Bro. Henry, thanks to your pre race coverage I took time to watch this year's Indy 500 for the first time live in many years. What an exciting finish!! You personalized your experience for us!!! Your coverage for me was better than NBC's. Thanks for your work!!!
@@MowersNBlowers My Husqvarna XT6.75 hp wouldn't start even with a fuel cut off installed. Did a quick and dirty and found no water but red rusty particles in the bottom of the bowl. Interesting that you & I agree it was better than broadcast coverage... but Henry wonders if he'll ever do it again for lack of knowing what's going on in real time.
That was cool to see the drivers , I'm a Josef Newgarden fan, great pre race footage Henry, I've been watching the Indy 500 since I was 5, I;m 41 now and I still sit and watch it every year
Great video. I used to go to the NASCAR tases when it was still on the oval and went to qualifying many times for Indy car NASCAR and when F1 has the race there a few years. I remember the very first time there was 1995 for the Brickyard 400. It rained all day and they finally started the race real late. Dale Earnhardt Sr won that year. I started taking my son when he turned 8 or 9. Things changed a lot since then. Last time I was there was in 2012 for the Hauler parade in town there with my then 5 year old daughter and first time for my wife. Glad you had a great time. Definitely an experience every race fan should do at least once. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Henry, great video. I watched it from my home, the parking was cheaper... You had great seats and saw all the heavy hitters. It's good to see you enjoy a weekend with your brother. I thought the race ending was great. Have a safe trip home. I'll be watching for more videos.
Thanks man! Hey if you’re gonna go, go to the race itself. I mean unless you’re local in Indy. You mean bump day? Bump day isn’t what it used to be when there’s like 40 entries trying for the 33 spots, that’s fun! Hope you’ll subscribe for me.
Really enjoyed the footage: the "being-there" aspect came through nicely. Still, I'm disappointed that you wonder about ever going back. You walked the entire track, which is recommended!... for Carb Day or a practice day lol. But not necessarily the race itself. Let's go through some other considerations that might make your next race more relevant: * your seats were awful from a race POV; sure, they were close to the pits, but you were on the wrong side (the inside) and you can't see anything going on. Beyond that, you were low on a straightaway... and not necessarily very close to the racecourse itself. * racing is one of the few spectator sports that you essentially want to be "as far away" from the action as possible; it's not so much a distance thing than it is an elevation thing. Sitting in the front row on the 50-yd line for a football game is cool, but this is decidedly not so in racing. The higher up you are, the more you can see. Get some seats up high... and in a turn!... and it'll be easier to keep track of what's going on. I prefer NW Vista (T4) so I can see out of 3, north chute, into & out of 4, and all the way down the main straightaway to the S/F line. SW Vista (T1) offers nearly all of the same, but it has the added benefits of shade/raincover and also getting you closer to the course. For a $$$ price lol. * I assume you didn't share any pit stop video because all of the gear was blocking your view? So to prevent this, a good rule of thumb is to sit on the outside of the track. Inside views severely restrict the perspective. * I personally chuckled at the "shuttle bus takes ~10 mins" estimate someone shared with you. I've had state police escorts to not only avoid traffic, but also to blow through lights... it's still awhile to get in, so 10 mins was not a reasonable guess in my book. How long did it take you to get out? I'm guessing 90 mins or so to get back downtown? Nice vid, glad you went & filmed a lot, hope you'll consider being a part of it again. See you there! 🏎☁🏁
Thanks for the very accurate and knowledgeable reply. I realized all this after the race started. I wondered why 4th row seats were cheap and not sold out. Now I know. Your estimate of 90 was spot on. It’s that reason that I may never go again, is the getting in getting out ordeal! Very taxing on the mind, stressful, pain in the butt, the wait for the shuttle in a maze of a thousand lab mice going through a maze is enough for me to say, I should just watch it on TV next time. But I never miss the show,
Been going to indy for years, unless your special enough to get a helicopter ride in, express bus pass is an absolute must!!!! . Get to the track early, and are one of the first busses out, with blowing cold AC.
Don’t think you can buy credentials for garages on race day .. but you can during quals but the garages can be seen from plenty of spots accessible to the public

Thanks for sharing your journey
Yeah buddy!
So happy for you man, glad you got to go see this.
Thx bro
love the speedway my seats are in turn two
You you go every year in the same seats?
yes
My parents had seats on the outside of turn 4 up high and could see about half of the track. Just a suggestion.
Yeah I know better now! Thanks

His seats were actually very bad. I'll write up a little summary here in a moment lol.

As a veteran of many 500’s, you must sit in an outside turn. IMO, turn 3 is excellent!
Yeah I know that now! Had a great time! I personally think indycar is way better than F1 being it so predictable! Same winner every week
I prefer the Paddock .. I love the starting pageantry but up far you can see a great amount also
Love the video bro glad you got to go to indy there
It was a great experience but I’d rather watch it on TV

11:47 interesting, you don't need to stay the whole day on your seats position, right? watching this from Brazil.
You can do whatever you want! This is America!
I was going to take an uber but you've made me decide on the shuttle bus for this year.
Am Uber is t going to get through the road blocks. The bus has a special route cordoned off by the cops. Have fun? Hope you subscribed

14:30 during the race, you can go to other sectors/stands? how does it works? tks

Need credentials, just pay extra
