As a newbie, been taking online lessons and now hitting open chords and atrumming. Felt the need to understand chords more. I purchased a really good guitar music theory book. Fantastic breakdown of the creation of chords (triads) from scales. Just getting to Sus Chords and substituting other notes. Your video is right on time. My 1 year goal is to be able to play chords/rhythm and improvise over the top. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for sharing how we can transformed our rhythm guitar playing into the next level. Going back to music theory really does helps us to play more in a creative manner by learning the music notes in different chord voicings [ e.g. R + 3 +5 + etc ... ]. By learning chord melody playing in harmony together, it helps us to improvise your guitar playing techniques all over the guitar fretboard. i agree learning triad shapes does gives you a better sound option over playing full chord especially when you are playing with other musicians. I can see guitar fingerstyle playing techniques is getting more attention in today You tube videos.
I’m Doug from Denver… Just subscribed. I have been stuck at about mid-range intermediate for years, looking forward to moving up to higher level intermediate, perhaps you can whip into shape with some grade Lessons! Thank you! 🎸
yk how hendrix does his thumb thing and loads of others do it, is it needed to play embellishments for chords n stuff? cus my thumb kinda has like genetic mutation or sum where it basically looks like a bent pipe and is slightly smaller than my right hands, cant bend it forward either really. dunno if i can do the thumb over the neck sorta thing
you don't need the thumb mate, it's good for playing the root of the chord and then play other stuff on top, but you can do that with any finger really.
@@British69420 listen to django reinhard, he had his left hand injured in a fire, and he played incredible music with two functional fingers. also tony iommi of black sabbath, he's missing some fingertips. I'm sure there's others
Paraphrasing a line from an old song, “Check out Guitar George, he knows all about the chords!”
Seeing the connection of 3NPS and the triads. 🥳
Great video! Nice to see someone explain and demonstrate a concept in it's entirety.
A morning cuppa and drop of theory before work. Cheers :)
Woww, this kind of content that too for free🥳🥳, really appreciate it, helped me a lot🤩🤩
This really kinda helped my chord play! I just made a really nice little 216 in Am and it sounded great 👍 thanks

I believe in feel, jazzing it up and if it sounds good. Also improvising chords, if it's comfortable to actually play.
Awesome video have a great day ❤😊

I have picked up a lot of good stuff from you thanks 👍
I am so much the opposite. I like riffs the most. My favorite guitarists are riff lords first, and some of them are also good at leads
Thank You...❤
This is gold

English Finesse vs American Rock.
I hate lessons that involve using the thumb.
Pretty ballsy playing an Eagles song on a video… DEMONETIZED! ;)
I like to live life on the edge lol
