Oh man, this is brilliant, thank you! You've just rocked my world. And now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some woodshedding to do. Cheers!

Great stuff. It's basically smooth voice leading but for whole scales/modes.

Great advice! Pretty sure the Bb chord in the second to last measure is dominant, so you may have to adjust the dorian/lydian strategy in that spot (or not haha).

Hey, thanks for watching. Regarding the penultimate chord, I spent some time before recording wondering how I was going to go about analysing it.
The chord voicings Tyner places (C/Bb) along with the melody definitely imply a Lydian Dominant sound. Henderson also basically always plays that chord as a dominant as well. Funnily enough, Tyner's solo seems to jump around, where he often just goes for the straight lydian sound.
It's definitely more often a Dominant sound, though, and so following the advice it'd probably be best to change that chord to a G Dorian b2.
It's a shame because I feel like the voicing is intentionally vague to allow for different interpretations of the tonality. I have an idea for a series to really dig into the nuances of these tunes, pointing out things like the voicings and hits-just need to find time to film it!

If you want to give lessons/be a teacher and have us click you again you need to slow your talk, theories, explanations, and picking,
    WAY way d o w n !!!
Maybe some people out there grasp your rap because THEY happen to be doing/approaching it the same as you..But, what is the potential number of people out here on the old information highway who are NOT in your camp; your concept of playing ? S L O W it down, man !! Stop assuming we're all hip to it, daddy'o. I had to shut it down at 5:38.

Dude... if you want beginner lessons... go somewhere else.... plenty of videos out there. But please don't interrupt this incredible and valuable lesson to slow it down.

Moron, what are you on about?
There is a playback speed option in every UA-cam video. You can also play the video again, or rewind it as many times as you wish....
