Yes, they really brought the cuteness on this video. An under-appreciated oldie but goodie featuring the original holy trinity. They have come a long way and have given us fans an amazing ride! So much hard work and dedication. Appreciate all the joy these ladies (including Momo) have brought into this world.
Another great song to enjoy a Kami Band intro, unfortunately this is a weird live compilation but at least it's not so useless to enjoy that insane intro which btw sounds similar to Catch Me If You Can intro lol Awadama Fever means "bubblegum fever", this song was created by the same composer who wrote Gimme Chocolate!! and it was intended to release before GC! blew up going viral in 2014 and getting mixed critics overseas including some saying they're doing "bubblegum pop music", either way is a good song for some fans to think they did this as a way to respond to those. I think they're so respectful and polite and they even said that they take critics from everyone and will try to learn and get better instead of doing a song as a way to give a sort of middle finger to anyone, they will only raise the kitsune up.🦊🤘 Anyway this song sounds heavy and got some riffs and rhythms you might probably already heard before, for me I can even hear some drums elements from ska songs but if you want a clearly ska rhythm song i recommend "YAVA!" with the Kami Band intro live at Big Fox Festival 2017. Since the composer Takeshi Ueda got a punk and digital hardcore background this song got some of those elements as well drum & bass, again don't want to give spoilers but one of the new songs from latest album got more clear d&b element, you'll hear it for sure. The heavy riff you heard here is probably the same from "The Powerpuff Girls" cartoon show, you know, three girls with super powers just like our girls here. This live compilation got footage from live shows between 2015 and 2017, so the girls got around 15/17 and 17/19 top. Song is about traveling with a bubblegum mint flavored time machine to reach your dreams, trippy maybe but like with Gimme Chocolate!! and some others songs is all about to just have fun and party. There's a funny interview with the girls and the western journalist ask them if they ever went on travel with a mint flavored time machine (?) and SuMetal said just "No!" (like "you kidding me?") lmao Pretty sure The One will be glad to meet you if you got the chance to see them live, I'll be looking for your vlog and review. Kitsune up and see you next time.🦊🤘❤
Yay! I'm so glad you did a reaction to this song! In my opinion, it's one of their most adorable performances haha. The joke amongst fans is that it's a cute and adorable middle finger to all the critics who said Babymetal is "bubble gum pop metal". So they made a cute but heavy AF song about bubble gum, lol. Also, I know it'll be tough to tell due to a compilation, but the audio is from Red Fox Festival in 2017. That show is 100% female audiences only, so Babymetal was being extra cute for them, haha. Any scene with Mikio and Takayoshi both using the red/black flying V guitar is from that show. That year, Babymetal did Black Fox Festival (guys only), Red Fox Festival (ladies only), Gold Fox Festival (teens only), Silver Fox Festival (children and elderly), and White Fox Festival (Kami Band face paint cosplay), ending with the Big Fox Festival. Unfortunately, Big Fox was Yui's last performance. Great reaction as always! 🤘🦊
@@alexatakesalook In the kids/elderly show, they had a small and gentle mosh pit of little kids running around. I saw a fan cam clip and it was adorable. Never would I have thought to label a mosh pit “adorable”, lol! 🤘🦊
Early in their career some articles were written that called their music style "bubblegum", said they were a fad and manufactured with no chance to last. So of course they write a song about bubblegum and play it at nearly every concert. I obviously can't know for certain that this inspired the song, but it just feels like it inspired the song, like "you want to call us bubblegum rock? let me show you what a real band can do with that."
Awadama Fever is one of the old classics from the super kawaii era when they were young. It's one of the songs that hasn't been played live for a long time, with the last live performance being in 2017. It's probably one of the songs that fans most want them to perform again. Given that they pulled Iine out of mothballs last year anything is possible, particularly since Momometal hasn't ever performed it. This video is a compilation of shows from 2015 through until 2017.
Nice one, thanks! The compilation video grinds my gears, though. 😅 It contains several videos from 2015 to 2017, which is basically the period of time they performed the song live (yes, I know it premiered live in December 2014... this is for the really picky ones, haha...). 6:10 Not a pentagram, it's their logo from Metal Resistance Episode III (2015, think about it as an era or a part of one). The whole triangular stage (Makuhari Messe) is actually the logo (more or less). Inscribed in the triangle is the logo of Metal Resistance Episode I which is also the actual Budokan 2014 stage layout. 😁 🤘🦊

the cuteness is really contextual, based on time, really. 2015 though, they're still pretty young. Compilations are a curse. There are usually better videos, if you see one is a compilation I'd avoid it, I think the only one you can't find that isn't a compilation is 'MomoBanger' right now. Anyway, pulled the trigger and subscribed!
Good reaction - great song - I really don't like this compilation, so many cuts and so many different concerts, it loses a lot of the continuity in the choreo and is probably part of the reason you weren't completely sold on the song. This is a song about bubblegum - but not just any bubblegum, this bubblegum has special properties. Chew on this bubblegum and it can take you wherever you dream of going, it's a mint flavoured time machine - step aboard and see how far this dream might go, the only limit is your imagination or how much you can dream ... and look how far BABYMETAL have come. Was it knock back to people who accused them of making "Bubblegum Pop Metal"? Who can say - whatever it may have been they turned up all the things the haters criticised them for to 11.
Nice reaction as always. I know some people dislike compilations but to me they're fine, if done well, as you get to see the costume and set changes. 2 more to look forward to? Can't wait. If you want a really different BabyMetal version to react to try the Ave Maria mix of Headbanger from Legend 1997, no I'm not joking, which while only sort of live singing is wonderful and very different. It's also BabyBones + BabyBones dancers. ua-cam.com/video/AbZcsD2KTTE/v-deo.html
This video grinds my gears as well, no fault of yours. As a musician, it triggers me when they show a musician playing and what the musician is doing doesn't match the music in the background. And that's the case here, just a personal pet peeve. And yes that's a pentagram, quite common in Japan. If you watch anime, or read manga, anytime someone casts a spell a pentagram appears underneath them. No negative reference in their culture. That's our baggage. But good reaction. One of my favorite songs off the second album.
A pentagram is a five pointed star. It's from the Greek "pentagrammon" (five + line). The star pattern on the BABYMETAL stage is eight sided. I agree about the compilation video. They should match the footage with the original sound.

Awadama Fever:-
Awadama Fever is a song from BABYMETAL's second original album, METAL RESISTANCE. The same composer who wrote "Gimme Chocolate". This song was written as a result of backlash from the BABYMETAL haters that BABYMETAL are a bubblegum pop Band. When the breakdown happens, you are entering "DOOM" territory. This genre can be considered Industrial Metal like Rammstein from Germany 🇩🇪 & Reminiscent elements of melodic speed metal. "Awadama Fever", like "Gimme Chocolate!!", follows genres of drum and bubblegum... - melodies over thrash metal", the group's song, "Awadama Fever" exemplified the genre, the song contained "slabs of angry... their regular number "Doki Doki ✩ Morning", becoming heated on the floor. "Awadama Fever" has Su-metal performing call and response with the audience shouting...

Pine Awadama: The Pioneer of Fizzy Candies in Japan. The Awadama soda candy (Weight: 120 g/ Price: 162 yen) is from Pine, an Osaka-based confectionery company known for its pineapple candy named Pine Ame (パインアメ).
Awadama (あわだま), literally meaning Bubble Ball, is a kind of Dagashi. First released in 1987, this product is known as the pioneer of fizzy candies in Japan.
Awadama Soda Candy, Apple, Pineapple & Grape Flavors.
Since fizzy soda candies weren’t around at the time, these treats soon became popular, and Dagashiya candy shops dotted around the city carried them.
Today, candy shops are rarely seen in the city, but instead, Dagashi treats like this are available at supermarkets, convenience stores, and drugstore chains.
Awadama Candy from Pine
The Awadama soda candy comes in three flavours, Apple (アップル), Pineapple (パイン), and Grape (グレープ), which are neither so sweet nor intense.
Once popped in the mouth, these Ame (hard candies) give a slight fizzy feeling, and the slow fizz lasts till the end. They are not stimulating but refreshing, and I can’t get enough of eating them!
