Not only does he know his content extremely well but his delivery is spot on, ... a finely tuned balance between accurate information and entertaining performance. This cat is the "Rick Beato" of the his genre. Well done as I look forward to your next video!

I bought one of these 8 months ago predominantly as a monitor speaker on stage and have been very satisfied every time on stage. Clean, clear and plenty of give. I also use it as a speaker at home and plug my phone in directly and super happy with it's performance. Going to get another I reckon.

Haha, I have headrush FRFR108 and it looks identical at any detail. Also specs are mostly the same. ALTO TS308 is also almost identical. One is for drums one for guitar and another for vocals/music. It looks like some chineese company is just doing some general purpose speakers and everybody puts its labels and calls it "oo it is specialized for drums" :D

I went to a shop to check out an electronic kit. (still a total beginner with next week my first lesson). I plan to play it mainly with headphones, but in the shop they had it setup with a single speaker. Based on the position (on the righ), it was very weird as if you hit something on the left, you hear it on the right. Wouldn't it make more sense to always have 2 speakers? I plan to have speakers besides of playing with headphones as it might be nice once and a while.

  • @jmackinjersey1

Question, do you really need two?
Also, is there a difference between a monitor and an amplifier? I typically see monitors with lower wattage, like 20/25/50 etc, and amplifiers advertised in the 1200, 1500, 2000 etc.

    • @imthatguyhere
      @imthatguyhere 2 роки тому +1

A bit late but you are likely seeing RMS with the monitors, and peak wattage with the amps. RMS is more important.

Bought mine yesterday and I have a lil problem... When striking toms (for example the United Heavy kit in Addictive Drums 3) the 8 inch woofer is absolutely sweating and making uncanny sounds and the port is chuffing. The static noise when nothing is plugged in is also apparent, is that normal?

  • @bogotta

I nearly went down that route as wanted satellite speakers and a sub. I chose studio 2-way active monitors with 5 1/4” woofers. Did the job for me but do know that a PC speaker set up can be good also for a small room.

Question about the SPD one you tried a few years back but do you know how to configure it into a V drum? I’m new to the whole technological part of adding triggers and stuff. But when I attach the SPD: One percussion to my TD-17KVX module it only registers as a single pad and I’m not able to change the sound from the SPD: One itself with the dials.

  • @boynamedlen

I've been looking into drum amps/pa speakers for a while now and can't seem to make an informed decision. I play mostly with headphones but sometimes I want to play out loud. The main contender right now is a JBL Eon 612 or 615 (would make for a killer bluetooth speaker as a bonus), but I worry that it would be way too loud for home use. I just need it for practice, not for the stage or big performances.
I've been suggested to get a pair of studio monitors because they're much more directional and thus much less likely to upset the neighbors. What are your thoughts on this?

you would use an instrument cable with 1/4 inch male TS jacks on each end. Plug one end into one of the 1/4 inch inputs on the back on the amp and plug the other end into the left (mono) output on the back of the drum module.

I’m thinking of either buying the Simmons DA2108 or the Alesis strike amp 8. I’m leaning more towards the Simmons amp because of the Bluetooth feature and eq controls. But im not sure if the alesis would be better because it has more of watts. I’m not looking for a very loud amp, just one that that sounds good and has nice controls.

if we heard it, it wouldn't do any good. Because we aren't there in real life, we would be hearing what the microphone would be hearing, so there is no point because a microphone is no where as good as the human ear, and it wouldn't do the speaker justice.

My guess is that you could. But, a drum amp would not only need to provide deep bass, but also highs for cymbals. I’m no expert, but I think you’d be wasting some of the features like never using higher frequencies.

It's just the power supply. Speaker itself is rated 800w continuous, almost all of them are these days. You wanna avoid watts and look into dB ratings, where the amp 12 is around 130db(super loud). The 2000w is basically just that much more headroom.
