I believe there is a way to checkmate with the two bishops, you need to push the King to a horizontal edge, not to a vertical Edge. The reason you didnt checkmate him was you had no space to reorganize your bishops in an effective way, horizontally you would have a lot more of space to being the bishops to a good place and have a waiting move just in case. And yes, i tested It and i was able to checkmate
For example, get the 3 last files of the board (doesnt matter if there isnt 12 ranks) you just have to get your king to f7, enemy King to h7, and bishops to g5 and h5 If its your turn: 1. Bg6+ Kh8 2. Bf6# Opponent's turn: 1. Kh8 Bg4 (waiting move) 2. Kh7 Bf5+ 3. Kh8 Bf6# I would recommend trying this on a board to visualize It better
At 6:00 you had the right idea with Bb6 and if Black takes with the bishop it's mate with Nc3+, Ka5 or Kc5, Bb4#. The only way to get out of that predicament for Black is to move one of the light squared Bishops which then you can capture their only dark squared Bishop which guarantees Black can at most get a draw. But you still have mating potential because of the Bishop and Knight.
@@taisgamingchannel8338 Okay, but in a 1x30 chess board, knights and bishops can't move at all, pawns can't capture, the king would take forever to move across the board, and a queen would just be a glorified rook
1d chess rules could apply: kings move one space in either direction, rooks move any spaces in either direction, knights jump two spaces in either directon
Donut chess…
10x10 board with a 4x4 hole
Circular Chess is a thing
@@MyCameraRollOfficial I know, but this is different, for example a rook in donut chess nerds 4 moves to loop around, while in circular it takes 2
12:27 This was mate in 4, with the winning line being 1. ... Ka2 2. Kc1 Bb5 3. Kc2 Ba4+ 4. Kc1 Ba3#
Make a spiral chess, going through the edge of either of the 4 quadrants goes to the opposite quadrant. Bishop on b1 can go d4 or g4 downwards.
he made a spiral chess

Pyramid chess. Chess on a 120 hexagonal grid pyramid. The goal is for the Kings to reach the top.
Rubik's cube chess each turn you rotate one part of the cube
I really liked the concept of the video. However, I feel a 2D view of the board would be much better. Cool content!
If toggled didn’t move that bishop to safety you could take another one although that would be a trade

This felt so painful to watch, I felt claustrophobic.
now make the same variant, but opposite. skinny wide chess
I really feel it should be possible to checkmate with the two bishops, but great video! 😌Mini chess is quite fun...

why didn't you take the free bishop?
I was thinking the same
Oh, I do feel claustrophobia looking at it. It’s scary

Nobody cares.
@@CheckmateSurvivor You cared enough to respond
@@BuckyDucky God bless you!
We need 1x30 chess
So basically, Two kings throw rooks at each other until they're the only pieces left and it's a stalemate?
@@concerningindividual629 no there’s different pieces and there should be some randomness involved
