Hey Mattie Thank you so much for watching and for your encouragement. You are so right. I love the fact that this house and garden was so unloved. All it needed was someone to cut on the hard work and care for it. Now it is blooming with flowers, freshly cut lawn and home grown vegetables for us to enjoy. Are you doing a similar project?
Absolutely 😁 Nice to be nice as the saying goes. People will be drawn to you if you extend kindness and friendship. I love to help others and others help us too 🙏 What a blessing it is ✨
Hey Lisa You are not wrong there 😂 especially when you have a shoestring budget. We had to think creatively about how to get rid of the rubbing. We got there in the end thank God 🙏🏾🎉 What's your gardening experience ☺️
Hi Marcia Thanks for watching 😊 Lovely name by the way. You share the same name as my extraordinary mom Life is short so we better have fun and enjoy it like kids.
Hey Olivia 😂 Thanks for the compliment 😊 To be honest I don't think we realized just what a mammoth job we started. By the time we started there was no turning back as we had no money to pay someone to do it 😅 All things are possible with a little belief 🙏🏾🎉 Now we are loving the space. Especially the kids. What's your gardening experience?
Hey Ueli Thank you so much. Blessings to you too ☺️ Basel, that's a first for me 😀 Hope you are well. What's your gardening experience. Are you a DIY-er?
Hey Beefy Aww, thanks a lot. I'm glad we made you smile. That is what we wish for everyone, to be happy and smile ☺️ God knows this world has a lot to be sad about 😌 Thanks for watching What's your gardening experience?
@@BeefyTV fair enough 😅 I just got home from work and I'm going to mow the lawn and trim my bush at the front of the house ☺️ It's never ending but it brings me joy to see it all looking neat and tidy. I have a shed, greenhouse and front fence to do next 😅
Hello Thank you so much. It's been a long time coming after years of living in a flat 😅 I think we will have to use the garden parasol this week as we finally have some hot weather 🎉🎉🎉
Hi Linda!. Thank you so much for your compliment. We really appreciate it. Just a bit of inspiration for those who are in a similar situation to us. We know what it's like when you've just bought a house and have very little money to do a garden project. He thought why not do it ourselves and it is one of the best decision we've made since buying this house. Are you doing something similar at the moment? What's your garden in journey? I'm writing this from our garden right now. Garden jobs never end by the way lol ❤️
Welcome to my world 😂 bought a jungle property. Just finished the house refurb and take down every tree. Now I'm up to do the make-up for the rear garden. What a challenge! But at the very end, makes you feel sooooo good.
Hey Bogdan That sounds amazing 🤩 I hope it will all go well. You are so right though. The satisfaction you get from doing yourself is second to none. I'm literally here in our garden now doing some seed sowing in our new Greenhouse. It's nice and warm in here while it's chilly and windy outside 😅. Let me know how you get on 👍🏾
Hi Pammie Thank you so much ☺️ It was 2 years to the day yesterday since she passed away. Her legacy lives on through us 🙏🏾🎉 Her flowers are in the garden and bloom every year 🌺🌹 A constant remind of what she has done for us ☺️
I love seeing this, when people put in the elbow grease and turn chaos into harmony. I’m at the start of that process myself with my own garden, so videos like these act as an inspiration. Great job guys.
Hey Alba Thank you so much for checking it out. I'm glad you have been inspired and motivated. Yes you are so right. It's nice to see others doing things like this. We did it because we didn't have the money to pay a professional. But now i know I would do it again with all the skills I've learnt. Wow, I hope your project goes well. I would love to see some before and after photos. Perhaps message me on Instagram or Facebook. @themalcolms
WOW. It's amazing what you achieved for just £1000. Just goes to show you how much you pay for labour. Although your costs were hugely reduced thanks to your very generous neighbour ❤. Some very creative solutions to the rubble and the path. And a very satisfying result! Mrs M and Ma M both loving the patio 😊😊. Happy days and a perfect haven for you and your family to enjoy for years and years.
Thank you so much! Really appreciate it. Every time I think back on what we were able to achieve my mind is just blown. This looks like something you would have seen on TV. Many million years did. I think we would be able to create such a beautiful garden from something so derelict. My neighbour was super helpful until this day. We are still great friends. My brother was also able to help me out. From my experience. Planning goes a long way as well as thinking creatively to save money. I still use this philosophy even today in order to save money and have a decent quality of life on a budget 👌🏽😉
You worked hard to get there, but you got there in the end, that probably saved you a lot of money. You did a great job. Now relax and enjoy it. You earned it👍😊
Fantastic job! Our garden was exactly in the same condition. Previous residents neglected a half of it and by the time we moved in, it was already taken over by Mather nature so we had a lot work to do like you. There was even no fence at the back of the garden. We don’t have a lawn yet. We are in the process of removing waste from the soil but I managed already to plant some veggies crops and strawberries and raspberries and some roses and other plants. I am so grateful that you posted your work on UA-cam. It gives me a hope that we will at some point finish our project too and it will look like our private haven. Once again, wonderful job. And 👏👏👏 to your mama for encouraging you to purchase this house and do garden makeover.
Hi Kasia Your message is so lovely. So glad to hear your story. I'm glad our video has been encouraging. Honestly we almost didn't buy this quirky old cottage but we are blessed with a vision so we took the leap of faith. Boy I'm so glad we did. Well done to you on doing it yourself. We are now harvesting so much from our garden. I just uploaded a video going live at 4pm. When I look back at the video and see where we are coming from it's so inspiring. Keep me posted on how you are getting on and I'm here if you need any tips 💖
Hey UserX Thanks a lot. We are so happy and a little proud of what we managed to do ☺️ Yes I now love a hard graft, money is tight for us as I'm sure the same for others so what ever we can do to save money and enhance quality of life ☺️. What's your DIY experience?
Your mum knew your capabilities. Knew how much better a deal you could get w a writeoff back garden! You did a great deal of very hard work, excellent design + vision and increased the value of your property (in America, would have been $50K increase in valuation). Well done!!
🥹 I don't always get emotional when I hear about my late mum but you messaged really resonates with me 💝 She was a visionary and you are so right, she knew we could do it. Now when I look at our beautiful space where we play, relax and grow our organic vegetables I am just so grateful for all she did to make this possible 🙏🕊️ The improvements certainly added value to the property. It's been 4 years and I'm sure we are around 100k value increase with all the work we've done on the hose which included a new boiler, repairs to the roof and a new kitchen. We are so blessed 🙏 Are you doing a similar project? Where in America are you from? 😊
After seeing all your hard work pay off lit a fire under me to proceed with my own backyard. It's so bare with just dirt and twice the size of yours. I thought any project would be overwhelming because I'm on a budget but you gave me some ideas so whichever way I go, I will come back with a report. Good job!
Wow Thank you Camille It means a lot to know that you have been inspired. Well you've seen what we've done on a shoestring budget so it is definitely possible. If you need any tips, feel free to reach out. Just be patient and plan your actions as best as possible so that you don't end up doing the same thing twice. Be sure to look after your back and just know that Rome wasn't built in a day. It's been years later and only this year have I built a greenhouse which was salvaged from facebook marketplace and a shed to store our tools and garden items. Please keep in touch and let me know how you get on 😊
Incredible deformation you done there …little by little y’all got it done !😅 A beautiful Backyard to relax & hang out …fantastic!! All the hard Work paid , off !👍🏻
Hey Sof Thank you so much. We really worked hard on this one. It's so lovely to have a garden and it's comforting to know that it was done by our own hands is just so rewarding. What's your gardening experience ☺️
Wow!! 😮 You definitely do more than grow tomatoes and pumpkins! You landscaped a garden!! That was a serious amount of work. It's stunning and fits your beautiful family. Well done, Jane
Aww Bless you 😊 You wouldn't believe this was our first project. We lived in a flat in London for years. Never even had a garden 😆 We definitely took a leap of faith with this house and garden. And now we are so happy with the outcome. I found that I love landscaping and perhaps I would make it a career in another life.
Hi Thomas Thank you so much. We love our garden and it's even more enjoyable because we renovated it. It's just heavenly. Family means everything and we are really trying to spread some joy and positivity in the dark world. Are you doing your garden project?
I'm totally gobsmacked!! Our garden was a really shocker and now it's our own little paradise. It goes to show that with determination, persistence and alot of elbow grease you can make your dream a reality. Kenroy, Thank you for seeing the vision even when I totally doubted. Our mum was the first person to start the hard work I remember it like yesterday, April 2019. And since then you never looked back! Love you! I remember our favourite Bible verse at the time of doing the work was Proverbs 14:23 All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
Absolutely amazing. It’s stunning. I was blown away by the garden transformation but then I was blown away by your beautiful family. I really hope you’re proud of all your hard work. It really is stunning. Thank You for sharing. Much love to you and your family. xxx
Aww thank you We are beyond proud. Even to this day we still can't believe what we have been able to achieve. We are underway now with growing our own veg as it's the growing season. We have tons of videos following on from this one as we share our journey in the hopes of inspiring others. Are you renovating your garden too?
@@TheMalcolms7 Hiiii, I’m so happy to hear from you. Sadly our garden is in a very sorry state. We hired someone last year and let’s just say we’ve been left with something worse than when he started. Unfortunately, my husband to be was diagnosed with cancer and two days later my Dad was also diagnosed, so the garden hasn’t been a priority. I had major surgery five weeks ago and I’m hoping to get the all clear soon from my surgeon and then I can make a start on the garden. It’s definitely a budget-job, I’m looking for things on eBay or Facebook marketplace and even freecycle. I’m very excited to watch more of your videos. I did try and grow some tomatoes last year… sadly I believed someone when they said to remove the flowers as they were “weeds.”.. suffice to say that we didn’t have tomatoes. 😂 I know better now. 😂 xxx
Bless you 💞 🙏🏾 Thank you for sharing. I'm so sorry to hear how difficult things have been for your family. I hope you have a speedy recovery 🙏🏾 Yes Facebook and Freecycle are my favourite pass time and there is nothing wrong with building a life on a budget. The frugal lifestyle is amazing. Well if you need any tips please don't hesitate to get in touch with us. It's nice to share and grow with the people we meet here online. After all we are not just robots but we are living, breathing and feeling human beings looking to live a meaningful life 🥰💞
This is beautiful. A lot of hard work but everytime you go into your yard you will feel an immense pleasure in the result. Kudos to a generous neighbour. A good neighbour is one of life's unexpected bonuses. Enjoy your garden parties
Hey Denise Thanks a million You are so right ☺️ I've been away for 2 weeks and coming back to the garden is just amazing 🎉 It's grown since I made this video. I reckon I will do a update as a lot has changed. I still being us immense Joy. What's your gardening experience? Are you doing up your garden?
Wow That's lovely to hear. That's the best way to go 👍🏾 The money you save and the value that is added is priceless. We are just waiting for the sun to finally arrive 😅
A garden space is a Labor Of Love and Takes Years To Get The End Result . Your Garden is absolutely Beautiful. And for your first go at landscaping and clearing land is impressive. DIY certainly saves money. I hope you are enjoying your new garden. Love the video.
Hi Daisy May. Aww thank you so much for your lovely comment ☺️ I agree with you wholeheartedly. The garden is evolving year by year. We have projects on the agenda in upcoming diy projects. Shed and greenhouse 😅 when we get our home renovation project finished. Till then we are loving the garden, our girls adore it ❤️ What's your gardening experience?
Thank you so much. I'm humbled by your kind words. I honestly don't know how we were able to do it. Only God could have helped us. We had no experience whatsoever. We did have a lot of passion and detention and here we are today. Are you doing a similar project? What's your gardening experience? ☺️
Unbelievable !! Amazing job 👏👏. Your neighbours must love u guys, getting rid of that gigantic eye sore of a yard it was. Alot of blood sweat n tears I'm sure , but wow, ever worth it !!! I personally would have saved those massive tree stumps and made some sort of a stole situation for around a fire pit area or something like that. But Im a person who loooves tree stumps for some reason, maybe not for everyone, lol. Beautiful yard.
Hi Erin Thank you so much 😊 Yes indeed, it was a lot of hard work but man was it worth it 🙏🏾🎉 The stomps would have made a great project but I had limited time and resources to make it happen. I didn't save just one which is used as a flower bed border and a seat At the time I just needed them gone so that we could do the fences. We have had a lot of gratitude and compliments from the neighbours 😅 What's your gardening experience?
@@TheMalcolms7 oh I tottally understand. We have been working on our yard for the last couple years now, just got into the gardening and I absolutely love it. So peaceful, and seeing the growth makes the kids very excited. We put in a 2 tear deck with flower beds on the sides and it's made all the difference in the world. We only had a small yard to work with and it really wasn't a well functioning yard , it was lumpy and full of big holes so we put a lower type deck over and it's been wonderful. Every year we do a little more . Work in progress . We got a bunch of lights FRM the doller store and it really is cozy and beautiful at night. Our own oasis , NXT year a veggie garden in the frnt. . Bless u and ur family .
@@erinjoy5625 wow, that sounds perfect ☺️ Yes it's lovely to do it yourself and watch it grow and change to match your style. I just picked the girls up from school and we came home and went straight to the garden without even going into the house 😅 I just needed 10 minutes to relax before starting the evening routine. It's beautiful in the garden at the moment. Gardening is amazing, we will pick some strawberries for the girls to have for their desert ☺️ They love it. I've got a greenhouse project in the works I did a shed earlier in the year. I still need to edit that video and upload it.
Thank you so much. There is a lot in this world to be sad about. We believe it's up to us to make our life a little more joyous 🙏🏾☺️ I find myself helping others with their gardens so that they can find a little happy place too ☺️ Spreading the love eh 👍🏾
Hi Sally Thank you so much. This garden still surprises us even today. It goes to show what you can do when you have a vision 😄 Now it's filled with vegetables as it's the growing season. Yes that dance is legendary in our household 😂 Are you doing a similar project?
Hi Fryeda Thank you so much We are so thrilled to have done all this work and we are now enjoying our little bit of paradise 🥰 Joy and blessings to you too 👍🏾
Hi Mark Thanks a lot 👍🏾 We are so overjoyed with all that we have accomplished. We spend a lot of time in our garden and it brings us Joy Now we are gearing up to grow vegetables for the growing season. Are you renovating your garden? 🏡
Thank you 😊 It's amazing what you can accomplish with a vision and determination. We almost didn't buy this house because of the state of the garden and a rite of passage that our neighbors have through our property but 5 years on We are so glad we did.
Thank you so much. Yes, I can't believe we did all that either 😅 The funniest thing is that I actually loved it. That kicked started my passion for gardening that I didn't even know I had. I'm even doing people's gardens now. This summer I made several hundreds of pounds helping others with their gardening. Great way to add value to a property that needs some TLC as people often forget about outside the property. I am intrigued about what you will be doing in your garden 😲 You must keep us updated. Are you into gardening, what about your husband ☺️
@@TheMalcolms7 wow, that's amazing that you've actually discovered a skill out of doing it yourself!!! Amazing. He isn't willing to spend his energy trying to revive our garden and neither am I, lol. I wasn't going to document it as it's a small space, but now you've mentioned it, I may capture some footage.
@@TheWellnessAbbey that would be great. No pressure, I'm just being nosey as I love everything gardening 😅 Don't knock it, give it a go and get the children involved too. You may ignite a spark for the great outdoors 🤣
Hey Ingrid Thanks so much for watching. Indeed it was such hard work 😅 but man was it worth it. The garden is growing and changing year by year. I hope to do an update video perhaps next year when it's all recovered from the scorching 🥵 summer we've had in the UK. What's your gardening experience? ☺️
I am living in Austria and the hot summer killed my grass in certain parts of my garden, especially on the the slopes! But I never give up and you inspired my to dig out a few bushes and small trees. We keep in touch, if I succeed like you. All the best Ingrid
@@ingridzieger7512 wow That's amazing, year the heat heat has been crazy. This is the first year we have had burned grass and I think next year we will have to re-seed it in patches. I'm sure your garden will do well. So happy to know you got some inspiration from our video. I'm currently helping my friend with her garden right now 😀. We are putting in some wood bark/chip around her border. Autumn is here now so we are planning for next spring already 😅
Hi 👋🏾 Thank you so much for watching. We sure are enjoying it. It was worth all the hard work. It's almost spring time now and we have a few new projects to do in the garden. A shed and a greenhouse plus vegetable growing, Watch the space 😀
Aww Thank you so much Purple frog stitches (love that name) 🤩 It was incredibly hard work but it sure has paid off. I haven't gone pro however the skills I've learned has given me an additional stream of income through gardening 🙌🏽 Hope you have a great day ✨ Here's one of my latest clients. An elderly retired nurse. We have become best friends ☺️🤝 ua-cam.com/video/JJNqehSl-bI/v-deo.html
Hey The first Glad you were inspired ☺️ Yes, it's amazing what you can achieve even with a small space. Get inspired and do as much as you can to save money. The satisfaction you get when it's all done is just wonderful.
Those large tree trunks would had make great planter around the yard. I love recycling and repurposing for the garden. Job well done on a budget, love saving cost.
That’s what I was thinking. I would have made a stumpery out of the tree trunks, and planted ferns, and other woodland plants in a shady part of the garden. Well done to you all. I hope you enjoy many long summers in your beautiful garden.
@@jaijai5250 thank you so much. Yes in hindsight I could have reintegrated the stomps better. Novice at work eh 😅 Next time I will be better prepared. I have used one for a decorative finish on a flower bed. It's also a seat which is great.
Hey DStrick Thank you for the encouragement. It's hard work but as you saw it's well worth it. I wish you all the best. Make sure you take photos and videos of before and after. I would love to see the finished project. You can drop me a message on Instagram (themalcolms7) I just love taking something that needs work and making it better ☺️
Congratulations to you all on this transformation. Such a great deal of hard work and effort fir you but the results should make you very proud. I too love my garden and have worked hard to transform it from an unloved area to a mass of colour. But the work of creating a garden never stops. I hope you enjoy some well earned relaxation time in your lovely garden.
Hey Pam You summed it up nicely. We are so enjoying it. We are so proud of our achievement and we often get sheer disbelief by friends and neighbours when they see the before and after 😅 We have slowly added to it over the years and we hope to do a update video next year as we weren't able to do one this year. Autumn is nearly here and we've got pumpkins growing on every available surface 😅 Are you doing up your garden or have a DIY project?
Thank you so much ☺️ We certainly will enjoy it as the weather is starting to brighten up here in the UK. We have a kitchen renovation coming up next 🎉
Thank you so much. Yes we are so happy with the work. It really goes to show what is possible with hard work and determination. I would do it again. We've learned a lot Just waiting on the sun to show up 😅 We are doing more projects as we speak.
Hiya I'm glad your liked it ☺️ hopefully you will stick around as check out some more of our content 👍🏾 Our garden was hard work but it was so worth it 🙏🏾 What's your gardening experience?
Hi CAMB Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed it we will do a follow up video with some new additions. We really enjoyed the experience. It's our favourite place to be. Every year we add a bit more to it. What's your gardening experience ☺️
Hey Hebneh Thanks for watching Yes you are so right. It would have been worse if we didn't start the project before spring took over. Even more weeds would grow. We bought the house in 2019 and we knew it would be a fixer upper. We are finally doing the ground floor renovation now also ☺️ What's your gardening experience? We hope you were inspired 🙏🏾
How inspiring ! I nearly put off buying a house as there was a huge shed which was poorly built and taking up most of the already small garden. This video was sone encouraging to see what can be done if you want it.
Hi Tanya 😀 You made my day with your comment. You are so right, it's all about vision. There is a verse in the bible that says something like this. Without vision my people perish 😅 Since building the 1870 cottage we have truly gained a new perspective on life. So many compromises have to be made in order to make a house into a home. Unless you build a house yourself you will never have everything just right. Check out our recent videos where the work in our old house and garden continues 😀 Did you buy the house in the end? How is your journey coming on?
Aww Thank you Christine 👍🏾 Glad you found it inspiring. Yes share away ☺️ it is totally possible. Landscaping and building work is so expensive. Even if he can't do it all due to time, equipment and expertise, he can save loads of money by doing what he can. Whether it's clearing the rubbish and taking it to the recycling center for free or going all in with landscaping. We have done loads since and we are now working on the inside of the house ua-cam.com/video/GcInj5HQdDc/v-deo.html All the best for your son. Please let us know how he gets on. Hi Gina Thank you so much ❤️ Honestly this garden has helped to change our mindset never before have we ever thought of taking on such a huge project. We can happily say that it has been life-changing. Don't get me wrong, we had to work our socks off but looking back at the effort makes the enjoyment 1million times better 😎 looking forward to another year of happiness in our little patch. We will be vegetable planting tomorrow with our girls. Are you having your garden done?

Hey Ashsooo Thanks so much for your lovely message 😊 It has made my morning. Yes "there is always someone worse off than me" as the saying goes. It's good to be reminded of that. Hows your garden/yard going. What are your plans?
Hi Sharon Thank you so much You are so right, it was a lot of hard work. I would do it in an instant again 😅 The savings we made were just out of the world. Our family definitely benefited from this experience. What's your gardening experience?
Wow you are committed! My garden is a bit smaller than this and I've totally been making excuses. So inspired now I'm going to give it a go this summer.
Hi TJanese Thank you so much for watching 🙂 Glad you appreciated our makeover. As the saying goes, "necessity is the mother of all inventions". Thank you so much for your kind words. I don't profess to be a very exciting person 😅 What you see is what you get as they say. I'm currently working on a couple garden projects One is a new shed (finally) and the other will be a up-cycle green house project where I got an old greenhouse from Facebook marketplace and I hope to put it back together (key word is hope 😅) I say this to say, if my voice was a USP in this video then subscribe and stay tuned for those videos 😂 Hope you enjoyed the garden makeover too by btw ☺️
Sure saving money is important but there's nothing like the satisfaction you get from doing it yourself, also looks like you and your family had fun doing it...good job man looks great.
Hey Thanks so much for watching. You are so right about doing it yourself. We are so proud of all the hard work we put in. The value added to our home goes way beyond money. @@QueeferSutherland1 wow 😲 that sounds amazing. I love reclaimed material. So much character. It's a shame that it is often more expensive than new material. I wanted to use railway sleepers for our raised beds but they were so expensive. In the end I got some old gravel boards off Facebook marketplace for a fraction of the price. What are you growing in your garden?

This is the video I needed! I looked at our garden today and almost gave up on attempting to DIY it but you made me realise it’s still possible and that I should give it a go and dig out those roots! 😅 hopefully we’ll have a beautiful garden next summer. Thank you
Hi Georgia Thank you so much for watching ☺️ Can I just say great user tag @SimplyJamaica 😁 You are so right in saying that it is possible. We were so broke when we moved into our home and we had a vision of what could be possible. My mum encouraged us and we got stuck in with little to no experience. He is on the ASD spectrum and over the years he's taught me so much. But the key thing for me is patience love and keep yourself well and happy to be able to support him. Oh and sometimes you need the energy for the big things in life that sometimes the little things are OK to be shrugged and smiled at with gritted teeth. 🤐😅 xx
@@MichelleMcDermott-s3i how lovely to hear a little bit about your family. We are all runners in the same race but at different stages and events 😊 I'm here on a gardening/landscaping job for a customer. It's so refreshing to be outside even though it's wet and raining. Years ago I would have been caught dead doing this. I've learnt so much 😊 Painting the fence is not a great job but it's very worth it. We need to do the same 😅 I hope you will get round to doing it. Good luck on your garden projects. Hope you have some help and support especially when painting 🖌️🎨
Hi Ruth Thank you so much. Honestly it's been a labour of love. The Joy of doing it ourselves is just priceless. Now our family can enjoy our little paradise ☺️

Hey Mattie
Thank you so much for watching and for your encouragement. You are so right. I love the fact that this house and garden was so unloved. All it needed was someone to cut on the hard work and care for it. Now it is blooming with flowers, freshly cut lawn and home grown vegetables for us to enjoy.

WOW. It's amazing what you achieved for just £1000. Just goes to show you how much you pay for labour. Although your costs were hugely reduced thanks to your very generous neighbour ❤.

You earned it👍😊
Hey Red
Thanks a lot for watching
Yes we sure did. Just hoping the sun will keep its head out long enough so we can enjoy it ☺️
Fantastic job!
Hi Kasia
Your message is so lovely. So glad to hear your story. I'm glad our video has been encouraging. Honestly we almost didn't buy this quirky old cottage but we are blessed with a vision so we took the leap of faith. Boy I'm so glad we did. Well done to you on doing it yourself. What's your DIY experience?
Your mum knew your capabilities. Knew how much better a deal you could get w a writeoff back garden!
You did a great deal of very hard work, excellent design + vision and increased the value of your property (in America, would have been $50K increase in valuation).
Well done!!
🥹 I don't always get emotional when I hear about my late mum but you messaged really resonates with me 💝
She was a visionary and you are so right, she knew we could do it. Now when I look at our beautiful space where we play, relax and grow our organic vegetables I am just so grateful for all she did to make this possible 🙏🕊️
The improvements certainly added value to the property. It's been 4 years and I'm sure we are around 100k value increase with all the work we've done on the hose which included a new boiler, repairs to the roof and a new kitchen.
We are so blessed 🙏

Where in America are you from? 😊
After seeing all your hard work pay off lit a fire under me to proceed with my own backyard. It's so bare with just dirt and twice the size of yours. I thought any project would be overwhelming because I'm on a budget but you gave me some ideas so whichever way I go, I will come back with a report. Good job!

😂 xxx

How inspiring ! I nearly put off buying a house as there was a huge shed which was poorly built and taking up most of the already small garden. This video was sone encouraging to see what can be done if you want it.
Hi Tanya 😀
You made my day with your comment.
You are so right, it's all about vision. There is a verse in the bible that says something like this. Without vision my people perish 😅
Since building the 1870 cottage we have truly gained a new perspective on life. So many compromises have to be made in order to make a house into a home. Unless you build a house yourself you will never have everything just right.
Check out our recent videos where the work in our old house and garden continues 😀
Did you buy the house in the end?
How is your journey coming on?

😅 thank you so much. Yes we definitely had stronger backs by the end of this project. It was so well worth it. It helped to add so much value to our home ☺️
Wow you did amazing transformation yeah yard looks absolutely beautiful
Hi Lucille
Thank you so much. We really worked hard and learned so much. We have been slowly doing more work to it and adding new features. Now we have a shed and a greenhouse 🙌🏾
Are you doing your garden too?
You done a great job with your garden, Thanks for sharing!
@@sherriabbi2471 hi Sherriabbi
Thank you so much for your kind words. We really worked hard and we learnt so much about landscaping. It's amazing what you can learn with the right attitude, hard work and the internet 😅
Are you attempting something similar?
That backyard was bad! You & your family worked so hard back there. It looks sooo good!! 😊❤❤❤
Hi Gina
Thank you so much ❤️
Honestly this garden has helped to change our mindset never before have we ever thought of taking on such a huge project.
Make some dart boards with tree stump.
So awesome and inspiring.
Hey B. Chaney
Thank you so much. I am so glad you enjoyed it. It was a great learning experience. There are loads of things I would do differently next time. We are loving the garden, especially as the weather is getting better.
What's your gardening experience?
You and your family did an amazing job.it is so inspiring.
Thank you Julia 😊
It was hard work but it was so worth it 😊
The kids love it too and the money we saved went to pay for other projects. We are currently doing up our ground floor kitchen and living room 😊
What's your experience with a project like this?
Lots of hard work!!! Very beautiful!
Hi Toni
Thank you so much. Sure was a lot of hard work. Made the garden that more meaningful. What's your gardening experience? ☺️
I thought I had the worst yard ever but after watching this video I'm so inspired. Thank you I needed to see this, so happy I came across this video. Great job!
Hey Ashsooo
Thanks so much for your lovely message 😊
It has made my morning.
Yes "there is always someone worse off than me" as the saying goes. It's good to be reminded of that.
Hows your garden/yard going. What are your plans?
Well done! I did something similar. A lot sweat, mud and tears… But the result is amazing!
Thank you Halou
We love our garden now. It was worth all the effort 🙌🏾
Bravo...It is beatiful...thank you ! 🌺🌿🌺
Thank you for your kind words. Yes we love our garden now and it has added so much value to our home 🏡
What's your gardening or DIY experience?
Amazing transformation .... a lot of hard work but it all paid off.
Hi Sharon
Thank you so much
You are so right, it was a lot of hard work. I would do it in an instant again 😅
The savings we made were just out of the world. Our family definitely benefited from this experience.
What's your gardening experience?
Wow you are committed! My garden is a bit smaller than this and I've totally been making excuses. So inspired now I'm going to give it a go this summer.
How did you get on in your garden?
You guys did amazingly!! Love it!
Hi TJanese
Thank you so much for watching 🙂
Glad you appreciated our makeover. As the saying goes, "necessity is the mother of all inventions".
We had not a lot of money and we needed to have a space where our family could grow and thrive. We are still enjoying all our hard work. Improving and adding all the time. We now grow vegetables in our garden 🏡
Are you doing something similar to yours?
Excellent. Love home projects like yours. Great to see all the family chipping in. Well done 👏🏽
Hey Goochy
Thank you so much 🙏🏾
We definitely worked hard on this one 🙌🏾 It was so well worth the effort. It made us appropriate our garden even more. Are you doing something similar in your garden?
Excellent job, what a transformation. This will bring you joy for years to come.
Thank you so much. It really will bring us Joy ☺️ I'm constantly tweaking and changing things 😅
Good job! Oasis for the family!
Thank you CL
I like that "Oasis" for the family ☺️
It definitely is now, compared with how it was before. We absolutely love it 😍
The kids especially, we are planting our veggies and fruit for the season 🎉
What a wonderful project and beautiful garden! Thank you for creating this and posting it!
Hi Anne
Thank you so much 🥰
We are so blessed to have been able to work on our garden like this.
We were just soaking up some morning sun after breakfast in the garden. Worth every effort 🎉
What's your garden experience?
Your garden is gorgeous !!! 💜
Hi Mushi
Thank you so much. It has to be one of our greatest achievements. It was hard work but now we can smile and enjoy it.
What's your gardening experience?
Love how you narrate this. You have a calming voice. Great job!
Thank you so much for your kind words.
I don't profess to be a very exciting person 😅
What you see is what you get as they say.
I'm currently working on a couple garden projects
One is a new shed (finally) and the other will be a up-cycle green house project where I got an old greenhouse from Facebook marketplace and I hope to put it back together (key word is hope 😅)
I say this to say, if my voice was a USP in this video then subscribe and stay tuned for those videos 😂
Hope you enjoyed the garden makeover too by btw ☺️
lovely job ...looks amazing. enjoy it with your family xx
@@kel6385 Thank you so much Kel
We learnt so much and it was so well worth it. Still adding each year.
Are you doing a similar project?
Sure saving money is important but there's nothing like the satisfaction you get from doing it yourself, also looks like you and your family had fun doing it...good job man looks great.
Hey
Thanks so much for watching.
You are so right about doing it yourself. We are so proud of all the hard work we put in. The value added to our home goes way beyond money. Now we have a beautiful little paradise to enjoy. The kids play and we grow our own vegetables each year.
We are constantly twerking it as time goes on.

@@TheMalcolms7 Yeah built a raised deck, patio, retaining wall made from an old reclaimed stone fireplace it's a work in progress but an enjoyable one.
Wow, it is a great garden 👍❣️🇧🇻 enjoy❤️🦋🐞
Hi Astri
Thank you so much. We are so happy with the results. All our hard work paid off.
What's your gardening story?
Hope you were inspired 🙏🏾👍🏾
What an amazing transformation! Well done on all the hard work
Aww
Thank you so much
We really can believe it even now that we did that 😅
It's now spring and I'm busy getting the garden ready for summer and the planting season.
Keep watching as I will be uploading some more garden videos 📸 ☺️
Marvelous work. I had to rewatch the again. What a dream. You and your wife did a great job ☺️
This is the video I needed! I looked at our garden today and almost gave up on attempting to DIY it but you made me realise it’s still possible and that I should give it a go and dig out those roots! 😅 hopefully we’ll have a beautiful garden next summer. Thank you
Hi Georgia
Thank you so much for watching ☺️
Can I just say great user tag @SimplyJamaica 😁
You are so right in saying that it is possible. We were so broke when we moved into our home and we had a vision of what could be possible. My mum encouraged us and we got stuck in with little to no experience. Loads of UA-cam videos and a can do attitude and here we are today. The girls and I were harvesting vegetables today and tidying up the foliage as the season its close to its end.
It's so worth it. Yes those roots are incredibly hard to dig out but it's so worth it in the end.
Please reach out to me on social media if you need any help or advise. I do mean it ☺️
I've encouraged quite a few people on a similar journey which is so rewarding. Made some great friends along the way.
Where do you live if you don't mind me asking (region)
@@TheMalcolms7 Haha I had a feeling when I saw the cho cho video.
Thank you so much for your response! My husband and I bought a house at the end of last year and got married in August so we definitely need to DIY where possible. We live in Kent.
I'm also looking forward to growing veg as well. Will definitely reach out, thank you.
@@SimplyJamaican oh wow
Congratulations to you and your husband. So many new adventures and challenges ahead of you both 💫
I'm sure you both will triumph together.
My wife and I just celebrated 11 years of marriage. The time flies by.
You are going to love growing vegetables in your garden. You will be growing breadfruit, yam and green bananas in no time lol 😂
We used to live in London until we bought and moved 4 years ago. Keep in touch over there in Kent.
Quite the transformation Kenroy - nice! A great family project. 👍
Thanks a lot 👍🏾
Beautiful job well done everyone
Thank you ☺️👍🏾
I hope the summer weather will come out soon so we can all enjoy it. I have to build a shed and a up-cycle green house project next 😅
Wow, great job! 😀 and super sweet little girl 🥰
Heya
Thank you so much
Really appreciate your comment
A huge part of us buying this old house with it's terrible garden was for us to make something special for our girls 👍🏾
We are doing it bit by bit. On to the next renovation project ☺️
YOUR BACKYARD IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!

Wow! Huge improvement! Love the end result!
Thank you ☺️
Wow what an amazing job! It looks so lovely well done 👏🙏
Hey Ashley bless you 🙏
We certainly had our work cut out for us. This was our first project and our proudest to date as we were certainly novices when we bought this house with the terrible garden.
I've even gotten some work for people who needed help with their garden 🏡
Are you doing a similar project?
We bought a house on a 500sqm block that was nothing but exposed dirt and caltrops.
Looking at what you went through we got off easy when it came to landscaping
Thank you
It's funny how looking back you fidget how challenging things were which is why I am glad we documented the journey. It was well worth the hard work ☺️
How's your garden now?
What did you do to it?
Very good job. Looks great. I live it. I also like the sun flowers they give a p4etty color. Big difference from old style and new style. Congratulations. ❤️👍👍
Thank you Ingrid 😊
What a difference eh
I didn't know before planting them that sunflower 🌻🐝 were my favourite flowers.
I'm a bit late this year but I have some seeds sprouting now ☺️
What's your garden experience?
Fantastic job well done and how lucky you are to have such a lovely family and neighbour/friends xx

Aww
Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so blessed to have good friends and a loving family. We are working together with my wife and I to nurture our two little girls. Meanwhile they are also teaching us about our selves 😉
Our garden has come a long way. We are always learning something new day by day.

@TheMalcolms7 I'm also currently working on my garden. My next job is to paint the fences but I'm procrastinating at the moment! I also learn so much from my son.
We are all runners in the same race but at different stages and events 😊
I'm here on a gardening/landscaping job for a customer. It's so refreshing to be outside even though it's wet and raining. Years ago I would have been caught dead doing this. I've learnt so much 😊
Painting the fence is not a great job but it's very worth it. We need to do the same 😅
I hope you will get round to doing it. Good luck on your garden projects. Hope you have some help and support especially when painting 🖌️🎨
What an inspiration to see what you have achieved. Well done ! You must be so proud of yourself.
