...i always think of Mark Zuck whenever i see you. Do you have more detailed vray render from start to finish with like more realistic. i never get realistic renders with vray. can you make like small model but detailed like ex (leather, lighting, glass, counter top. small fine details, reflection of a SS jar) thank you
We'll see - most of my new rendering tutorials are going over on my rendering channel - ua-cam.com/users/therenderingessentials - make sure to sub over there as well!
how about denoiser ? you can switch it on in the vray settings, rendering elements. Hope it is what you mean. Watch a video how to use it/ where you can find it ( vray denoiser setting) . :)
hey J, can you just explain why the vray square light cast shadow on the ground plane even you choose to turn the square light panel invisiable? thanks!
The shadow on the ground plane is coming from the table (that's what you mean, right?). All turning the light panel off does is makes it so the panel itself doesn't cast shadows, but it still creates light. Does that make sense?
yeah, so if you delete the table you still see the shadow from that square light on the ground even you have that square light on invisible, that is my issue. thanks J!
You said in the video you'd link the video about the glass but you I guess you forgot. If you could please make a video of interior lighting with tinted glass windows (either green shade or blue) that would be REALLY HELPFUL. Kindly help a fellow Vray user out!
4:38 - Exposure Value
6:23 - Color Clamping
6:50 - Lights Tab
8:43 - Sun Size Multiplier
9:35 - Vray Rectangle Light
How you get inside the box?
Since I follow your tutorials I am making giant steps in SketchUp and V-Ray...thank you very much!

You're the only one who made my render lighting work. Thank you a million times!
:)
Super helpful! I’ve been struggling to understand the blown out windows
OMG that's not only helpful it's supeerrr helpful. and I really really want to thank you as vray has never been easier watching your vids so thank you so much. your efforts are much appreciated
Awesome - glad you liked it!
Justin, you're a great teacher. Would love a combo Vray/Sketchup tutorial series. Even if there was a additional cost...
May do some more Vray stuff on my rendering channel here eventually - ua-cam.com/users/therenderingessentials

Thank you for this!!
You’re such a good teacher, I’ve learned everything on sketchup thanks to you!
Glad I've been able to help!
Very helpful in getting started with lighting in V-Ray for SketchUp.
Thank you very much for every videos you published, all of them are helpful information and so informative for everybody who works with sketchup+vray.
u r just amazing
I love you bro xD
This guy is awesome with these vids.

@@Thesketchupessentials Thanks for the quick response. Love your work. Glued to your channel for now. :)
Fantastic. You're videos should come in V-ray box. Didn't realize how to ID the rectangular light's front from back.
Really glad it helped!
Your tutorials are very clear and easy to follow! Although I am having a slight problem with my sun orientation inside Vray. Its not synchronized with my sketchup sun even when I change the daytime. In fact, its not even moving at all.
Hi, Sir. Need a help, how to make the light show only line and arrow while working in the viewport. And not just the rectangular shapes
Fantastic teaching, thank you!
I really enjoy your videos, they're awesome!
I would love to see more Vray tutorials please!

I really love to hear your intro
The tone of your voice hahaha
Very useful, thanks. I always got stuck while doing the lighting and material settings
Glad it helped!
Hi if I want to make the edge line of the room not too dark what i should change? thanks
I don't understand the question
@@Thesketchupessentials between the ceiling and wall there is shown such like a dark shadow how to reduce darkness of that shadow
Thank you it’s really good and fun
Thank you very much Justin - would you please added more about V Ray
Make sure to check out my rendering channel - ua-cam.com/users/therenderingessentials - thanks!
its actually so helpful, now i must watch your all videos now
thank you buddy .....
Lol - lemme know when you get through all 700+ ;p
You are a life saver
Thanks you so much you bring me the light 💡

Thanks! This tutorial is very helpful for me. Two thumbs up!
Cool - glad it helped!

oops just found the latter :) great job.... but still interested in interior lighting scenarios
scrap that...you are the best...will look next time before asking...again great job
Lol - glad you found what you needed - I know I have a lot of videos to sort through... :)
very nice tutorial.....my only comment is that the light and shadow of sun will always be sharp. that is in reality. thank you!
That's not an accurate statement - the sharpness of the shadows created by the sun is dictated by the size of the sun you set in your sunlight setting
Hey bro! You render with rectangle lights in video you called daylight rendering! So as i see, there's no way to make interior render only with skylight... or it is?

Great tutorial! Greetings from Argentina, Justin!

Many thanks
Hi! It would be interesting if you shot a video about how to deal with noise in vray!!!
Turn the volume down 😂 Sorry, couldn't resist. I'll think about this - thanks!
SUUUPER HELPFUL! THANK YOU SO MUCH! you're a great tutor! :)

Great tutorial. Thanks Justin!

SOOO helpful! Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Very good explanation, thanks. The ractangle lights could be set up as portals to transport day light. Can you make a tut with V-ray IES lights.
Yep - I'm going to have to study that process a bit further - I got some weird results when working with light portals, but I'm pretty sure my settings weren't quite right. thanks Justin, but my question is if I can increase the exposure then why should I insert the rectangle lights and switch them to invisible, isn't that just extra work for no reason?
If you just crank up the exposure without adding light sources, you will create a very bright, washed out looking render
Why are your shadows so soft? I canno find this seting anywhere ;-;
Great video!
very helpful thx
YES YOU'RE HELPING ME SO MUCH, THANK YOU 🙏🏻🙏🏻, But my another problem is my laptop is too lagy, when I'm click interactive render but it take so much time haha
You can adjust the exposure and the intensity of the light you talked about in the window after render is finished.
You can, but that's post production. Rather change it for the actual render and fine-tune it in the VFB.
thanks master Justin. its really helpful.
Thanks for watching!
very helpful !! thanks !!
Glad you liked it!
Helpful 😌👍
Thanks u, it so helpful
Hi tq for the tutorial. Can you make a simple interior living room scene? Have tv cabinet, coffee table couch and so on. Render it using vrayy

beautiful works...
