Hmmm good question. Depends on what you mean by progressive. Can you elaborate? I’m not sure about young retires specifically. Are you looking for a place to retire?
@@livinginidaho Thank you for your reply! Yes I am looking to retire. 62. Active. Will likely retire next mo, but need to sort through my folks home (they have passed) so once that's done, I will need to either fix it up & stay, or sell it & move. By "progressive," I mean the crazy lefty stuff I see in CA. Grew up here, it has been a long, slow decline & state elections are not honest, IMO. So I don't see it changing. Soft on crime, etc., the insane policies that encourage homelessness, drug use & crime to go on unchecked. I do not feel safe here. ID seems more in step w/ me. I am a live as let live, neighborly kind of gal. Conservative in values but don't push my way onto others.
@@livinginidaho That solves the drinking water, but the shower and other faucets spew out this smelly water too. I realize a person can install water filtering systems to solve these issues, but I'm curious as to why it occurs in the first place. You mentioned the well, but why isn't that issue solved in Garden City? I've not noticed this problem in other Idaho cities.
Are there any recommendations for any younger renters? With how things are I can’t buy a home anytime soon, but I really want to get out of Olympia. Our bills are so high that we can’t consider buying a home. We are taking on debts just to get by. I can’t stand this kind of living! We NEED to get out within the next 2 years.
@@livinginidahoI’m already working 55 to 70 hours a week bringing in about 55k a year and my girlfriend is working 40 to 50 hours a week. I honestly don’t know what to do. Every bill just keeps going up. Our rent went from $1,150 a month to $2,150 a month in a year and a half. I’ve been driving great and haven’t gotten a ticket or anything yet my car and renters insurance just doubled on me. Does Idaho have a rent cap? Washington renters can increase the monthly as much as they like and as often as they like. It’s eaten my savings. It’s quickly becoming California and I just moved from there to avoid this shit! Sorry not to go off but damn Idaho seems like heaven. F Washington
@@leviblackwood3258I live in Seattle and I’m in the same boat at the moment. I know a lot of people that rent in Boise, family and old friends, and they pay anywhere from $1,100 - $1,500 for a 1 bedroom, and most of them live downtown. There are many house rental options but that’s not something I’m necessarily familiar with. Above all, Boise is more affordable than Seattle, by every measure including housing. I grew up in Idaho and can’t wait to go back, if you love nature and walking and driving and absorbing a clean, managed and awesome community based city, Boise is a hit
This is such a great video. You guys nailed it. Spencer gets bonus points for the lobby bar at the Riverside. 😂
Love your videos! Wish I had discovered you before I started working with another agent. You're scouting trips sound amazing.
HAPPY SATURDAY CRAIG, LOVE YOUR VIDEOS ❤
Johnny, thanks for letting me know. Thanks for watching
Good info. Never new there where so many options in Garden City
It’s a very unique city with a lot of variety.
Great video. Thank you. Any young-ish retires here? Does it lean more "progressive" or is it still conservative?

I believe progressive is a polite word for socialist.

It's barely a city... It's practically still just boise. And Boise is progressive city.

Looks descent but what about the stinky tap water that occurs from April to October every year? It smell like latex.

I was born and raised here in Idaho and so many call garden city Garden shitty for good reason
That sounds about right... it has come a long way.

I don’t know your situation but I’d recommend finding a way to increase your income.

Idaho rents are high. Arkansas is affordable.

It's time tested nickname is Garbage City if that helps.
Have you BEEN to Garden City? Hip? Its homeless central with trailer parks and drug dealers on every other corner? Who are you trying to sell to??
I have been there… you see me in the video in Garden City :)
But then you're in Garden City.
You mean Garbage City??
Fudge... so much talking, so little video... need to find a better one...
Idaho is a dump.
Thanks for the deep insight TJ
It's actually nice.
